192: Regret

Zoey stepped into the house and saw Micheal on the phone with a dark look. She halted; he seemed to already know.

Just as she was watching him quietly, she heard him plead into the phone. "Mr Scott, I promise this will be different. You were my father's best partner back then. How could you doubt me? Why don't you trust me for my father's sake?"

Perhaps he had accidentally put on the loudspeaker mode of the phone because Zoey could hear the recipient of the call respond,

"Young master Tyson, it's not that I don't trust your capability but the time chairman used to run the company is over. I am not the only important decision maker in my company. They won't agree to pool funds into a start-up business."

Micheal gritted his teeth. He understood what the man was trying to say indirectly. He meant to say since his father already stepped down, the business couldn't survive under his control and it was sold off.

Now his company wouldn't gamble investing funds into his business ideas.
