Chapter 5: First night Alone

Before the morning shine.

I arrived at the town next to the Rum town called Heirbell town.

Unlike the peaceful and relaxing scenery of the Rum town.

Heirbell town is a town known as a trading site for many adventurers and merchants.

People often visit to shop here because of its cheap offers unlike other shops in other towns.

There are a crowd of people everywhere and it's very easy to lose in these place if you don’t have enough sense of direction.

Its earsplitting sound of the seller and buyers are heard every corner. They are selling many things from small items to bigger items. It includes adventuring stuff like weapons, support items, and adventuring gears.

While I was wandering around the busy streets. I notice a group of children walking in the lane. They all have a gloomy expression on their face. Their clothes are dull and tear up.

Looking closely at the children, I noticed that their feet are chain one each other.

I felt sad looking at them. Especially that they all seem like the same age or younger than me. I that moment I started to know how cruel the world was.

"Hey! Kid, what are you staring at? Go away, if you're not going to buy anything. You're ruining my business... The slave seller then turns his glance to a rich-looking man.“…Oh, hello there my faithful customer. I have a new girl that is fitting for you..."

The slave seller started to have a transaction with an old rich man who seemed to have a fetish for small girls.

After seeing his creepy smile, I ran away as fast as I can.

I then make a big sigh after putting a huge distance to those creepy people.

"Phew~ This world has begun to feel really weird."

My Mama used to say that the outside world is dangerous. I think I get it now.

I really felt sorry for those girls, but now I need to solve my own problem.

My stomach rumbles. I put my hand on my stomach and look around the town. I find a place where they sell sandwiches. All I can afford for now is this one-piece sandwich. I need to find a way to make money as soon as possible.

"Here, it's 40 quarts for a chicken sandwich."

Said, the food vendor and give me the sandwich.

It looks like the chicken sandwich, my mother used to make for us at lunchtime. I missed them.

Sit down on the bench in the plaza and started my first meal of the day.

While sitting and eating.

I felt really lonely.

Being in a place I'm not very familiar with and not knowing anything is scary. I don't know where to start or what to do? All I know is to keep doing the things that I need to do.

I look at my wallet and realized that I won't survive after two weeks. There too many things that I need. Like a place to stay and food.

"Travelling is really hard, especially for a little girl like me."

Like a gust of the wind. The wallet in my hand suddenly disappeared.

Someone snatches the wallet in my hands.

I'm surprised and immediately turn my eye's toward the thief who stoles my wallet.

"Hey! Wait! Have mercy that is the only money I have."

I shouted with tears in my eyes.

That money is my only lifeline.

I chase the thief but with a thief skill, the thief started to run so fast and I'm not able to get my money back.

I fall to the ground on exhaustion and started to think things.

"There are many people here, why there no one bothers to help me?"

A huge shadow looms to my back.

It's a carriage full of huge logs of woods. The driver stops his carriage and gets down from his seat.

"What are doing in our way?"

He kicked me away and go back to his cart.

"Gyaaa-!!"

The chicken sandwich in my hand falls to the ground. It bread was then covered by dirt.

That's the only food left for me. I can't afford to lose it.

I get the sandwich and munch it down immediately. Some people looked at me with a weird gaze.

"Look at that kid, she's eating food from the ground. I wonder where her parent is?”

“Don't tell me her parent abandon her. What a poor child to have terrible parents."

Listening to their whispers, while trash-talking my parents makes me feel irritated.

I saw a brach tree on the side of the road and get it. I run toward the girl who's trash-talking my mother and hit her head with the branch.

"My Mama is not a terrible parent! Take back what you said!"

I retorted.

"This kid... Water ball!"

Followed by her chant water appeared in front of her plan and fire toward my small body. The impact of the water ball was like a punch of a fully grown man.

After getting hit directly. I fell to the ground

"How dare you hit me with a dirty stick to my face. You little runt."

The other girl calm her down and tried to stop her whose about to launched another skill.

"Don't worry about it, It's just a little kid. Don't be so workup, we still have a place to attend."

The girl turns her back away and leaves me.

I stand up and saw my reflection on the glass in the dress shop. Opposite on how cute and clean the dress on the other side of the glass. My clothes are muddy and drenched with water.

I really look dirty. Mama will scold me if she’s still here.

While looking at the glass I notice a beautiful and pretty dress.

I remember the time that my Mama and I go shopping for some clothes. My mother really likes dressing me up in the store.

I started to fix my hair and tries to remove the dirt in my clothes and then smile in the mirror.

"Don't worry, I will overcome this challenge. I don't know anything that's why I'm like this, but I know someday I will learn."

I started to recall that I happened to pass by a forest earlier before arriving at this town.

Maybe, I can go collect some mushroom and sell it to the potion maker. Maybe that way I'm able to get some money.

I go straight to the forest and look for a weird-looking mushroom. Luckily I get a ton of them and headed to the potion maker.

As I expected, the potion maker bought my mushrooms and got money enough for me to have dinner and room to stay for tonight.

That's right, all I need is to stay optimistic and look to my future. I guess I will go to the forest to hunt mushroom or herbs, I heard herbs is more pricy than mushrooms.

After making some money, I'm going to head to the next town, until I arrived at State central.

I don't know why but I feel like I need to arrive there.

After having dinner, I rented a room to stay in for tonight.

This is the first time a slept in an inn alone and it feels uneasy. I can't sleep at all.

My Mama used to tell stories or sing me lullaby for me to sleep. I think my mother spoiled me so much before.

I know, my Mama told me that counting sheep will make you sleepy. I guess I try that.

"1 Sheep... 2 Sheep... 3 Sheep... 4... 5... 6... 7..."

After reaching hundreds. I felt drowsy and saw the mother smile that put me in relief.

"Mama goodnight."
