Damien wondered what happened to the girl called Mary…Morgan or who knows how many names she had. Why did she leave? He wondered if it had anything to do with what happened when the mind linking occurred but he had no answers to his question.“Where could she be?” he thought for the umpteenth time in exasperation. He knew that she was not an ordinary girl if she could see his ring and he was sure that she felt his moon-absorbing process even before she came over to the outhouse. There was no reason why she would have thought that someone would be there otherwise. Why did she have so much guilt in her even though she was the one wronged? Why did she run now? These questions tumbled about in Damien’s mind as he waited for Butler Shawn. The man initially told Damien to wait for him some distance away from the main house and Damien had been anxious about the fact that anybody from the house might see him. By anybody, he had Sybil in mind because he was just that she wouldn’t hesitate to c
Main Square is the central commercial hub of Santa Eyre and Macmillan’s business took up the central part of the Main Square. The Macmillan’s business centre was a wraparound towering building that took up more than six acres in Main Square. They own about 80 huge, luxurious shops that deal mainly with women, men and kids' fashion. The Macmillans were originally known as cotton farmers before they went into textile production so their fashion shops are the most luxurious and expanse of all the shops. They only just recently added home appliances, food, technology, beauty and other things to their repertoire.Damien’s eyes widened as butler Shawn pulled up in front of the main entrance and the guards greeted him respectfully like they knew how much power he wielded.Even as he wondered what exactly they were doing there, Damien still couldn’t help but be awed by the magnificence of the place and he wondered what it might be like to be behind one of those floor-to-ceiling glass shingle
“Young master” Damien heard Butler Shawn’s resigned tone even before he turned to him. Even as he hoped that he was wrong, he knew that he had only heard the Butler sound like that only once before and that was when he was speaking with….“Awww. don’t sound as if you have been dying to see me. You know I miss you too” Smith Macmillan’s mocking tone ranged clear and true in the entryway of the centre and Damien knew that there was no escaping it this time. Not when he was standing so close to the butler with nothing else to divert the attention of the young man in front of him looking at Butler Shawn with a faint sneer on his face as….Damien’s eyes bulged when he realised that the person hanging on to the young master’s arm was the girl from earlier! The one who had insulted him when he was waiting for Butler Shawn!Damien frowned to himself when he saw the way the girl was standing so close to Smith, her arm was tightly hooked through his, her breast rubbing against his arm and even
“Damien, what are you doing? Let go of her hand!” Butler Shawn said in a shocked whisper as he smacked Damien’s hand when the latter did not let go of the girl’s hand fast enough for him.The impact of that smack had the girl yelling out again and Damien quickly let go of her hand as he stepped back in contrition, already blaming himself for acting so rashly. “I am sorry,” he said as he looked at Butler Shawn’s face as the girl rubbed at her hand “She wanted to…”Butler Shawn gave him an imperceptible nod as if he understood why he did it but he shouted at him “How dare you lay your hands on Miss Sonia? Do you want to die?” he turned towards the lady.“I am sorry, miss. I promise something like this will never happen again” Butler Shawn said anxiously.“Who the hell do you think you are to promise me anything? You are nothing but a glorified, old ass worker yourself and you think you can promise me anything?” she yelled as she held the hand that Damien jerked back with the other “The
“What are you grinning at?” Damien snapped out of his admiration haze when the girl snapped at him and he quickly looked aside. He nodded apologetically at her before looking forward when she glared at him.“Does this look like a vacation to you? You think a nobody like you would even have a chance to be in a car like this if not that I needed you to help me when my arm tires out?” she turned to him abruptly after trying to fix her car key into the ignition with her left hand all to no avail “Which I wouldn’t have needed if you did not twist my hand, you wretched bastard!”“I am sorry,” Damien said. He was having no idea of what else he was supposed to say in the face of such hostility.“Sorry!” she scoffed “Who cares about your fucking sorry? You think you are just here for a free ride? Can’t you see that I can’t fix the car key in?” she snapped as she threw the key smack on Damien’s face and he quickly bent down to pick it from the console where it fell to.Damien wanted to ask her
The girl did not reply to him as the hospital they were going to come up and she had to swerve towards the car parking lot.Damien felt that she had enough time to reply to him if she wanted to though but he kept his mouth as he thought that, if she was laughing then she would probably not have him punished for what he had done. One other thing he realised was that she did not even need his help on the way. He had no idea that he was looking forward to driving the car, not until she turned towards the hospital parking lot and he realised that his chance to “drive” never came. She hissed in pain as she used her injured hand to turn off the ignition and glared at him when he told her “sorry”. The girl who had laughed in such a carefree manner was nowhere to be found as she descended.“Are you okay, miss?” Butler Shawn said as h came up to meet them and she glared at him.“Does this look okay to you?” she shouted at the man as she gestured at her right hand.“I am…”“I don’t want to hear
Just like a bystander with no power to stop what he behold; Damien watched them. There were twelve of them.Twelve wizards of the First Order stood in the in-between, where no mortal would dare venture and even the most powerful of the supernatural beings would think twice before embarking on.Their cloaks bellowing, their chants rising as the minutes passed, they invoke the powers that be. That which nobody had ever attempted. The moon wept and the sky shed bloody tears but nothing deterred them from their mission. The storm grew around them as their chants rose. One by one they dropped, giving their life essence in the ritual they had set out for. Turning around the currents of the element was not without its consequences after all. One which they were willing to accept before setting out.One by one they dropped and the moon turned bloodier. On earth and in the realm of the spirits it was felt and the discerning powers scurried to safety for they knew that something huge was going
Damien stood at the window for a long time as torrents of thoughts came to his mind and he allowed them all. Snippets of memories from his days in the World of Origins filled his mind and he tried to remember his days before he was awakened but he couldn’t. Bitterness filled his heart when he thought back to the time that his kind was facing persecution from humans and more loathing filled his heart as he realised that it was the period before his Awakening. “So, while I was asleep behind the veil, those I was supposed to protect and lead were suffering that much,” he thought in anger as he slammed his fist against the wall of the room where the window rattled. “Well, I would say that you should not beat yourself up over what you can’t change now but since you will go ahead and do so anyway, why should I bother?” Helios spoke up in the otherwise quiet room as the sounds of the household activities as they started the day penetrated the room. “I swear f you give me any crap right now
