Chapter 2- New life

Was the last word she heard before she woke up again and this time she arrived in a

modern world.

The world was not too futuristic but not also average.

She woke up this time in the body of a business woman.

Gasp!!!

"Shit, I could never get used to this pain"

As you know, what followed next was assimilation of memories.

According to the memories she just gained, this lady could be said to be an orphan.

Not an orphan in the sense of losing her parents or stuff like that.

Her family is quite complicated and at the same time simple.

Her mother and father did not love each other and married each other and this marriage

was on the condition they provide one child from their union be it a girl or a boy.

Her parents had agreed and they gave birth to her.

She became a child born out of agreement instead of love.

Her parents went their separate ways after they had given birth to her and she was

trained by both grandparents.

Her training was as rigorous as that of an heir.

Her parents only gave her money and never cared about her well-being.

Sometimes, she may come back home and see her parents frolicking with either their

mistress or boy toy.

She was practically invisible in front of her parents.

They treated her as one who didn't exist.

Her parents finally divorced after her mother found who she loved and her dad too also

found who he loved.

They each got married to their respective partners and gave birth to their children.

Her grandparents, who even though they did not care still took care of her, abandoned her.

Each family wanted their own heir to be born out of the one they gave birth to out of love.

One day while watching a movie she had felt that maybe she wasn't her parents child just

as what had happened in the movie so she ran away, hoping to meet her birth parents .

Unfortunately, reality is bitter. At the age of 10 after running away from home, she had thought they would at least look for her but to them — she did not even exist.

She became depressed. Being away from home for a week she was finally able to find her way home but it would have been better if she did not.

The whole family were gathered and were discussing removing her from the genealogy.

According to them, she was a stain. The result of the discussion was the agreement of removing her.

"Why?"

The little girl who had stumbled on the scene could not help but ask.

She had been smarter than her peers plus the training her grandparents had given her

before they abandoned her.

"Hehe" Everyone looked at her in disdain. Her parents even looked at her in disgust .

"What was the first thing I taught you? This world is unfair so make do with what it gives

you" her maternal grandmother spoke.

" I understand " that was Zephyra's reply and also a reply to herself.

The innocent Zephyra died that day.

"Thank God you're here. At least it saves us the effort of looking for you.

Take this card which is the only thing we can give you. Some of the clothes you have been

allowed to take have already been packed in this bag along with some necessities. Don't

say we weren't kind to you.

As for the matter of dissolution of family ties. Your paternal grandmother had decided to

give you a house in Jing'an district."

Zephyra looked at her paternal grandmother who only gave her a look of pity.

She understood, it was not given to her out of love but of pity. It's like giving it to a beggar.

She nodded her head at them, tucked in the house deed and key into the bag before

looking at them.

She first faced her grandparents. "Thanks for your training."

Turning to her parents with their family. " Thanks for giving birth to me"

"Now we have gone our separate ways. I hope I never come to beg you."

Her father who hadn't spoken since looked at her and spoke. "Since you worded your

words right. The driver will send you to the house. Now you can go."

"Thank you for your hospitality." She nodded at him and stepped out of the house.

Her heart was already dead and she learnt never to beg or ask for something.

Zephyra was grateful for the training she was given and was able to survive.

With the money they had given her, she used the account to do a lot of things and was able to train herself all through school till she graduated with a pH.D.

She never forgot to train herself physically.

She also made sure she has more skills, to be able to survive anywhere.

She went as far as learning how to farm, fish etc as therapy.

She could never forget what her family had done to the extent it turned to her nightmare and she started having insomnia.

She usually used drugs to sleep but it also caused her death.

After building her business to where it was today, her body couldn't take it and died due to the pressure, stress and all that has accumulated over time.

Zephyra felt it was fate. They both have the same name and surname.

Zephyra used another surname after she left the family.

The family had not bothered with her and so had she.

She even left the country the moment she had the chance and had never returned since then.

Before Zeyphar could marvel at the fact that she was now alive and not going to die again, a black whirlpool appeared behind her and her eyes darkened.

At this point a white light appeared taking with it some of its inhabitants and fused with the black whirlpool and was taken along with the white light.
