Sector twenty one, the Verta clan’s, Seven.

It might have been that rumored effect where you start seeing things in slow motion when your death is near. My thoughts suddenly accelerated as I watched the tiger faced alien charge at me.

I was about to give up. As much as I hated to admit it, it was more like me to just give up. After all I'm not some space fighter chasing orange balls to revive my dead friends. I'm just a below average shut in who makes his eyes suffer by staring at a screen for days rather than hours, no matter how much I try roleplaying as this strong fearsome hero who doesn't flinch when fighting aliens, there is a limit I'm going to eventually reach.

I mean, I did some pretty amazing things, right? I went toe to toe with the leader of some space pirate cult that worships a mythical monster who I also just happen to have survived an encounter with, can't I give it a rest already? I’ve already used most of my reserves and no matter what I do I will eventually lose. T
