Chapter 10 She gaped at him, her brows narrowed into a questioning look, anticipating his response to clarify her question. Marco avoided her gaze, his heart drumming a panic rhythm as those electric blue eyes bored into his soul from beside him.He already told her the truth, but saw it as a lie. What could he probably do than stretch the truth then, and to what new fact would he stretch the truth to make it believable. She wouldn’t believe him if he told her who he actually was. Heir to the city’s wealthiest empire, a trillionaire, and the new face of Lourd’s Consortium. Definitely going to either see him as a crazy man, or a man filled with delusions. Finally, an idea plucked into his mind and a sigh almost broke through his lips. He dragged his face into facing her again, “Fine. I was lying.” She raised an eyebrow, expecting more to the phrase. He was lying, then he should go on and explain himself. “There was this rich name, I never really caught his name. I think he came f
Chapter 11 His eyes shunned a look of suspense, hooded with a small smirk attached on his lips. He came into view, claded in a sparkly all white suit, down to the color of his shoes. He went all for the color. Marco stared with a creased brows, face furrowed in confusion as he watched the strange man approaching him. He was about the same age with him, late twenties with his features appearing more filler than Marco’s. He had broad shoulders, to his chest and a muscled body all over. “They were right.” Came a cold chilling response, his hooded eyes inspecting Marco within scrutiny. Differing from what he asked, his response had chills settling in Marco’s body. “Stay back and tell me who the fuck you are?” Marco warned, framing a defensive stance with his fisted palms coming to display, pointed at the nearing stranger. He stopped on his tracks, hands raising up in surrender, and yet the smug smirk remained on his face. “I meant no harm, just here to confirm some things. So yo
Chapter 12 Marco was testing out some outfits when he heard the doorbell ringing. He at first ignored, thinking it was coming from a near neighbor, but then realized his building stood alone around the vicinity. This had him wondering who could be ringing his bell, he was new at the area; literally yet to made any friends. Danger hinted at his instincts, he slipped back into his robe, coming out of the closet while branching his bedside table to retrieve the gun kept in the drawer. He strolled downstairs, keeping his movement light and unnoticed. Approaching the door, he corked the gun, positioning a target before opening the door to reveal a strange guy. Marco brought down the gun, confusion morphing into his face as he looked the guy over to read him. “Who are you?” He questioned, while his eyes raid him all over. “I’m Jacob by name. And I’m suppose to be your assistant. Mr Anders sent me here.” He introduced, bowing his head with his palms clasped behind him. Marco scoffed
Chapter 13 He paced around his closet, mulling over the idea skulking at the surface of his mind. He was yet to phone Anders, because he needs to be sure about this. Deciding it was the best and only option, he went back to his room, obtaining his phone on the bed where he flung it, he operated to dial Ander’s number. “Shit!” He cussed, finding out his phone was still dead and he’s yet to charge it back up. The patched up state of the phone does nothing than mock him on his need to get a new one, with a cracked screen, broken battery and many more. He should have gotten it even. However, his earnings, savings were all getting sucked out of his pocket by his debt. One he got in just to save his girlfriend from dying, the lover who later betrayed him and left him for a better man she believed. A knock rang on his door, interrupting his thought as he jerked a head towards the door. It wasn’t unlocked, and the only visitor in mind knocking wouldn’t be anyone other than his assistant.
Chapter 14 Marco got to his old apartment, unable to stop his head from recalling what went down right where he was. His girlfriend betraying him, cheating on him, and casting him out. He heaved a sigh, drowning the dejected feeling that seek to shroud his head as he went straight to his wardrobe. He searched under a clean heap of folded clothes, where he found a box. He took the box out, opening it to reveal some documents. He brought one out of them out, giving it an inspective view. It was the document handling his ownership of the house he stood in. And another was a copy of the file he signed when Gina fell out with her sickness, the surgery that was performed for her to save her. His finger trailed on that particular document, letting his mind date back to their good times. She has always been the best girlfriend, never for once messed over the fact that he was beneath her. She’s the daughter to one of the notable family in the city, well respected and wealthy. Yet she f
Chapter 15Marco was still looking into things in his room when a knocked barged on his door. He expected the knocker to be Gina or her boyfriend, he knew they were still going to throw at least brief tantrum over what happened. However, when he opened the door he wasn’t expecting to see the cops. “Mr Lourd, you’re under arrest for trespassing into somebody’s property without their consent or permission. You’re going to need to follow us to the station please.” The officer briefed Marco, handing out cuffs to use on Marco when he stepped backwards. “You want me with you, very well. But best believe I won’t be wearing that.” He pointed at the cuffs a cop was handing out to him. The coo nodded in agreement as he paved way for Marco to step out. “What’s your name by the way?” Marco asked, walking down the stairs with them. He halted, turning around sharping as he glanced narrowly at the man’s badge, zooming at the name tag right above it. Dillon Helms. “Is that of any importance sir
Chapter 16The clocked ticked with an eccentric pace, going down from ten to the last count reaching zero with Gina remaining rooted to where she stood. “I know you won’t throw me out, you love and you wouldn’t dare.” She sound so sure, crossing her arms over her chest as she masked a solid expression. Marco drew his brows in amusement, “I think you forgot about the part where you broke my heart, betrayed me, left me for dead and still expect me to be in love with you after that. You sure are delusional, really out of your mind.” He nodded to his own words, tapping on his phone while a small smile parted his lips. “Yeah, I need you send two cops to this address. There’s an actual trespasser in a property of mine, refusing to leave after I’ve asked numerous times for her to leave. I think I’d need some force to handle her, and teach her some lessons.” He spoke into the phone, sifting his attention off Gina as he laid out his words. “Yeah thanks,” he voiced after some seconds, ending
Chapter 17 Marco sighed the moment he arrived back at his mansion, on the narrowed path to the garage was actually a car parked right outside. And it wasn’t any car, but the model he had requested for from his assistant. He gawked at the car’s beauty, the exhaustion on his face lifting up with a smile. He wanted to stride over, weigh down his classiness and express physically his admiration for the car. However, the car was his, permanently. So he could use a shower, as well as eat something to dead the hunger lashing in his stomach. He walked into his home, met with a distinctive smell that had his nose sniffing the air, recognizing the aroma wafting up his nostrils. He followed the smell, that led him to his dinning to see a strange woman setting up dinner. “Good evening, and who are you?” The maid turned around at the heard of his voice, a bit startled before she bowed in respect. “I was hired Sir, to help with your kitchen’s businesses. Welcome back Sir, and dinner is served
