Unexpectedly, as Beatrice was hugging him, she started tearing up.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you.”
She kept hugging him for close to a minute before reluctantly letting go and wiping her teary eyes. Bin did not openly show it but he was getting slightly emotional too, after all, Beatrice was like a mother to him.
The things she had taught him could not be counted, furthermore, she fed him and clothed him, basically doing anything a mother would do.
Beatrice caressed his cheek but ended up frowning as a chilling coldness penetrated her skin. Feeling embarrassed that she was still treating him like a kid, Bin wryly smiled and awkwardly backed away while motioning for her to sit.
The day of the auction has arrived but, as promised, Bin won’t be attending. This auction was illegal and hosted by people from the underworld, brokers from the black market, to be precise. It will be held in a grand villa at the outskirts of Frankfurt, nevertheless, many famous individuals will be present. Expensive cars of all types were parked in front of the villa, guards were monitoring and patrolling the area and magical barriers were erected to protect the place from any incidents.“Invitation, please.”A tall man wearing a black suit stood at the entrance of the villa and handled the guests. Currently, he was facing Trewan, Beatrice, and Raymond, both wearing respectable clothes, fitting for such an even
Bin focused all of his attention on the doctor, he failed to notice the person sitting opposite the man.A cry of surprise and disbelief interrupted the momentary silence, it originated from the woman from the aforementioned guest. Her dark red long hair was resting on her shoulders, she wore a black leather jacket and jeans with the same color. This woman was someone Bin was familiar with but did not want to meet, especially in here. Dr. Scarlett, Ann’s little sister and Galen’s student, an extinguished individual and an expert in the medical field.Upon seeing the pale-faced Bin appear out of nowhere, Scarlett was truly shocked, in every sense of the word. It’s as if she had seen a ghost, her body wobbled to the side and she almost lost consciousness.
“Sit down first.”Jürgen frowned at the standing Bin, who was staring so intently at him. The full check-up took a toll on his old body, his back was hurting and he had a headache due to focusing on one thing for such a long period of time.Nevertheless, he did not rest but turned his monitors toward his patient and began his explanation“To not complicate things, I will divide the results into three parts; The Heart, the Mana Circuit, and the bones.”He took a deep breath and stared back at the expressionless youth,“First and foremost, let me say that the results were within my expectations. Beatrice already told me that
Two plans were concocted, one by Trewan and Raymond and the other by Beatrice. The first heist, meticulously planned by the self-proclaimed gentleman, is all about stealth and trickery, focusing on stealing the necklace without getting caught. In a way, it was a challenge between Trewan and Beatrice, meant to declare who’s the better thief.Though simplistic in nature, Trewan’s plan would begin just as the auction starts. Unfortunately, he can’t fake his identity as his face is widely-known, especially amongst the guests attending the auction, most of which are highly-extinguished magic-users and corrupt government officials that yield a considerable amount of power and influence, both in and out of their respective countries. For that reason, Trewan
“Abyss won’t you let you off!!”Iris, the 4-star General of Abyss, was defeated within 3 minutes. Initially, her fight started as soon as the bombs were set off. She tried getting the necklace but ended up battling the ferocious Beatrice. As a wounded magic-user, Beatrice could not hope to face Iris alone but, thankfully, Raymond was also present. The two ganged up on the woman and incapacitated her relatively quickly, however, they did not kill her as that would lead to disastrous consequences. The three were in a long hallway with Raymond holding Iris from behind while Beatrice was pointing a golden revolver at the latter’s head.A distance away, Trewan was resting his weight on his cane an
A peaceful week passed, in which Bin spent most of his time loitering in the hotel or resting in the hotel suite. Elmina and Betelgeuse toured the city, spending large sums of money to buy useless things. After the week passed, Raymond, Beatrice, and Trewan returned, at last. It didn’t look like they were maltreated but the investigation lasted a while. Furthermore, Beatrice had to pay for the damage she caused in the auction. The three friends were warmly welcomed by the now healthy Bin, the four soon getting seated and chatting for a bit.“Now, the big prize!”Trewan fetched the necklace of Petulance from his jacket pocket, softly putting it on the glass table.
“What’s so urgent that you have to barge in like that?”Busy handling some affairs, Bert Polaris got interrupted by a glass-wearing lively girl, who was his new assistant. Unlike Maher, whom he trusted a lot, Bert acted alone ever since the destruction of the facility’s HQ.The good thing is that Regina did not suspect him and considered him as a loyal confidant, which was all according to the plan. The girl, Akane, was Japenese and joined the Facility around four years ago. Although young, the girl was no less ambitious than her new boss, but no matter how much she tried to get close to him, the man indirectly rejected her.“Boss! I have something to report!”
The Blood Prince, as one of the three pillars of the Blood Facility, owned several companies, big and small. Currently, Bin and Betelgeuse were invited to one such company, precisely at the top floor, where the biggest conference room was on. Bin and the old man sat on one side whereas the Blood Prince sat opposite them. Standing right behind the crimson-haired young man was his only loyal subordinate, the armor-wearing woman, dutifully protecting him and cautiously inspecting the two guests. Fortunately, the Blood Prince’s response was quick and within a couple of days, he came to Frankfurt and this meeting was swiftly organized by the two parties. Although coming to the tiger’s den wasn’t ideal, it was still better than not meeting his target so Bin voiced no objecti
