Everything happened so fast for anyone to react. The innocent couples relaxing in the park had fled the moment the beams appeared, as for Queen’s subordinates, they were dominated by an instinctive dread originating from Bin’s frightening aura and the numerous black vortexes spawning all around him.
Whatever Bin was doing, it was greatly affecting his surroundings and devouring any kind of light. It was as if a black hole materialized inside that park, sucking the light, Mana, and even the objects around it.
Chaos befell the area, giving rise to total madness. In a matter of seconds, the park, which had been peaceful and quiet, turned into a mass of darkness that made it impossible to peek what’s inside.
“Killing you won’t suffice.”
“His metabolism and even the genes are changing to an unrecognisable degree. I did not pay them too much attention because it was working in his favor, but if the change becomes too great then I’m afraid…”“You’re afraid of what? Continue…”Emilia coldly glared at the hesitant Chan Wu, her arms crossed and her boots nervously tapping the ground.“I’m afraid the same thing that happened to his arm will spread to his body. Bin might not care about his appearance, but that isn’t the problem here. A couple of scales might not make a big difference but, even if the genes get altered or mutate, you can’t expect a human to change to a dragon… the human body has limitations.”&
“Hm?”As Bin walked away and out of the dragon’s cave, he came face to face with Thomas, his biological father and the Principal of the magic academy. The man was motionlessly standing next to the now-opened entrance, his eyes locked onto Bin.“Came here to gloat or what?”Although Regina Vita Longa was killed by him earlier, Bin was still in a very bad mood. Not only was he mentally exhausted but his body was stiff and almost entirely numb. He felt the corrupted Mana circulate throughout every inch of his body, changing his Mana Circuit. He felt inexplicably powerful, but it definitely was not a good or comfortable feeling. It
“History can be rewritten, but not by me.”“And why is that? If you’re so great and all, why do you need me specifically?”The more Bin listened to the Blood Prince, the more perplexed he became. The young red-haired youth facing him was supposed to be an enigmatic and powerful individual, someone even he could not hope to defeat.“It’s because we’re eternally linked, my friend.”“Linked? How so?”“My fate relies on yours, and vice-versa. I understand that you might think Fate is an obscure and mysterious thing, however, once you
“A dragon? For real?”“Do I look like I’m joking?”Bert closed his eyes and pressed his fingers against his temples, trying to process what he had just heard. Excluding a couple of minor details, Bin told him about his encounter with Queen, Rika’s death, and how Yvarrar had subdued him.“I believe what you just said but… why are you telling me this? I don’t think you’ve changed so much that you’ll tell me everything like this.”Bert looked serious as he stared back at the youth, his fingers nervously tapping on the desk. He could feel something was off but he couldn’t exactly pinpoint it. “Bin! Where have you been?!”In the middle of the night, Bin unexpectedly called Emilia. Of course, his mother was shocked to hear his voice and learn that he was alright, but she still insisted that he comes to the laboratory.Bin refused, but he did tell her to meet him in a solitary park not far from Chan Wu’s private clinic. It did not take them long for the two of them to meet inside an empty park. Due to Bin’s devastating fight against Queen, the civilians were instructed to stay home until everything had been cleared. As she spotted the lonely silhouette of her son standing in the middle of nowhere, Emilia ran up to him and gave him a deep hug, her eyes a bit teary and her face flushedLife as A Servant Chapter 407 : Mother
“And why, pray tell, did you bring so many people, if your intent is not to cause me harm?”Bin was nonchalant about the fact he was cornered. He broke into a wide grin as he stared back at Marshall Don Lunar.“Abyss’ higher-ups want you to be interrogated regarding what happened in the Kyoon Park and your involvement with Regina Vita Longa. We also have been informed of your breach of contract with Mr. Paulo Ricci.”“Alright, let’s be civil and discuss everything you have said.”Bin chuckled and crossed his arms, seemingly unaffected by the subtly approaching members of the assassin squad.“First, the b
“Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. I am planning to come back, after all.”Bin raised his right hand and clenched it, causing a mass of blackened sand to surge from the ground and trap Marshall in a dome.Feeling the mana inside of his body increasing at a surprising rate, Bin did not even move his spot. He simply turned around and full-on unleashed his magic. It happened too fast for any of the enemies to react or to defend, even.First there was the unstoppable sand, which immobilized their feet instantaneously, then there was the darkness, which sucked every bit of their Mana in their body and transferred it to Bin.In just a couple of seconds, Lexander, his squad, and the Omega Team were all
For twenty minutes, Jasmine kept asking questions only for them to be answered vaguely, thus leaving her frustrated and unsatisfied. Her parents, however, kept silent and listened to the conversation. It was unknown why Theodore was so angry with Bin, but the fact he kept grunting and snorting were a clear sign that he didn’t welcome him in his home.As for Angelica, she had the same fake smile on her face as she intently stared at Bin, trying to read his stoic expression or at least get a hint or two.Unfortunately, by the end of their relatively long questioning, Jasmine wasn’t the least bit pleased. Apart from what he said at the beginning, all the rest were ‘I don’t know’ or ‘I haven’t been told yet’.
Bin’s eyes fluttered then slowly opened. He felt weight on his thighs and chest and when he looked down, he saw Jasmine sound asleep. She had a habit of hugging him in the middle of sleep and half of her body would be pressed against his. It has been a year and a half since they started dating and the embarrassment of sleeping naked or half-naked was no more. Their relationship only got better and they even moved to a new place with Nina, though it wasn’t far from Emilia and Elise. He wasn’t interested in getting a proper job, nevertheless, he did find an entertaining habit, which was quickly developed. With Jasmine’s support and Bert’s countless acquaintances, Bin had opened a cozy small café in a relatively empty street. It wasn’t the best of locations, but he did not care. Bin was fo
Brule River Boreal Forest State, Russia. The forest, excluding wild beasts, was generally devoid of humans. However, today, it was the total opposite. The Russian Government dispatched its military and barricaded the huge region. Jets were flying through the air, trying to scout the ground and eliminate the legions of Pests stationed around the river and in-between the countless trees. However, the most eye-catching thing was the crimson crack hanging in the sky, its blood-red light outshining even the sun. Its mere presence brought for a foreboding and eerie atmosphere as well as a thick fog of the same color. Although well-equipped, the Russian Government did not act recklessly or rashly. They kne
“I won’t be away for long, okay?” “Promise?” Nina, looking a bit sad, lowered her head and tried not to cry. To appease her, Bin gave her a tight hug and repeatedly reassured her that everything will be alright. It has been ten days since his return to Earth and though no one forced him to act, he deemed now as the right time to get rid of the Rifts once and for all. Fortunately, there were no spotted Rifts in M-nation, therefore, Bin would soon have to leave for other countries. “Next time, I’ll bring you to fun places! I will bring gifts back with me, too!” Jasmine also hugged Nina and playfully pulled her c
“Sorry for the wait.”-Angelica “It’s fine.” Replied Bin as he sat back down next to Jasmine and smiled at her parents. While they discussed things, he spent some time chatting with the servants and managed to clear things up with Hyue. It was a good decision to come here and mend past relationships now that he was moving on and turning a new leaf. Unlike earlier, Theodore looked calmer but he was still glaring at him. As for Angelica, her expression was never-changing and, as always, unreadable. “My husband and I are not against your relationship, Bin. I only ask that you take good care of her.” “It shall be done, Madam.” “It better do! If I hear
Bin and Jasmine walked for a while before they returned to the car.“I should be the one ‘walking you home’. Sadly, I don’t have a driver’s license.”Bin sighed and watched as she drove him back to the villa. The trip back home felt brief as they talked on the way, but when they reached their destination, the two were silent.“If you have nothing to do, let’s meet tomorrow.” Suggested Bin as he looked at the white-haired Silver Dragon.Of course, Jasmine agreed with a meek nod. As he was about to get off, she abruptly stretched her arm and grabbed his, thus making him halt his actions.“Jasmine?”
Late at night, after the family had dinner and everyone retreated to their rooms, Bin went downstairs and, as he had expected, found Emilia in the kitchen. She absent-mindedly looked at the dining table and not even his arrival was noticed. Only when he pulled a chair and sat right next to her did she twitch and look at him. “Mother, you’re still worried?” He faintly smiled and gently grasped her hands, which eased the frown on her face. “How can I not be when my son refuses to listen to reason? Everytime, I get to see you for a brief time and then you leave.” “
Barely half a day after he woke up, Bin was in perfect health. However, Ann insisted that stays for two additional days, to which he nodded in obedience. As expected, he received many visits from Bert and the rest. Elise and, especially, Emilia, came every couple of hours to check on him and bring food. “Umm… so, there’s a matter that warrants an explanation. But, I think it’s better to wait till you come home.” Elise, fidgeting, peeled an orange while uttering those vague words. “It would have been better if you stayed silent.” “I was just warning you. At least, that way, you won’t be as surprised. Just brace yourself… okay?” Life as A Servant
When Bin finally regained his consciousness and opened his eyes, he found himself in an overly-extravagant and spacious hospital room. He took a couple of seconds to look around before slowly sitting up.He wasn’t particularly injured and the overwhelming exhaustion he was subjected to prior and after opening the portal was completely gone, fortunately.“Bin.”Somewhat softly called out to him, thus did his gaze jump to the source of the voice. He was facing Elise, Emilia, and, unexpectedly, the now grown-up Ryne. The three were sitting on a wide leather sofa and chatting quietly only to be startled by his sudden awakening. His mother ran to his side and supported him, fearing that he was experiencing pain. “Hurry up, Bin!” Although she was fending off the horde of Pests, Jasmine could not fight forever. She remained close to Bin and continuously swung her sword at any incoming enemies. At the same time, Bin was strengthening his connection with the white crystal. Slowly but surely, a gentle wave of white light flowed from within his body and started taking the shape of a human-sized portal. Unfortunately, Jasmine was reaching her limits and ended up getting blasted far away. Her body crashed on the ground and rolled a couple of times. Although she hastily got back on her feet and ran back, it wasn’t fast enough to stop the Pests from reaching Bin. With all his concentration focused on the connection, Bin could not defend himChapter 495 : Reunion
