Contract

Bai chen stood in front of the bear's body , stared at it for a while then withdrew his attention and started taking care of the wound on his chest .

Though he managed to avoid being severely injured but there was still a big contusion on his chest . During the fight he was able to suppress the pain but now he can feel a bit of pain . He started to concentrate on the wounded area while circulating breathing technique to help healing his wound faster .

His breathing technique can play an auxiliary role by increasing the amount of oxygen in the blood stream which can heal wounds faster, it keeps your brain sharp, it keeps your heart healthy and can make sure that all your other organs are functioning healthily though the healing effects depend upon proficiency of the user .

Right not he has not reached to the point where he can perform the breathing technique unconsciously which can only he achieved when you are well versed with the skill , even though that being the case, his breathing technique can bring him a better recovery ability which is apparent as chip displayed that his ruptured blood capillaries have started recovering , it would take only half a day to recover , this recovery period can be shortened if he can master this skill .

After Bai chen rested a bit he left towards the pangolin , although the fight was short but still it placed a huge mental pressure on someone like him who fought for the first time in his life .

Bai chen walked deeper in the marshland and approached the place where he left the pangolin .

When he saw the pangolin quietly waiting for his return on the lotus leaf , a smile formed on his face . The smile wasn't because of the pangolins obedient behaviour but because he has confirmed that this pangolin's intelligence was above your average beast .

Though wasn't the intelligence that attracted him , the first thing that piqued his interest was his chakra . Wild beast didn't have a chakra refining technique with them and even if they did with their intelligence they couldn't comprehend it , in this case they have to rely on hunting other beast to grow .

There is only a wisp of chakra in the body of a young beast which they have to increase by hunting others , some beast may possess chakra more than just a wisp which reveals their talents . This pangolin talent was really good , despite being young the chakra it possessed was more than Bai chen .

Bai chen really wanted to sign a contract with it because he knew that he will not find another beast with a better talent .

"Hey , are you willing to be my companion" Bai chen asked . Though he could forcefully sign a contract with it but being a companion means that they have to fight together in the future and Bai chen don't want it to fight for him unwillingly.

Faced with Bai chen's question the pangolin nodded his head without hesitation. Smile on Bai chen face grew bigger , he bend down , bit his finger and smeared the blood on the pangolin .

With this action of his the contract was established . Bai chen could feel the he has formed a connection with the pangolin . Through the connection he can summon it anytime and anywhere.

"OK , now its time to give you a name." Bai chen started brooding and within a short time came up with a name .

"Artie , from now your name will be Artie "

The pangolin also started to nod his head when he heard his name .

Though Bai chen have established the contract with Artie but right now it was too weak and couldn't be of any help to him , faced with this problem Bai chen picked up Artie and returned to the place where he killed the bear .

The best way for Artie to grow fast was to let him devour this bear . Devouring such a big beast would take some time so it would be best to carry its body to a safe place and let it eat but carrying such a heavy body to a safe place was just a dream for him , the only thing he could do now was to set traps around the parameter to prevent other beast from approaching here .

Once Bai chen was done with setting the traps and made sure that there was no danger around , he left the place and dashed towards his Bai clan , since his goal have been achieved it didn't make any sense to spend more time in the jungle .
