He couldn't believe the sight. Natalia lay naked on the floor with her eyes closed and another figure slamming into her from behind. Mason's heart skipped a thousand beats at the moan that escaped her parted lips. He felt his lungs cut short of air and his jelly.

Jacob was the first to notice his presence. "M…Mason!" Jacob stammered, jumping up from Natalia, clamping both hands to cover his manhood, then briskly picked up his clothes from the wooden floor.

"M…Mason!" Natalia's voice followed, and her hand quickly dragged the duvet to cover herself. Her face turned pale at the sight of her boyfriend. "Y… You're home!" She stammered, staring from her boyfriend to Jacob, who she was cheating with, and guilt spread across her features.

In that instance, Mason's world was crumbling in the blink of an eye. "This can't be happening!" Mason muttered to himself. His heart ached like a shattered glass pounded by a heavy metal.

Mason would never believe anyone if he was told his beloved girlfriend would cheat on him, and it felt like his heart would tear out of his chest as the reality slapped him on his face.

"I…I can explain," Natalia said with cloudy eyes, Interrupting the thought that ran through Mason's mind.

'You can Explain!' he screamed in his head, overcoming his shock and anger and pain rushing his gains.

"How could you, Natalia!" Mason screamed, finally finding his voice. Tears pricked the corner of his eyes. Even when Mason had faced countless hardships that were capable of breaking a man, he had never once shown any form of weakness to the world by tearing up, but he lost all that as he stared at the woman he loved so much naked with another man.

Mason eyes danger at the man who had scrambled to the far end of the room, with Mason blocking the exit.

"Hey, look at me, Mason," Natalia's voice dragged his gaze from Jacob. "Let's talk this through, Mason. I'm sorry," Natalie said, slowly moving towards Mason, and with one glare from him, her leg stayed rooted.

'Sorry! You're sorry,' those words ring loudly inside his head.

"Are you sorry, or are you sorry you got caught!" His voice shook with rage. "I gave you everything, Natalia, everything. How could you do this to me!" Mason's left hand ran through his hair, and his right clenched into a fist, struggling between his breath.

"Everything you say," Natalia scoffed, wiping her tears. The remorse across her face disappeared. "I tried my best, but I can't stay like this!" Her voice echoed. "Have you seen girls my age, Mason? Have you seen the kind of lifestyle they live? Do you know the kind of expensive dress they wear and the places they visit? You can't give me that."

Mason's eyes widened, taken aback by his girlfriend's statement. Her words diced into his heart. He knew he wasn't rich like Jacob or the other silver spoon students on campus who show off their parent's wealth, but as for Mason Williams, he did his best to provide everything Natalia asked. He even worked extra shifts to pay for her tuition fee since he didn't just consider her as his girlfriend but wished to build his life with her.

Mason could not contain the pain of betrayal as everything was repellent to him. "You said you loved me, Natalie, or was that a lie?" Mason's rage, different emotions running through his veins.

Natalia rolled her eyes with a sigh, tired of any explanation she would ever give him. At this moment, she had already wore her clothes. "I thought we had a chance when you won the one million dollar lottery, but that is down the drain since you used the money for your sister's heart transplant," she replied. "I appreciate everything you have done for me, but a woman like me deserves more than this."

Natalia's words harshly stabbed at Mason. He couldn't believe these were the words of his beloved Natalia.

Jacob, who had been silent, suddenly cleared his throat, drawing Mason's attention. He wore a smirk and stared from Mason to Natalia's ass; he grabbed at it, ignoring Mason's presence and admiring Natalia's curve. Natalia smiled, swatting at Jacob's hands, who was enjoying the scene before him.

"Hey buddy," Jacob turned to Mason. "You have to calm-"

"You bastard!" Mason's hard fist landed on Jacob's face, silencing the rest of his words. Jacob staggered back, crashing into the wall, drawing blood from both his mouth and his nose.

"H…How dare you lay your stinking hands on me!" Jacob screamed in agony. "Do you know who I am!" his eyes widened in disable and anger.

Of course, Mason knows who Jacob Higs was. He was one of the richest second-year students on campus and in Mason's department. His family was one of the University's influential supporters. Still, Mason didn't care who he was or what kind of trouble he would enter for hitting one of the University's prestigious students.

"I will make you-"

Another blow landed in his mouth, collapsing the words of Jacob.

"Mason, stop!" Natalia snapped in horror, jumping in front of Mason, who held his fist mid as his girlfriend was protecting Jacob, his fist washed with blood.

Mason moved back, shaking his head.

"Are you alright?" Natalia asked, and Jacob frowned, holding his face.

"What do you think? He broke my fucking nose!"

Natalia stood to her feet. "Don't you get it, Mason! It is over between us!"

Mason, who couldn't believe the words exiting his girlfriend's mouth, glanced between the two. "So you are leaving for him because he is richer!" Mason's voice cracked. "You're throwing everything we have down the drain for money!"

"Like I said, I am thankful for everything you have done for me."

Her words only made his blood boil, and Mason, who planned to do more than a broken nose, rushed towards Jacob.

"M…Mason!"

A familiar voice screamed, making his leg root to the floor as he realized who it was. Mason turned towards Helen, tears running down her cheek. Mason couldn't tell how long she had been there, or she must have seen.

"I…I can't breathe," Helen said almost in a whisper as she struggled, holding her chest. She staggered forward, reaching for Mason, but collapsed to the ground with a loud thud.

"Helen!" Mason's heart dropped at the sight of his sister collapsing. He rushed toward her, dropping to his knees, but Helen's eyes were closed with faint breath. "What's wrong, princess? Talk to me," Mason's voice cracked as he carried Helen. She wasn't moving, and her unconscious body lay on his hand; this alone sent dark shivers down Mason's spine.

'Stay with me, princess, don't leave me,' Mason cried in his head, grabbing his cell phone and dashing out of the room, leaving the two figures behind him.
