Chapter 164

A buzzing sound woke him up the following day. Even in his sleep, he could recognize the sound. He opened his eyes and found Winnie pressed against his naked body.

Careful not to wake her up, he hurried her to the side and rolled out of bed. As he stepped down, he saw their clothes scattered all over the ground. Crouching, he picked up his pants and pulled out his phone from its back pocket before dragging it up his waist.

He tiptoed out of the room down to the living room before answering.

“Good morning, sunshine. How'd it go?”

“Cleo?” His brow snapped together at how chirpy her voice sounded.

“Your one and only,” she laughed.

“Why do you sound so happy?” He asked as if it was a crime for her to be happy.

“When you're on the road, driving way beyond the speed limit, it tends to get you pumped up,” she explained.

“And why are you on the road this early?”

“Okay, Mr journalist, slow down!”

He didn't need to see her to know she had rolled her eyes hard. The thought made him chuckle.
