Zuana

During the sunset, the sky was colorful just like Liumira in a colorful nebula in space. But far away in the east, there were huge dark clouds which were releasing huge amount of lightening. Far away from him, probably on Fonare sea, Seleneya, the turquoise glowing sea, there was going to be a huge storm. As he ran and got away from the soldiers, he knew he wasn’t safe until the darkness could cover the area totally.
Some bunches of trees had glowing fruits. These fruits would always glow with a colorful light. Well, this would help him to find his way in the dark. His energy was low. Way too low. The negative feelings were drowning him faster. Yet, he had to find a long distance to hide himself.
The grass was soft, because this morning it rained, and the earth had enough water to grow plants faster. There were blue lighted, glowing tiny creatures moving along the grass and the bunches of trees as he ran through them.
Ivole. The deserted young soldier once, and now the runner. After he disobeyed his commanding officer, he immediately knew this was going to happen. He was outcasted and deserted the next day. He was told to wait for his trial. He was going to wait. But then something else happened. A man died and he was blamed to be the killer. And now he was running to save his life, because he was wanted to be killed by the end of today as the laws in Zuana required so.
He didn’t know how many soldiers and assassins were after him. The reward for him wasn’t much but it was still a reward. And this wasn’t even the worst part. They knew he was here and now the hide and seek was on the stage. The other worst part was that there was sea in front of him. The final destination where he would have to find a way to live or die horribly.
In his left side, a bird flew, and this made him jump out of nowhere. He suddenly saw it was dark. The colorful sky was gone and now covered by the scary clouds. It all happened too fast. The huge dark and lightening clouds were now even closer. The layers of clouds in sky had different content of darkness.
He smelled the sea. Soon, he would hear even the waves. Then what?
Oh, damn it.
What was he going to do? Dying couldn’t be his first choice. He wanted to live. That urge desire to live was dense and strong. A living being would want so. No matter what happens.
He ran through the bunches and suddenly there were no more plants. Only dark tall-like rocks and some other versions of stone formations were lying through the ground. And then there was the sea.
He was fast. He always was. But today, he didn’t have that energy. Normally, Ivole had that unique talent to flow like air as a floating energy wave. But the soldiers and probably the assassins had amazing talents and there were probably the trackers after him. This was a bad moment. He was vulnerable alone. And he needed help. And there was no one or nothing could give him that.
The darkness was now full of silence, so he had to keep quieter. He slowed down his speed and stood away from the dark formatted rocks and stone pillars. Because there were probably some sleeping animals around those formations and he wouldn’t want to scare them. This wouldn’t end well.
Not at all.
He followed a path which probably was used by animals in the nearby. The path seemed nice and wide. He wasn’t sure if this was a good chance or a bad one. One thing he was sure of that he was getting closer to the sea and he had to find a way to get away to safety.
Safety?
Was that even a joke? The damn nation was nuts. In their bad days, their government declared war to Fonare. For goodness sake, Fonare was probably the most powerful land in Liumira and now this stupid country was at war. Well, probably Fonare wouldn’t even bother to worry about it, but Zuana was developing some air technology and soon they would be able to fly over the sea and bomb Fonare.
He shouldn’t have worried about this. Because for this very moment, his own lifetime was shorter than the war problem. He wanted to float in the air, but he didn’t have enough energy. Instead of that, he kept running. As much as he could. Yet his mind was full of thoughts and worries. Soon, he had to escape. To where? How?
The questions weren’t good nor would lead him to somewhere better.
The formations ended suddenly and there was Seleneya. Dark, wavy, and loud. The waves crushed the shore, and the floating clouds were huge. Literally the biggest dangerous clouds he had ever seen.
The lightening in them was jumping throughout the sky and the darkness was making it even scarier.
End of this journey…
There was nothing to help him. Only a mad sea and a storm ahead. He didn’t think much. He just ran to his left, up the shore to the north. Because in the south, the continent would end sooner, and the entire shore would still be Zuana. At least for a long distance. The north side would give him a better chance. But not enough to escape in time. If miraculously he could find a way to run from Zuana, he would find himself in the south Igi Hivertul. That stupid country was also a terrible place, but at least no one would try to kill him in there. Of course, if he somehow could find a way to cross the border which was closed and guarded, and the controls were more than usual due to the war activities that Zuana was now terrorizing.
But to be honest, he didn’t think that he could make it to there. He would probably be killed or captured because the soldiers were now even closer. He could sense it. Their terrible energies were all around.
Along the shore, the sandy beach, the big noisy waves and the war between the ground and the water didn’t give him much hope. He ran with his basic instincts. Barely ahead of his assassins. As he kept running, he suddenly saw a dark object moving along the waves near the beach but far enough in the water. A moving object? A boat maybe?
He didn’t give much of a hope, but he increased his speed and ran to there. The waves were getting bigger and the wind were stronger here, but not as much as to be a problem for him to catch that thing.
The next moment, he was swimming. The salty cold waves crushed his face and burned his eyes, but he didn’t care. His body was out of energy, so his being was more solid than ever. Yet, he was able to swim. The distance between him and the moving object shortened as he kept swimming. Soon, the object would be invisible due to the increasing darkness.
And it was a boat. An old and almost useless one. But this too, was still a chance. If somehow, he could find a way to sail away, he could hide himself in the darkness of the sea for the night. And this could just get better. The longer he survives the better chances he would come up with.
The old wooden skeleton of the boat was wet. He slogged to climb but then he was on board. He lied down on the old wet wooden floor and the boat was like a crib waving, making him feel even worse. Soon, not far from now, he would be out of his moves. He tried to crawl and tried to get inside. It took longer than usual, but when he found himself inside, he saw the ceiling was gone and the dark stormy sky was upon him.
Hope.
Such a false future feeling.
The boat would probably sink as the storm was getting stronger. He would die in the middle of nowhere. Alone. Sad. Scared. Injured.
He breathed away. His warm breath met the air, his arms were on the cold and old floor. The smell of the sea was dense, and the seesaw was going to kill him before the actual storm hits him.
But then again, he was free.
He closed his eyes and let the faith and his destiny take place. Accepting what was coming wasn’t easy but there wasn’t a second hope for him. He was literally out of his options. This feeling suddenly gave him peace.
And then the clouds lightened. A huge lightening hit the sky and burst it into shredded pieces of space.
There it is, he thought, my death appeared.
This too, wasn’t his destiny.
