Pedro looked like he had seen a ghost, but it wasn’t long before he managed to get a hold of himself.

“How are you cured, Daisy?! You are meant to be in a wheelchair!” Pedro was still stunned, he looked at Daisy’s healed body, there was no scar to indicate that she had a terrible fire accident.

“I am here to reclaim my company, Pedro. I need you to step aside.” Daisy was direct with her demand. She didn’t have time to exchange words with Pedro who was part of her family’s negligence.

“What?! No way!” Pedro refused at once, he was enjoying so much power and wealth as the CEO of the company, and he wasn’t ready to let go.

“Father asked me to take over when you got yourself burned in that fire. There is no way I am disobeying his instruction.”

“This company belongs to me, Pedro! It’s either you leave or I will be forced to throw you out!” Daisy was gradually losing her patience, but Pedro was too blind to see it.

“You have lost this company, Daisy! Did you ever think of how it has been doing ever since you were wallowing in that wheelchair? I have been the one taking care of it!”

Pedro knew that all he cared about was the money that the company made, but he was too ashamed to admit it.

“Who the hell is this fellow you came with? Is he your new bodyguard?” Pedro looked at Lucas with so much disdain, but his utterance had made Daisy very angry.

“You just made a very terrible mistake by insulting this man, Pedro. I am sure you didn’t wonder to know why your men are on the floor.” Daisy pointed at the men who were still on the floor, but Pedro was still unmoved.

“He made a terrible mistake laying his filthy hands on my security men! Wait until I get more men to throw him out!” Pedro was livid, his eyes glared at Lucas who remained calm with a smirk on his face.

“I am so sorry about this, Sir.” Daisy apologized to Lucas at once, but Pedro scoffed at him.

“I see that you are apologizing to him. You should have kept that for when more men come to throw the both of you out of this premises.” Pedro took out his phone and started to dial a number.

Just when he placed the phone on his right ear, another man in a black suit hastened toward him with a frown on his face.

“Mr. Buffet? I have been waiting for you inside the building! We need to finalize this deal, remember that I told you that you have no time to make a choice.” The man said impatiently, focusing on Pedro who grunted instantly.

“I am so sorry for keeping you waiting, Mr. Anderson! I just need to take care of these intruders!” Pedro retorted at once, waiting for someone to answer his call.

“It was you!” Daisy shouted as soon as she recognized the man who walked out of the building.

He was Gerald Anderson, the CEO of Skyline Groups; a rival company to Apex Ventures.

“You were the one who set the fire that burned me! I remember!” Daisy pointed accusing fingers at Gerald.

There was no way she could forget his long curly hair and the evil smile on his face two years earlier when he set her house ablaze.

“I don’t know what you are talking about! I have not even met you in my life!” Gerald tried to deny everything Daisy said, but he couldn’t stop her from speaking out.

“You got angry because I refused your marriage proposal. You threatened to take away my beauty from me just because I didn’t want to partner with you!” Daisy was getting very emotional at that moment, but she still stood her ground.

Pedro suddenly got interested in what his sister was saying. He forgot that he was trying to call more security men and focused on what was going on at that moment.

“Is what my sister saying the truth, Mr. Anderson? Did you set her house ablaze two years ago?”

“How dare you ask me that, Pedro?! That’s an insult and I refuse to accept it!” Gerald fired instantly.

He looked around him and realized that the truth was already out. Daisy recognized him even after two years, and he had made a terrible mistake by not looking before he walked out of the building.

Gerald pulled out a gun from his pants and grabbed Daisy at once.

“If anyone moves, I will shoot!” He pointed the gun at Daisy’s head, causing her to wince.

Her breath quaked, and the only thing she could do was look at Lucas for help while she lifted her hands in full surrender.

“You are making a very terrible mistake, Mister. Let the lady go.” Lucas said calmly, but Gerald pointed his gun at him while he was still grabbing onto Daisy’s neck.

“Don’t try to play hero! I will shoot you and shoot her as well!” He threatened, making sure that he moved Daisy further away from Lucas.

“Don’t worry, Daisy. You will be fine.” Lucas assured, causing Gerald to snigger at him.

“Who the hell is this fool?! You think you stand a chance against me?”

“You will be surprised. I gave you a chance but you refused to take it.” Lucas had grown tired of hoping that Gerald was going to come to his right senses and let Daisy go, but he refused to listen.

Meanwhile, Pedro was so afraid that he had to move to a corner where he stood and watched nervously.

“I asked you to collaborate with me, but you refused to listen! Just when I was on the verge of finally laying my hands on your company after two years, you decided to show up and ruin everything!” Gerald tightened his grip on Daisy’s neck.

She grunted and tried to free herself but he was stronger.

“I am taking you with me, Daisy! Come on!” Gerald dragged Daisy away at once through the back, but Lucas wasn’t going to allow that.

He had given Gerald the chance to do the needful but he let his arrogance becloud his sense of reasoning.

“Stay where you are! I am warning you!” Gerald fired as soon as he saw that Lucas was moving after him but that didn’t deter him.

Lucas quickened his steps, and when Gerald saw that he wasn’t ready to stop he fired two bullets almost at the same time.

Boom!

Boom!

The gunshot echoed and Daisy fell to the ground.
