“We still don’t know. We’re also looking for one of our agents… both of them disappeared at the same time.”
Emilia was staring daggers at Marshall as if she was about to pounce on him. It hasn’t been long since she reunited with both of her children yet Bin disappeared. Not only that but Abyss was sending its people after him for no convincing reason. Thus Marshall was subjected to Emilia’s fury and the skeptical and suspicious gazes of the rest of the apartment’s residents.
Bert Polaris was sitting on his personal chair and sipping some coffee, unperturbed by the commotion occuring in the entrance. Iris was frowning and throwing a reproachful look at him, though she would sometimes scrutinize the quiet Elise and the restless Jasmine.
“Stay close! CLOSER!”Although he disliked Mute Ryne and her meddlesome actions, that did not mean he would let her die. Yes, he did threaten her earlier but the girl was, after all, still young and innocent. Maybe she did what she did due to the pressure from Abyss’ agents… In anycase, the most important thing right now was to know where he is and what exactly is happening.Bin didn’t even have enough time to examine his surroundings. The moment he appeared here, he was attacked by those enormous golems, so he retaliated appropriately. Large golden hands made of sand rose from the ground and punched the closest moving rock, blowing it away.Mute Ryne was rooted to the ground, struck by fear and desperation. Her body was shaking uncontrollably
For close to twenty minutes, all Bin did was use the Sand Ability to slow down and hinder the nimble and outrageously powerful Rock King. The golem was simply too powerful for him to defeat, especially its monstrous raw strength, which was capable of shattering anything born of Black Magic.Bin was hit twice but his body, fortunately, was capable of enduring some of the damage without breaking. While some of his bones were definitely broken, his insensitivity to pain had allowed him to continue battling and continuously distance himself from the opponent.Alas, things did not look good for him as the meteors were getting more numerous and only he was affected by their flames and shock waves. The Rock King was like an immovable mountain and not even the falling flaming boulders were able to break it.
“Do make yourselves comfortable.” The Blood Prince seated himself on a luxurious crimson throne, crossed his legs and rested his chin on the back of his hand. He looked relaxed and curious about the fidgety Ryne, who stuck very close to Bin and even behind him, fearful and embarrassed to be looked so intently at. “To be honest, I did not expect you to come here with someone. Might I presume that she’s the famous Future Guide?” Before replying, Bin sat on one of the many chairs facing the Blood Prince and motioned for Ryne to do the same. While the girl was averting her gaze and curiously examining the room, which was decorated with numerous exotic statues; Its walls painted with petals and the floor was covered with a soft brown carpet akin to a bear’s fur.
“The calamity already happened, does it even matter to know the truth?”Even after hearing the first part of the truth, Bin was still skeptical and puzzled about this whole matter. Dranxia and its populace had nothing to do with him and whatever happened had nothing to do with him, or so he thought.“Why, yes. It very much does, Bin. So very much, actually. Each person, no matter how insignificant they are, has a role, and yours, as it happens, is not so minuscule. You can’t possibly tell me that you thought you were normal? At least not after you successfully undertook the Death and Resuscitation Ritual. And even before that, you weren’t normal either, physically or mentally.”As he stared back at the pale-faced youth, the Blood Prince gr
“Ryne!”Marshall Don Lunar jumped from his seat and appeared in front of the young girl almost instantaneously. He held the girl’s shoulders and checked her from head to toe with an anxious face.“Are you alrigh-”“She’s okay, no thanks to you.”A cold and mocking voice came from the side, and when the man looked, he saw a smug-looking Bin standing at the entrance of the office. Both of his hands were bound behind his back and to assure he couldn’t run away, Cecile, Alice, and Stanislaw were around him, all looking hostile and on full-alert.“What happened? What did you do to her?”
Once he was back in the living room, where everyone was waiting for him, Bin sat next to the dining table and maintained a short silence.Even though no one spoke, it was clear that they were waiting for him to explain what happened during his unexpected disappearance. The only people who were uninterested were Akane, Bert, and Iris. The latter two were bickering with each other whereas the Japanese secretary was brewing some tea while humming to herself. The three girls and his mother, on the other hand, were intently looking at the young man, their expressions demanding an answer.“Bin, thank you for your help.”Unexpectedly, Melissa, who was absent-minded just a minute ag
“I thought you were not interested in me.”Melissa curiously looked around the shabbily-decorated room then sat on the bed while softly chuckling. It was in the middle of night but, surprisingly, Bin asked her to come with him to his room. Jasmine and Rika were interested in tagging alone, however, Bin rudely told them to go home.“To think such a day would come. I’m really impressed by your boldness.”Instead of replying, Bin pulled the only chair and positioned in front of the girl. He solemnly sat down and cleared his throat before saying, “I don’t think it’s the time for your jokes, Melissa. You are a smart girl and I’m sure that, by now, you have a couple of guesses.” “Why the long face?”Shin materialized in the room, cackling maniacally and clapped his hands. He spoke with a mocking tone, gleefully watching Bin’s grave expression.“You think brooding will help you? Or are you that sad about your disagreement with the girl? Either way, it’s pathetic. To think you’d go out of your way to tell her! Ha! That’s the dumbest way to go about your plans.”Shin clapped again then marched toward Bin, stopping inches away, his head lowered to meet the latter’s absent-minded gaze.“Perhaps you’re thinking of what the Blood Prince said? Frankly, if it happens, at least you’ll snap out of it. You’ll come to knLife as A Servant Chapter 386 : The Maid & The Servant (1)
Bin’s eyes fluttered then slowly opened. He felt weight on his thighs and chest and when he looked down, he saw Jasmine sound asleep. She had a habit of hugging him in the middle of sleep and half of her body would be pressed against his. It has been a year and a half since they started dating and the embarrassment of sleeping naked or half-naked was no more. Their relationship only got better and they even moved to a new place with Nina, though it wasn’t far from Emilia and Elise. He wasn’t interested in getting a proper job, nevertheless, he did find an entertaining habit, which was quickly developed. With Jasmine’s support and Bert’s countless acquaintances, Bin had opened a cozy small café in a relatively empty street. It wasn’t the best of locations, but he did not care. Bin was fo
Brule River Boreal Forest State, Russia. The forest, excluding wild beasts, was generally devoid of humans. However, today, it was the total opposite. The Russian Government dispatched its military and barricaded the huge region. Jets were flying through the air, trying to scout the ground and eliminate the legions of Pests stationed around the river and in-between the countless trees. However, the most eye-catching thing was the crimson crack hanging in the sky, its blood-red light outshining even the sun. Its mere presence brought for a foreboding and eerie atmosphere as well as a thick fog of the same color. Although well-equipped, the Russian Government did not act recklessly or rashly. They kne
“I won’t be away for long, okay?” “Promise?” Nina, looking a bit sad, lowered her head and tried not to cry. To appease her, Bin gave her a tight hug and repeatedly reassured her that everything will be alright. It has been ten days since his return to Earth and though no one forced him to act, he deemed now as the right time to get rid of the Rifts once and for all. Fortunately, there were no spotted Rifts in M-nation, therefore, Bin would soon have to leave for other countries. “Next time, I’ll bring you to fun places! I will bring gifts back with me, too!” Jasmine also hugged Nina and playfully pulled her c
“Sorry for the wait.”-Angelica “It’s fine.” Replied Bin as he sat back down next to Jasmine and smiled at her parents. While they discussed things, he spent some time chatting with the servants and managed to clear things up with Hyue. It was a good decision to come here and mend past relationships now that he was moving on and turning a new leaf. Unlike earlier, Theodore looked calmer but he was still glaring at him. As for Angelica, her expression was never-changing and, as always, unreadable. “My husband and I are not against your relationship, Bin. I only ask that you take good care of her.” “It shall be done, Madam.” “It better do! If I hear
Bin and Jasmine walked for a while before they returned to the car.“I should be the one ‘walking you home’. Sadly, I don’t have a driver’s license.”Bin sighed and watched as she drove him back to the villa. The trip back home felt brief as they talked on the way, but when they reached their destination, the two were silent.“If you have nothing to do, let’s meet tomorrow.” Suggested Bin as he looked at the white-haired Silver Dragon.Of course, Jasmine agreed with a meek nod. As he was about to get off, she abruptly stretched her arm and grabbed his, thus making him halt his actions.“Jasmine?”
Late at night, after the family had dinner and everyone retreated to their rooms, Bin went downstairs and, as he had expected, found Emilia in the kitchen. She absent-mindedly looked at the dining table and not even his arrival was noticed. Only when he pulled a chair and sat right next to her did she twitch and look at him. “Mother, you’re still worried?” He faintly smiled and gently grasped her hands, which eased the frown on her face. “How can I not be when my son refuses to listen to reason? Everytime, I get to see you for a brief time and then you leave.” “
Barely half a day after he woke up, Bin was in perfect health. However, Ann insisted that stays for two additional days, to which he nodded in obedience. As expected, he received many visits from Bert and the rest. Elise and, especially, Emilia, came every couple of hours to check on him and bring food. “Umm… so, there’s a matter that warrants an explanation. But, I think it’s better to wait till you come home.” Elise, fidgeting, peeled an orange while uttering those vague words. “It would have been better if you stayed silent.” “I was just warning you. At least, that way, you won’t be as surprised. Just brace yourself… okay?” Life as A Servant
When Bin finally regained his consciousness and opened his eyes, he found himself in an overly-extravagant and spacious hospital room. He took a couple of seconds to look around before slowly sitting up.He wasn’t particularly injured and the overwhelming exhaustion he was subjected to prior and after opening the portal was completely gone, fortunately.“Bin.”Somewhat softly called out to him, thus did his gaze jump to the source of the voice. He was facing Elise, Emilia, and, unexpectedly, the now grown-up Ryne. The three were sitting on a wide leather sofa and chatting quietly only to be startled by his sudden awakening. His mother ran to his side and supported him, fearing that he was experiencing pain. “Hurry up, Bin!” Although she was fending off the horde of Pests, Jasmine could not fight forever. She remained close to Bin and continuously swung her sword at any incoming enemies. At the same time, Bin was strengthening his connection with the white crystal. Slowly but surely, a gentle wave of white light flowed from within his body and started taking the shape of a human-sized portal. Unfortunately, Jasmine was reaching her limits and ended up getting blasted far away. Her body crashed on the ground and rolled a couple of times. Although she hastily got back on her feet and ran back, it wasn’t fast enough to stop the Pests from reaching Bin. With all his concentration focused on the connection, Bin could not defend himChapter 495 : Reunion
