Chapter 13

Regina pulled away to shower his face with kisses, hugging him like it was the last time she would see him. Jonathan grumbled something under his breath and grabbed her face then crashed his lips on hers, kissing her deeply.

“I haven't kissed your lips for days, I'm starved. I wonder how I survived that long without my lips.”

Regina giggled then rolled her eyes, “Worry not, you have me all to yourself.”

Jonathan smirked then gave her another kiss.

"You did it!" Regina exclaimed, her eyes shining with pride. "You really got in touch with the representative, I'm sorry I doubted you, I shouldn't have but I was just under so much pressure,” she glanced down from embarrassment.

Jonathan smiled and used a finger to tilt her head back up so he was looking deep into her dazzling eyes, “It's alright. I understand perfectly. And if it helps you feel better you should know that If I had been in your situation I would doubt me too.”

Regina chuckled with an eye roll, “But how did you do it? What did you do? I'm certain you didn't just barge into the biggest company in the country and ask to see the representative, what happened? Tell me everything,” she asked eagerly.

Jonathan felt a pang of anxiety as she asked but he quickly covered it with a nervous smile. He was not ready to tell Regina yet about the truth of his identity, yes he trusted her and loved her dearly but he still felt like it was not the right time.

Regina led him to the chair and sat down in his lap once he was settled. “Tell me everything, I want the full gist and nothing left out.”

He shook his head, “I can't tell you.”

Regina looked taken aback and frowned, “Wait, what? Why?”

“It was part of the deal I made and_,”

Regina cut him shut, “But I am your wife, no secrets remember.”

Jonathan's eyes brightened and his smile returned.

“What? Is there something on my face?” Regina asked, confused by his reaction.

“You just called yourself my wife, you don't have any idea how good that is to hear.”

Regina's smile returned and she giggled, “I believe I have an idea, it is also so good to say. But_,”

“Shh,” he cut her shut with a finger against her lips, “We'll talk tomorrow, it's late now and I need you to get all the rest, especially now that you are resting for two.”

Regina pouted but didn't press further, “We'll talk about this tomorrow?”

Jonathan rolled his eyes, “Sleep first, remember.”

Regina giggled and he swept her off her feet and led her towards the tiny hallway.

….

It was a call from Jonathan's in-laws that woke him up the next morning, just as dawn began to break.

“Get your ass off the bed and come out I am here waiting for you, what kind of fool are you I have been knocking for a long time now,”

Jonathan jolted out of bed at the sound of his father-in-law yelling. He shot up and his action caused Regina to jolt awake,

“What happened?” Regina asked.

Her questions were answered with a loud knock, making Jonathan realize that Regina's father had cut the call.

“Who's that?”

“Your parents,” he said dryly and rolled off the bed to get dressed. Regina, still half-asleep, rose to her feet and began dressing.

"We are going to the T- Diamond Company to sign the contract. Hurry up!" Regina's mother said hastily.

Jonathan frowned, “We?”

“Well obviously you, who else will drive us?” Regina's father hissed.

It was at the tip of Jonathan's tongue to remind them that he had been fired but he kept quiet.

“Just give me a few minutes to dress up and I will be right out,” he said and retreated in and almost slammed the door to their face but stopped himself on time.

"Sorry," Regina murmured, guilty.

Jonathan managed a small smile, "It's fine, I know how they are."

Jonathan doesn't even have time for breakfast or a good morning kiss as he sits behind the wheel driving his in-laws to his company. The atmosphere in the car was tense, and his in-laws were discussing something he paid no attention to, it wasn't until Regina's father tapped him aggressively on his shoulder that he snapped back to reality.

“Remember do not ruin this for us, be on your best behavior," Regina's father ordered, he did not have time to respond as the company came into view. "One wrong move and I promise you will be out of the job." Regina's father added.

Jonathan rolled his eyes, “I was already fired,” he grumbled under his breath as Regina's parents stepped out of the car
