Chapter 2: Making Friends

In the deep darkness, Jill sat by the bed watching Zoe sleeping soundly, he didn't know why he followed this boy here, but he had a feeling this person saw him. It had never felt so special before, when he passed by it, suddenly it felt like hot breath and the blood in his body was circulating, his heart pounding furiously, the chest cavity. This was something that had never happened to a ghost before, it had never felt life pass through it.

Therefore, when it senses the elements of life, it has a different kind of craving from deep within its heart that has long rested in its bosom, a thirst for life that has arisen in it. So he decided to follow this child to his room, he had to find out why he had that feeling, maybe this child could help him get revenge, and help him, does it come back to life? Although it was just a fantasy that suddenly popped up in Jill's head, she still hoped but could hear the baby's breath, the life in the beating heart, the hot blood flowing in her body, to feel it. I feel like I'm living, that's also very good.

Time passed, and for several months Jill was no longer in the bathroom but stayed in Zoe's room. Zoe also ignored it and didn't care, just carrying on as usual. Zoe had PE class today, but he forgot to bring his uniform, so during lunch break he rushed back to his room. As soon as he opened the door, he found Jill sitting on the bed, but Zoe didn't mind trying to find every nook and cranny to find her gym uniform. But still can't find it, Zoe angrily kicks the foot of the bed, if he doesn't have a uniform, he can't go to class, and teacher Neala will clean the toilet. At that time, Olwen and the others will laugh their heads off, and deliberately drag all the kids to the bathroom to mess around for him to clean up, and die.

Zoe ruffled her hair and crawled under the bed again to look.

“…Where is it… It's crazy.”

"Seriously, I don't remember where I put it."

A laughing voice rang in his ears, and deliberately laughed mockingly, "Shut up."

Zoe shouted angrily. Jill was startled by this shout, then his whole soul was shaken, he happily flew around Zoe because he knew for sure he heard the voice. If so, he probably saw it too. Zoe, after regaining his composure, closed her eyes and sighed. Dead, you can lose your temper like that, the ghost knows. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes, acting as if nothing had happened, and continued searching for his uniform. But Jill does not give up easily, he smiles and makes goosebumps.

It hovered beside Zoe, blowing cold air into his ear and whispering.

"What are you looking for, tell me, I'll find it for you."

Zoe neither answered nor looked at him, continuing to search.

"Come on, I know you can see me and hear me." Jill said softly, "I know where your stuff is, talk to me, I'll show it to you."

Zoe turned around and didn't notice, hurried to open the door, and ran out of the room, being stalked by a ghost is scarier than having to clean the toilet for a week, you know? Jill watched him, his smile fading, knowing Zoe didn't like him because he was a ghost. Jill hovered sullenly over the top of the closet to see Zoe's tracksuit lying still on it. It doesn't know what to do, because it's just a ghost that can't touch anything and can't get it. Jill sadly went to look for Zoe, she saw him sitting alone by the lake in the swimming room, Jill happily flew over. It circled in front of Zoe but Zoe remained still.

A moment later Jill sat down beside him, the sad ghost's voice as light as the wind.

“I saw your gym clothes on top of the wardrobe in the bedroom.”

Zoe immediately stood up without looking at Jill but ran as fast as he could to her room, Jill followed with a smile and then scurried off towards the bathroom. Zoe found the uniform so he was not punished, he was relieved, but remembered to draw a sad face of the ghost he ignored. He felt a little guilty, maybe the ghost just wanted to be friends with him and had no other intentions? Yes, being a ghost is lonely.

This thought made Zoe involuntarily go to the bathroom to find Jill. He opened the door to enter, but no one was inside.

Zoe opened her mouth to call. "Hi."

Everything was silent, only the ticking of a leaky faucet spouting water onto the tiled floor.

Zoe said to herself again, her voice a little louder than before, "Hello, are you here?... I… I'm sorry I ignored you."

There was no answer, Zoe was a little disappointed and was about to turn her back when a voice behind him said, "Aren't you afraid of me?"

As soon as Zoe turned her head, Jill's face was right next to his, cold air emanating from the ghost as if it wanted to wrap around Zoe's body and freeze him. Zoe took a few steps back.

"Not too scared."

When Jill heard that she smiled and moved closer as if to touch Zoe's face, "Aren't you afraid?"

"YES."

Zoe nodded and continued walking backward.

“So can I be friends with you?” Zoe hesitated a bit, with a ghost as a friend is good, at least he won't cause any trouble, and no one will see him, except will be bothered with the ear. But having someone babble in the ear is also fun.

Zoe looked at Jill's clear eyes, waiting for an answer, and nodded, "Okay." Jill suddenly transformed herself into a beam of transparent fireworks that splashed in front of Zoe showing its joy.

Zoe laughed, "Okay, I have to go to school."

Jill paused to show the figure in front of Zoe, "You're doing gymnastics today, sorry about Master Neala, the bald guy is not only ugly but also mean, you have to be careful."

Zoe smiled at Jill and then opened the door and walked out, then opened the door and poked her head in again.

“You… You can come into my bedroom.”

Anyway, the toilet is not very good, very unhygienic but also very smelly. With that, Zoe closed the door and ran to gym class. Jill started to laugh, and he laughed happily like never before until her laughter made the students studying nearby turn to look at the toilet with shivers all over his body.
