The air of the forest washes over my face as I hear my name echoing through the trees around me and it almost seemed like I was being hunted.
I tried to listen to the monstrous voice getting louder in my head as I looked around wondering who I had become now but then I discovered that it was me scaring myself all along.
All this was a fiction of my mind and I have been played like a scattered puzzle without a certain direction but this was really all my fault at first.
"Hey James...uhm I'm sorry about everything because it is not you... It is Me." I paused in my voice, hating myself for just saying that.
Then I continued.
"My parents are moving again and I really tried my best to make them change their mind to keep them here so I could be with You." I said, holding myself from sobbing over the phone.
"But I'm sorry James. It didn't work, so please... Try not to look for me okay, because I don't think it would be worth the stress, I love you but I have to do this and follow my parents. Goodbye!" I said sending it to him as I inhale in and exhale out with a tear rolling of my eyes as the thought of him made me sad. That was all I Could muster to say into the voicemail of my now ex-boyfriend.
We've been dating ever since I knew what the word dating meant. And now that I'm going to college...I don't even Want to Think about it. I heard my name being called by my mom. "Lina! Come down here Honey.
Your father and I want to speak to You." I heard her say in her decent voice. I wiped the remaining tears that threatened to fall as I weaved my way through my Room stumbling on some of the things I had stacked on the floor. I used the handle of our staircase to slide down and got down the stairs in a flash as I headed to answer to the request of my mother.
I walked forward to meet my mother’s open arms as she hugged me lovingly before I let go.
We walked into our massive living room with all the things that spackled in it. I met my dad pacing as he anxiously waited for me and my mom to show up. Immediately we showed up, my dad stopped and sat down while my mom massaged my back as we sat opposite him. After a short while, he finally took a deep breath and spoke up.
"Lina, I know this is not comfortable for you and you probably hate me for this. But don't please... I'm trying to do this for your own good." He says a person in his voice like he was trying to take a breath.
"For the good of you and your mom, I love you both so much and I want what's best for you because that is the only thing that can make me happy, cause I know that once you have finally discovered who you are... Things will become better before you and for the family as well." He says, looking at me.
"What's going on dad? Aren't you coming with us? You know we need you!" I said to him just to see his lips shake in that exact same way that I was sure meant that he was not in the right state of mind and wished she could tell me... No?
"No, I wouldn't be coming with you but I will send my most trusted advisor to be your escort." He says looking elsewhere. "But dad! You said." I interrupted.
"I know what I said honey but things change and I can't be with you well at least not yet. But I promise to call you every night before bed Time and you must promise me that you wouldn't use your powers to cause any troubles ok" he says holding my hands. I honestly wasn't cool with this but there wasn't much I could do about it. My dad was the most famous Billionaire of the Northern borders of Los Angeles. And I, his only soon to be 18-year-old daughter, has to live with different bodyguards on her tail every time.
Honestly, I am half happy I'm leaving los Angeles at least... I would not have to deal with people giving me weird stares as hefty looking bodyguards Follow me every time. "Okay. I won't use my powers to cause trouble but will use it only when I need to." I replied to my father and he smiled.
I was sad.
Sad that my beloved daddy wasn't coming with me to New York, sad that my beloved daddy wasn't going to be there, though in my early years in college of education. Sad that my beloved daddy isn't going to have that peaceful and quiet life he truly desires because of his day to day activities and character.
"I know you're sad and I'm sad too but I am hoping to pull off one last one and close this deal before I come join you in New York to live a quiet life.'' he says.
"Yes daddy, that is exactly what I want you to do because you know, you are getting older and to keep on working doesn't seem healthy for you, like come on you have made all the money in the world or maybe you still want some more." I said smiling.
"That's my Lina bear." He replies.
With that we Both stood up to give each other a bear hug and after a few minutes later my mom came to join in to complete the family group hug.
But then, it started again. My powers had become active.
And I was about to run off before my mum grabbed me and injected me.
I was staring at the class window.
"Calm down Lina, Daddy is here... Just try to control your powers." My father said as I freed myself of my powers and all the cars, I had levitated up into the air landed back to the ground.
And all the cars outside were alarming.
"This is why you need to go to New York; you have to learn how to control your powers, you're really special my child and we have to know what gifts the universe has given to you." my father says in return as he hugs me. And my mum hugs me from behind too.
I'd learn how to... I promise I will.
It is morning Hours.
I was all dressed up in favorite yellow shorts, a white tank top and knee length Booths and used my magic to get my wrist watch over my wrist.
My dad had booked the next available flight to New York and Hawaii while my mom and I helped my dad with his suitcases into the car.
The day was slowly coming to an end and once we were done packing... We hopped into the car on our way to the airport with my mom on the driver's side.
As the house slowly faded the closer, we were to the airport and the closer I was to missing my dad for another year or two while on his business trip.
I sign for the back seat of the driver side as I Look out the window.
The sky was changing color as it had a right mixture of Grey and orange. Watching the sky closely I could see a tint of violet shiny so bright that it made my rare necklace shimmer as the sun was slowly setting.
My dad placed his palm on my knee from the passenger side and that brought my mind back to the present. I looked at him giving him a sad smile before letting my palm rest on his.
The ride to the airport was in total silence and neither of us wanted to say a word until we meet again. Because we somehow knew we didn't have the courage to Wave goodbye.
I had fallen asleep staring out the window looking at how beautiful the sky was, of which it wasn't until my dad shook my knee. Lightly did I realize we had gotten to the airport.
I gave a quick smile before getting out of the car to get his suitcase out of the boot. My mom got out of the car simultaneously with my dad as she came round to help me with his suitcase and luggage. It still amazes me how they pull It off every time.
Entering the airport, we had 30mins to check in my dad and so we went straight for it. Once we were done, the few minutes left we walked him towards the point where he would be checked in. I heard through the loud speaker the next flight which is that of my dad's.
Few minutes later I began to hear people chatting as mental images were created in my mind. I could feel my hearing abilities increasing as I was able to hear different conversations that were coming from different sides of the airport clearly.
It was like; I could hear everything. I couldn't take it anymore and it wasn't until I collapsed that my mother realized that I wasn't taking my father's departure very lightly.
I woke up to a splitting headache and my heart hammering faster than that of a human. surveying my surroundings... I saw people dressed in white with a mask covering their nose and mouth.
They were wheeling me away on a collapsible bed.
My mother was right with them saying things I couldn't quite hear anymore; my sense organs began to fail me as I drifted into a deep sleep.
My powers acted up again.
Holding my head tight with my Left hand I made an attempt to sit Up as I rested my back on something soft. I tried to Open eyes but I shut it immediately because of the bright light illuminating the room.
I closed my eyes as I tried to calm myself.
I took slow and steady breaths listening carefully to my surroundings.
I heard distant voice's as they were talking and I couldn't really make out who they were but from the authority in their voices I could tell they were important to wherever it is I am.
Listening in again I Heard a piercing cry of a baby and I flushed at how beautiful the baby looked even with fresh blood all over Her.
"Congratulations" I heard the doctor say as he announced her gender.
I smiled again remembering how I had Witnessed the birth of my nephew. The next thing I heard was the beeping of a monitor and the rush of doctors and nurses towards the sound. It was then I opened my eyes to the realization that I was in a hospital.
So, we ended up not traveling?
I gasp for air that I didn't know I was holding. Looking around my surroundings I noticed I was dripping and a bandage was round my head.
There was a tray of food on the coffee table besides and I suddenly felt hungry. I picked up the food without a second thought as I began to eat.
I was almost done with my meal when I ate on its own accord. I picked up a familiar voice and I listened carefully as I heard their conversation.
"I'm so sorry for your loss my dear" I heard someone saying in the environment. I was confused cause I wasn't dead, who could they be talking about. I finished the last or my meal gulping down my water and put the emptying plates away. Listening in again I heard a cracked sob.
It was from a little girl this time and I'm sure she just turned seventeen from the way she sounded. The doctor interrupted our little reunion as he began to ask me questions.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
"Fine, I guess. though my head hurts a little." I said to him.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"I am called Lina." I replied to him.
I see my mom show a sign of relief and I look lost asking Her what happened as I looked at him.
"Um, I was at the airport with my dad, You?" He asked.
"Eighteen years old." I replied in return, beginning to wonder why I was being asked all these questions. "And what year are we in?" He asked.
"Wait lol, what kind of question is that? I'm not a crazy mum, I think my powers..." I said before my mum interrupted me.
"Lina!" She says, looking at me.
I quickly remembered that no one knows anything about my powers.
Or what I know I really was.
Hmm! I hope I'm not Coco.
"Well on the contrary...You Are perfectly in shape, nothing to worry about. You are only here because you fainted at the airport. But don't worry... Come this time tomorrow you will be free to go." He replies to me in return.
I checked the Time on the coffee table beside me as it read 3:30pm.
I stared back at them and the doctor decided to Give my mom some alone time with me right away.
He took the tray of the empty plate with him. Immediately he closed the door, I turned to ask my Mom the one question I have been dying to know the answer to.
"How long was I out?" I asked her.
I noticed her fidgeting with her hands and I had to give her a staring gaze so she wouldn't avoid my question after a will of contemplation... She finally spoke up and I was listening.
"Three weeks." She says to me.
"What!" I replied to her shocked and the pillow close to me busted.
With feathers flying almost everywhere.
"You are a lightning witch Lina, you're a threat to many and you must promise me that you would make sure that no one finds out about your abilities or I and your father won't be able to save you." She said to me with her eyes watered with tears and I hugged her.
"But... Mum, why does my case have to be different?" I asked my mother in return. "Child you're the daughter of an alpha, a mixture of three great bloods, that of a witch, a vampire and an alpha's blood, so I doubt your case won't be different, don't you think so?" She. Asked me in return and I smiled in return.
"We are yet to know what you really are Lina and so, for now... You have to remain silent and hide your powers because if the world finds out about you, then your life and even that of the people you love dearly might all be gone to waste." She explains.
"Well then, I hope I find out who I am before the time I have goes to waste." I said to her as she looked into my eyes.
"Now child you have to rest." My mum says as walks out of the room and I looked at myself through the mirror that was just right in front of the direction that I was facing now. My eyes seemed to be seeing my face over the mirror but then I later understood the reason why I enjoyed the looks of it, just for me to figure out that the reason I was lost staring at the mirror was because of the beautiful scenery of the cloud outside. The thunder striking with lightning spreading through the cloudy weathered sky was amazing to the sight. I felt attracted to it. So, I took a step towards the window to admire the beauty of the lightning that was spackling so beautifully in the sky and it continued in that way until you it seemed as though it was getting more greater and harder as the thunder strikes even more bigger than before. Illuminating the whole environment with li
My sister will eventually come to my rescue and the other time I'd be the one rescuing Her. It wasn't always like this; we once had our happiness ever after. But all that ended when we were deported from South America because my dad tried some funny business, he never told about us with some wolves. I was ten and my sister was six. We've spent seven years with hash parenting, especially from my father. And I don't think he is stopping anytime soon. the thought of him discarding Mom just like that even though she died, he didn't make an effort to ease our pain. We are just suffering and it is continuing and that made my blood boil and resulted in me saying my next word while still on the ground with my sister close to me. "Do Your worst! You don't deserve to be called father." I said to him in return. "What did you say child?" He was provoked in his words. "Do your worst! You d
I had now reached home, I rushed towards my mum telling her that I had encountered the moon goddess. "Honestly honey, are you sure we shouldn't go to the hospital? Maybe do a quick check up, because I don't want to believe the moon Goddess revealed herself to you, we need to go to the hospital to confirm." She says. "No mother, I'm fine, I just don't know what it meant by what she said... What the Moon goddess said." I replied. "Wow! she appeared to you? Oh, my goodness! What exactly happened?" She asked so inquisitively. "Well, I was jogging to grandma's house when it all happened. A gigantic dog like a wolf-like creature jumped at me, tackled me to the ground and after I got it off me... Thinking that it was an accident but then..." I said stopping. "What happened!?" She asked in return. "It attacked me again but I was lucky enough to swerve out
I couldn't believe what she just said. Is she for real or not? So many thoughts were running through my already muddled mind that if I tried to think of a logical explanation I might explode. So, I thought I'd ask her. "What exactly do you mean by hybrid? And please tell me if this is some kind of prank from one of your TV shows." I asked her in return as I stood up to pace the room trying to find any hidden camera around. "Calm down honey, a hybrid is one who is a wolf and a vampire and a witch." She explains in detail. "A werewolf to be persisted, that is you and your father had Both the ability from the two worlds but you have three worlds of these creatures in you and because of these powers the universe have made you a lightning witch." She explained further and my lips flipped open in shock. This was what I had been dreading my whole life for.
- Lina - "They dislike one another because they think that they are far superior, and because of that, a challenge is born and each side rises to the occasion, ready to prove to the other that they are the greatest but the people who suffer this most are the witches." She says. "Vampires and werewolves are the same, each side thinks that they are the superior race, and they feel the need to go against each other to prove it and with this they couldn't be a balance." She adds to his former sentence. "Another thing is that they are very different from one another, and as history has shown us countless times, people often seek to destroy what is different and the witches have used this to grow stronger than them." She states as she looks at me. "Vampires are often portrayed as aristocratic and noble beings with an insatiable lust for blood and they have utilized the use of
"Very funny Lina, you don't just wake you one morning and the next thing is to devour your mate or as the vampire call it your zing, just because he or she is Human." She replies to me. I giggled nervously because this is all still new to me. "You Don't?" I asked, smiling. "Of course, you aren't silly. Do You think Mavis Dracula From Hotel Transylvania would be able to live with herself if she married Johnathan in one month and ate him alive the next?" She asked. "Awwn those two are the cutest version of a monster human marriage." I replied to her holding her hands. "I know right, they are so in sync... But this is real world Lina, trust me honey, vampire, werewolves, witches and other monsters out there they don't believe in hotel Transylvania kind of shit." She says it hurts my feelings. "Heck they don't even know that kind of movie. Hahaha" She
"I'm going to Bed." I said to her. "What? Why? don't you want to see grandma again? Or learn more?" She asked me in return as I walked off. "Sorry mum, all this is becoming too much for me." I said as I had already walked steps away from her as she sat in the parlor staring at me. I couldn't absorb any more information and I felt like I was going to explode if she kept feeding me with so much. I was on the stairs that lead to my room when I responded to her questions. "Later." I replied. "Oh, common Lina, don't be like that, at least learn about your abilities!" She chips into the conversation. "Also, later." I said entering my room. I shut the door behind me as I finally found myself some time to free up. Then I walked towards my bed and crashed on It as tears rolled off my eyes. Why was I chosen? How do I protect t
"It was said that the being can climb walls without the aid of any equipment and it can climb up or down the steepest walls, the way insects do much like Spiders enabling them to seek refuge in places where no mere mortal can reach." She explains. Then I collected the scroll from my mum reading through it. "The hybrid will have limited control over the weather and they could raise a fog or summon a storm to cover their tracks. Older creatures may have other magical powers such as necromancy or alchemy but this hybrid will have all and this will be for a reason" he writes. "Whoa! that's a lot of power and potential that comes with being a hybrid?" I asked. "Not every hybrid, this is for a special being and that is not all dear, you are forgetting you're part witch too." My mum replies to me. "Oh, of Cause, let's see what that scroll has to say.... Wait there is something
