Chapter 64

"Is that Avery?" Laura gasped, and that's when Elijah turned.

At the same time, Avery Trust raised her head. Their gaze met, and held, with Elijah's eyes widening, while remained squinted.

"Remember who you are Elijah." Her voice wafted around his ears.

It was her right? Was she playing games with him again?

"What did you run from Elijah?" Tobias' voice followed.

He fought the wave as hard as he could. But in all his twenty-eight years in this world, he had never won against it. As his eyes closed, he was transported back in time.

FLASHBACK

ELIJAH

I sat on my chair, at my desk, reminiscing in my diary. If I didn't write it, there was every possibility I would forget. I had a big brains for my age, yet somehow, memories were a fuzzy fragile thing I had to hold on to, less I never remember.

As I stared into the blank paper thinking of what happened the previous day so I could write about it, she walked past. At first, I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, so I blinked.
