The Elders Of Menali

Third person's Pov

       It was dim as if it would be night time soon, the elders of Menali sat around their round meeting table and looked serious as if they were about to plan for a war.

 

       "He calls himself the king, shouldn't he be here by now? We elders are taking it too easy on him, he doesn't even deserve to be on that seat, because his father was a great king does not mean he'll be one " elder Dolores said while tapping his fingers on the table repeatedly.

 

         " Know what you talk about Dolores, keep going on about who should be king or not ,and you're going to bring abomination upon us!" Elder Lois said while flaring up. 

She doesn't like anything elder Dolores does and even the elder himself .

 

     " We are the top elders of Menali, you people should know better than to start bickering every time there is a meeting!!We are here to talk about the safety of this town !King Alverez should be here ! But he never came to any of our meetings and he calls himself a king?!I agree with Dolores on this one." Elder Edna said .

 

      " Of Course, why wouldn't you agree with whatever Dolores said, he has planted his evil seed in you also hasn't he??" Elder Lois said while glaring at both of them .

 

      " Don't talk about me like that Lois, you’re nothing, you’re not even a full blooded vampire, you’re just a lowlife witch who got a free pass from the former king! You don't even belong here!!".elder Dolores said while standing up at elder Lois.

 

        "How dare you?!!!" Lois said as she flared up instantly ! 

 

" If the king was here all this wouldn't have happened! But no, you keep on getting at each other ! We are not here to joke! This is a serious issue, the full blood moon is coming faster than we expected!!" Elder flux said when he had gotten enough of their playdate, They have been getting it on and on and he kept quiet just watching them do whatever they want.

      "I'm leaving, you can call me when you have better things to say, and I pray you never do,'' Elder Flux added again while standing from his seat.

 

          " If only you listen to me!, but you won't, but I'll not keep repeating myself "! Dolores said after a quiet while and Lois gave him a death glare.

 

   " You can't even say that to his face, can you?" Elder Lois stands and starts walking towards elder Dolores." You know he will rip your head off your neck in a second, don't you??" She added mockingly.

 

        Elder Dolores stepped back from her as fear flashed all through his eyes, making it obvious he was scared by the threat elder Lois laid down.

 

        " You will pay for this Lois, just wait and see" Dolores said and went for the door, while Elder Edna followed, then Elder flux Shortly after. 

 

Elder Lois ,sat back at her chair and bowed her head to think, she was tired of everything happening in the kingdom.

 

           The Elders of Menali were never on the same page, some elders were there because of the fame and money and respect, those types of people cared less about the town and the people in it. 

 

          Deshan being a sudden king disrupted the town in a lot of ways, people go on about rumors, and rumors, and lots of rumors, they are never ending.

 

  Some say, Deshan was not the son of the former king, and he is just a clone built for the throne.

 

While some says; he is human pretending to be a vampire because no one has ever seen him take human blood..

 

And some say; he was planted on the throne by the evil king orthodox.

 

 They went on and on, rumors never ending about him ... meanwhile little did they know, Deshan himself loathed being a king he does not want to be.

 

            The Elders always comes for meetings just once a month, but it was always fruitless, all they do is bicker and fight ,and with that being said, elder Dolores was known for his evil ways all around the town,he is know for criminal activities and sleep with whores and girls old enough to be his granddaughter around the town. 

 

The town was a mess.

 

The humans in this town know little about it .Ever since Deshan became king, he had stated that even though the City was breeded with Vampire, the humans must never know, and that they must live with them in peace and harmony, ever since the day Deshan became king and stated this rule, the Rate of people dying decreased.

 

He made sure, this town is a human safety zone, he does not want them to sleep with one eye open, and he does not want them to sleep with frightened and heavy hearts like he did when he was a kid. He does not want their families to be brutally killed like they did to him .

 

He made sure the humans know nothing and live with them like they were human also.

 

* The Lighthouse* 

  Deshan waited anxiously while waiting for Ava's call. He has been anxious and has been on his toes all day.

 Brandon entered with a serious look on his face which indicates the conversation he wanted to have was a serious one, but Deshan wasn't even a bit concerned .

 

       " Your majesty" he said and bowed down a little, while Deshan stayed like he was, he acted like no one was there in the room with him.

 

      " Your majesty," Brandon said again, getting impatient with him.

 

" Your ma......" Brandon could not complete his sentence when he met Dehsn red eyes, he knew those eyes well enough, he knew that face Well enough to take several steps back from him. That was not Deshan, it was the beast inside of him. 

 

         Deshan looked at Brandon with his eyes fixed on him like he was his next prey,but he knew what he was doing,he wanted to scare Brandon a little for disobeying him. Brandon knew he could call him anything else other than that title. 

 

     " D..Deshan..?" Brandon called his name out but he didn't answer. He took all the courage in his mind, body and soul to get closer to him. For one reason he knew Deshan wouldn't hurt him.

 

      " Do you want to die or do you feel like dying?" Deshan finally said  and twisted his head sideways as if he wanted to get a better view of Brandon.

 

    " I.. I just have important and official information for you" Brandon answered while stuttering.

 

  " You've not answered my question brad" he said again coldly this time around.

 

 " I, I’m sorry, it won't happen again, '' Brad said while swallowing his spit.

 

   Deshan chuckled and closed his eyes and opened them again, but now it was back to his normal eye color. 

Which gave Brandon the idea that he was probably not mad any more.

 

      " You looked like you were going to kill me," he said while looking at him softly.

 

           " And you seem easy to be scared," Deshan replied looking amused.

 

  " I am not easy to be scared  , everyone is scared of you,in case you don't know that". Brandon said and took his seat towards him.

 

       " The Elders came to the castle, and things got ugly today " Brandon added .

 

    " Isn't that what has been happening all these years?" Deshan replied unbothered.

 

       " If you were there as the king of this kingdom, things won't be like that" he answered.

 

     " Don't annoy me Brad, I'm not in a really good mood," Deshan stated .

 

   " Another meeting has been fixed  again .it take place on the next full moon" .

 

         "  You fixed a meeting with the elders?!, On a full moon night?" .

 

     " Uhh...yeah? I know how bad your temper is on a normal day and I know how worse it is in a full moon day, I don't want them to think you're some cheap skunk because you don't drink human blood anymore" 

 

     " Oh?! ,And will you take the responsibility if I ended up killing one of them?" Deshan asked, looking bewildered trying to know what Brandon was up to.

 

  " You won't kill them," Brandon replied proudly.

 

  " And how the hell are you so sure of that?" Deshan asked him again.

 

       Brandon went silent before he could answer, he was thinking if what he was about to say will be the end of him or not, he knew that was the last thing he should do .but he had to do it because he does not want Deshan to hurt any of them on the next meeting so he blurted out whatever was in his mind.

 

        " Because AVA will be there, so you have to tell her you're a vampire as soon as possible, she looked like she was the only one who could tame you" he spoke out.

 

  

 " Do you want to die??" Huh?" That was your plan?! " She has not even accepted me, do you think she would when she finds out I am a monster, who could kill her in the middle of the night?! Huh! Answer me!" Deshan yelled while he got up from his seat and was pining Brandon by the neck within seconds. He was faster than any of them .

 

     Brandon choked in his arms but didn't fight back. Deshan watched him angrily and released him before his breathing ceased.

 

       " I thought you had a better plan brad, but you've fucked up, I will never let those things who called themselves elders set their pitiful eyes on my woman!, they can all fuck off for all I care because  I am not attending the next meeting" Deshan stated coldly before walking past brad, where he was gathering his breath .

 

      " I know what you're afraid of" brad said while getting up

 

 " What the fuck are you talking about"

 

" You're afraid you won't be able to protect her right?"

 

" You don't know anything"

 

" But I know she is a sweet blood Deshan" Brandon said and Deshan's eyes widening like a little kid who was caught stealing.

 

   "If you know she is a sweet blood then you must know why the evil of the kingdom must not set eyes on her right"? Deshan asked calmly.

 

  " If you really want to protect her, you should tell her what you are, and take her to elder Lois so she could hide the scent from her and take her to the next elder meeting." Brandon said and moved closer to Deshan.

 

 " I know you don't trust anyone, but you should at least trust me, I am the only one that knows in the whole kingdom about it ,and if you want to keep it a secret I am willing to do that till I die " Brandon added.

 

   " Are you hurt?," Deshan asked him, he never knew how to apologize.

 

     " I'm sorry for almost killing you would have been better than that, you know," Brandon said and laughed.

 

   " I guess you're okay then “Deshan answered and smiled.

 

      Brandon wanted to say something when he was cut off when a call came on Deshan's phone.

 

Deshan picked up the phone and saw the true caller read AVA GRAY, he smiled wholeheartedly which made Brandon question if he was the same man from a few seconds ago.

 

    Ava;  hey, hi

  Deshan 📞; Hey beautiful, been expecting your call all-day long

  Ava; ; uhm, I just settled things with Noah and Elena, turns out the psycho hitted her with the flower vase when he found out that she has called the police, that was what got her to the hospital.

Deshan ; oh, okay, I guess she is okay now.

  Ava;; yeah she is ..uhm so I called to ask if you'd like to have dinner with me on Saturday night it's weekdays now so I'll be alot busy so....

Deshan ; of course cupcake, anything for you.

Ava; Right, bye.

 

      Deshan got off the phone with Ava with a disturbance look on his face.

 

"Brad, can you please find that man, the stalker that got   issues with Ava's Bestfriend,if he is at the jail, look for means to get him out, I'd like to deal with him myself" Deshan said with an evil smirk plastered all over his face .

 

   Brandon smiled at him and got up immediately, he was going to enjoy hunting down the stalker .
