Isabella Kovarick was shocked to the core of her soul about what happened at the meeting. She couldn’t believe that she knew nothing after all. She had once thought that knowledge about her powers and the fact that she was not the biological daughter of King Saldus was the hardest thing he would have to deal with. She was amazed to realise that that was nothing at all compared to what was waiting for her. She felt betrayed and lost.

She couldn’t believe that Damien had kept such a huge truth away from her. Even Morgan. Though Morgan had only discovered the true identity of Morgan recently, according to her, it still didn’t excuse the fact that she had known at least for days or months in fact and none of them had deemed it fit to tell her.

She couldn’t deny the fact that she had probably proven difficult by demanding that the tiniest of details were explained to her about what was going on. The fact th Damien had done that patiently every time she asked still did not change her disp

As she got into her car, she wondered if the goddess had chosen him to be her mate just because of the mission they had to accomplish together. That was what Damien had called it. She would be damned if she would act foolishly over a man who might just be there because of the mission bond, link, or whatever it could be called. She was going to forget him and any attraction that she might have felt for him over the past weeks. What assurance does she have that those feelings were not just part of what the goddess wanted her to feel so that their bond could be stronger for the mission? She could only think of one place at that moment that could put a balm on her raging thoughts. Isabella was glad to find the beach deserted at that time of the year. Nobody running around or chattering to distract her thoughts. She could see a figure from afar and it seemed like someone was out there just sitting sprawled in a lean-back chair with something, a hat maybe? covering their upturned face wh

The next convergence was more strained than the first. Isabella had noticed that it had nothing to do with her pretended anger at Damien or the rest of them. Asher had been able to make her see some reason later that day. At first, he was angry at her for not informing him that she was a virgin. “What difference does it make?” she had snapped at him when she had felt tempted to apologize or feel bad for what she had done. Then she had gathered the torn strap of her dress that had been ripped in his hurry to get her entirely naked. For a ridiculous moment, she felt tears come to her eyes as she stomped awkwardly away on the once romantic beach sand that now seemed annoying to her as it impeded what she would have wanted to be a graceful walk away from the bastard. She hated the squeal that came out of her mouth as she suddenly found herself off her feet and she was wrapped in a strong arm that carried her effortlessly. She wanted to stretch more into the enveloping arms and sigh as th

  • Lord of Origins   Chp 207 - Supposed To Be Dead

Isabella realised something else as well. The house had a feel to it. The feel of…“Where is everyone?”Asher shrugged “It is just you and me tonight, babe. You and me. No one else but us”Isabella had no idea why that had brought tears to her eyes and she simply pressed her lips to his before she whispered “Show me”And he had done just that. It had been a night long of unforgettable experiences. He had started by taking her to the bath where steaming water strewn with rose petals was already in the bath. They both got in and the temperature of the water did a lot to ease Isabella’s aching organ. She had been mortified when he offered to watch her down there but she had finally allowed him and it had been the most sensual and pampered feeling she had ever had with that part of her body, unless one wanted to count the earlier intrusion of course. The washing had of course led to other things and they left the bath after it had gone cold. To her frustration, he did not claim her though.

The silence that followed Asher’s outburst didn’t last long. Damien stood up and looked at them all. “Well?” Isabella asked impatiently. “He is supposed to be dead. But he is not,” Damien answered. “That makes no sense,” Isabella said slowly, even as the possibility sank in. “Oh, it makes sense when we are dealing with a wizard of the First Order whose vengeful spirit seemed to be so great that his essence could still withstand the destructive touch of that dreaded Niorco spell,” Morgan said quietly. Everyone’s attention was directed at her, though. One could hear the gravity behind her wording. Trepidation laced her tone as she continued her statement. It was almost as if she was in another world as she said, “Ulric Diablos. The greatest of the First Order wizards He is one of a kind, and he had not made much of a splash until the atrocities were committed against his own. First-order wizards are not the type to mingle with others. Their powers are said to be so great that ordin

“Only you would be,” Asher said in contempt. “I don’t have any issue with having someone at the helm,” Allan said. “He is my leader,” Michael said. “You really expect me to answer that?” Isabella asked in derision. “Will you stop wasting our time?” Morgan snapped. Liam could see that he was outnumbered. And of course, he couldn’t admit that he had only said what he said out of anger. He shrugged slowly and squared his shoulder as he said “Okay then. In as much as my people get their deserved protection, I am in. I don’t care for the fact that a crusty, old wizard who was supposed to be cooling his ass in hell choose to come to tell me when it was time for me to leave. I am in for as long as this makes sense. Any sign of harm to my people and I am out of here. I am not going o stand aside and let any of your antics take away one of mine again” he said with a meaningful glare directed at Asher. Asher ignored him as Damien said “I know that you are not all bad after all. Your people

Groans and moans richocheted off the room as the two figures on the bed got lost in each others. Their bodies slide and wrapped around the sheets sinuously as they take more and more of each other. They both came together and their bodies were still shaking with the euphoria of the incredible ride they just had. Asher wrapped the sheet around Isabella’s naked body as they snuggled together. Isabella moved closer and burrowed her head in the crook of his neck. He drew her closer and in silence, they both stared at the ceiling, where the hanging chandeliers dripping cascading lights, bathed them in its radiance. “You are troubled” Asher finally softly said as he drew her closer to him. “And you are not?” Isabella asked in the same tone. “I…” Asher decided to let go of what he had intended to say before and he gave her the truth of what he was feeling. “I know that this would be a big trouble. This could well turn bloody. If we are lucky enough, we might nip it in the bud before he w

  • Lord of Origins   Chapter 211 - The Unrest

“He told you?” Isabella’s tone made Damien look up from what he was doing in the room he had configured to be the research room. His study had been fashioned to accommodate him before but now, he had called in technicians to make modifications. There were about five systems in the partitioned cubicle that had been set against the farthest wall to the door. The room has been decorated with rollable, sturdy couches for when they might want to have a less formal chat. The meeting room is for the most serious discussions or undertakings. It gave a totally different feel from the last time that Isabella was in there. The change seemed to be the least of her concerns though as she raised her eyebrows in question when he only stared at her in confusion.“Who told me what?” Damien asked.“That bas…Asher fucking Langdon. • Lord of Origins   Chp 212 - The Seance

More appalling discoveries were made as the weeks passed. Damien, Sky, and Isabella tried to ensure that their quest would not affect the main reason why they were in California in the first place - Their education. But as time went on, they soon realised that if care was not taken, they might not be alive long enough to even have a degree.A powerful seance took place in Damien’s place when the powerful witches that Morgan had been able to get in touch with, got to California. Though they had all been working from their respective countries tirelessly to make sure that they got a firm grasp of Ulric’s essence, they all finally agreed that their powers combined together would be more beneficial in their quest of finding the wizard’s ghost. Isabella had to ask her father for the house he initially wanted to give her in California. Though it was a bit far from Damien’s place, it was the perfect space for power-wielding witches who might need their solitude to come up with whatever they

Months Later...Damien stood in the palace of Santa Eyre. He was looking down through a concealed portico at the people down in the palace waiting room. The creme de la creme of Santa Eyre was down there. All of them were waiting for him to see them on one issue or the other. It had been the routine for Damien for the past months now. There had been a lot to deal with, after their encounter with Ulric. The King's burial had been an international affair. King Saldus had been a very influential and well-beloved king. Presidents of countries, well-known CEOs all over the world, and dignitaries from different continents were in Santa Eyre, for days, to celebrate the dead king. They all believed that the king had died peacefully in his sleep. Only Damien and his inner circle knew that there was more to the king's death. There had been a dark essence to his chakras. Damien still couldn't come to terms with how much Ulric took from them. The call Allan received after the battle with Ulric,

  • Chp 226 - A Decision To Make

Total darkness filled the whole house as the power supply went off all of a sudden. The only silhouette that could be seen was the dark mass gathering again in the middle of the room. It was so massive and tall that it seemed like a giant was forming out of it. The witches rallied together and a spark of fire ignited above them to conquer the dark. Light could be seen from afar but the immediate environment of Damien’s house was as dark as the void itself. “I will purge you abominations from this earth!” came the terrifying voice of Ulric as the darkness swirled around the lights and they all went out again. One of the witches screeched, and by the time the magic light was lit again, she could be seen grabbing her throat, as blood poured out of her mouth and sunken eyes. “We need to take this motherfucker out!” Liam shouted and the rest were right with him. Damien took the lead as they charged the dark mass again. Damien released the orb and every protective substance he had in t

  • Chp 225 - Will Not Fail

Everyone in the room looked at each other as the mocking voice of the man they all knew, had heard of, and heard of resounded throughout the house. The distortion to his voice was horrid and the frightening element in it was only causing more fear in those around. Only the leaders were still stoic. The soldiers were half paralysed with fright as King Saldus went on and on to describe explicit ways that they would all be obliterated that night. Exactly at 11:58 pm, the voice stopped talking and Isabella’s phone exploded right there in the middle of the room. It was charred beyond recognition. A blast of wind rocked the shingles of the house. Suddenly, the witches all exclaimed “Stench of the underworld” A knock sounded at the door at exactly 12:00 am. They all looked at each other and beneath the bravado, was a hint of apprehension. They all knew that they might not come out of this alive. Still, the witches flung the door open by magic and someone tumbled inside. Even as everyone

  • Chp 224 - King Kovarick...Dead?

Sky did not wake up immediately. Morgan tried to wake him up but she eventually looked up at Damien and others. “I think he used up his vitality. Ulric did something else with Sky that he had never done with any other host before. He used him up. He might…he might never wake up” she said with a sigh of defeat. “No, no. that is not possible. Do something leader. You have to do something!” Michael said in desperation. Damien knew that but then he thought of the fact that Ulric might want to use Sky’s condition as a distraction for them while he strike from elsewhere. Damien was the head of the group and their link make them strong together, just as he make them vulnerable together as well. If Damien was caught in the realm while trying to heal Sky, any damage done to him at that moment will affect the whole group as well. He was sure that Ulric had a plan to do something to them while they were trying to heal Sky. Though it was difficult for him to do; he had to ask “How long can he

“You changed her?” Michael confronted Damien the moment he got back to the house. He had to teleport Laura back with him since she was still very much out of it. He had just placed her in his room, where Morgan and Isabella were keeping an eye on her when Michael confronted him just as he came out of his suite. Here we go. He thought. Anger welled in him for the reminder of his guilt. He respected Micahel for being a stickler for rules but at the moment, he did not care to be reminded that he had failed to protect his woman. He did not need the clan leader to rub more salt unto his wound. Not at all.“If you have a thing to say, just say it,” Damien said as he bypassed Michael on his way to the main floor.“If I…” Michael paused in disbelief then he lengthened his stride to meet up with that Damien. “If I have a thing to say? We never change humans. You know how precarious they could be and you went to turn one of them?”“She is one of us now,” Damien said as he turned back to face hi

Sybill Macmillan couldn’t believe what was happening! When Andrea called her to inform her, she thought that her bratty sister was just acting up. Truth be said, Andrea didn’t appear as bratty as she used to be. Sybill felt it must have to do with the fact that she didn’t have to see her daily anymore. It had all started long before Sybll left for school. Andrea had capitalised on her invitation to the palace by the king, an invitation orchestrated by that nobody. Damien. Sybill still couldn’t think of him without distaste in her mouth but she didn’t dare say any of her thoughts aloud.Who could have thought that a mere gawking, gardener? A good-for-nothing would turn out to be a prince. A referred prince for that matter that the whole of Santa Eyre and its environs had become submissive to. Sybill snorted as she remembered the rumour she had once heard that the king intended to pass the throne to Damien. Sybill doubted if the king would be so dumb to do such a thing. Why would a man

  • Chp 221 - The Awakening

Laura’s awakening was messy, to say the least. She woke up hours later feeling disoriented, groggy and out of it. It took her a while to recognise Damien. Then she blurted out “I love you” thoughtlessly. In the next moment, she was shouting bout feeling so thirsty, then she started pulling at her hair and agitating about hating her skin. Her clothes felt too tight. Her head hurt and she felt like she would die if she did not eat something.Damien knew what was happening. Despite how much he wanted to ignore it, the inevitable couldn’t be denied. Laura had become a vampire and if he did not do something about it, she would die within the first hour of her awakening. He tried to talk to her during that moment to see if she would rather choose to die than become a fully-formed vampire, yet it was like singing a lullaby to a deaf kid. She could hear him. She seemed to have some iota of consciousness but she was not comprehending what he was saying.“Okay, okay. Can I eat now?” was the ans

  • Chp 220 - Laura's Death

It finally dawned on Damien why Sky/Ulric wanted him to see him draining the life out of Laura. It was just so he could make a difficult decision or live eternally with the guilt of causing the death of the girl that he only belatedly realized he loved. Tears trailed down Morgan’s face as she stood up. “It is no use. I…I can’t do it. There is nothing to draw from. I can’t heal her.” She spread her bloodied hands to the sides as anguish soaked her voice. “My hands are filled with her blood, and I can’t bring her back. I was supposed to be better than this”“Now, now. You shouldn’t beat yourself up, A Ghra. This is not your fault” he looked straight at Damien over Morgan’s head “This mess was not for you to sort”“What the hell did you just call me? How can you be so cold and glib right now?” Morgan lashed out at him. “An innocent girl is dying for God’s sake. She did nothing wrong! She is dying and there is nothing I can do. Laura called him in the wee hours of the following morning. He almost couldn’t believe his eyes as the true caller on his phone identified the number. Fuck it! He yelled in his mind, knowing immediately that damage had been done. If not, why would…Laura!“What have you done to her, Ulric?” Damien asked instantly.“Ulric? Who is that? There is only your buddy, Sky, here.
