Logan stood outside the door of Mia’s parents’ private lounge. Despite everything he had endured in the past 24 hours, this might be the most difficult task yet coming clean to Mia’s parents about his true identity.

Mia had left him, and Logan knew he had no choice but to try and win her back. But to do that, he needed the support of her family.

He knocked gently, and after a brief moment, Mia’s mother called out, "Come in." He pushed open the door and found Mia's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leinhart, sitting at a small table.

Mrs. Leinhart’s sharp eyes were quick to assess him as he entered. Mr. Leinhart looked more composed, though Logan could see the faint line of tension in his jaw.

"Logan," Mrs. Leinhart greeted him with a slight nod, her tone formal but not hostile. Logan was used to the tension between them.

Since the day he married Mia, her parents had looked down on him, believing he was nothing more than a "broke boy" who wasn’t good enough for their daughter.
