They all arrived at the HOD office after the PIP gang was handed to the police. Mason sat across the duo, who stared at him with irritation as they waited for the decision of the police, who were discussing with Mr.Osawe outside the office.

Jacobs secretly curses Mason for ruining his plans. At the same time, Lola scrolls through the school platform, which does not broadcast the incident since Mason had secretly instructed Mr Osawe to supervise the arrest and avoid leaking the news or the media getting involved so as not to disrupt the school activities or drawing attention. Mr.Osawe was among the few people aware that the new owner was delighted and did as he was told.

After a while, Mr. Osawe walks into his office with an expression that tells Mason the criminal didn't snitch on who hired them, and since the officer didn't have enough evidence to link Jacobs to the gang, they have to let him go. The camera and the interviewer faded out of sight as Mason drove away from the premises. It was his first time grabbing the media's attention, but it felt familiar because all they did was intrude and pry into someone's life just to have something that would boost their fame and destroy the lives of those they pry upon. It was a feeling Mason had gone through county time on campus."What are you thinking about?" Haley asked when Mason scoffed without saying anything. He glanced at his sister, whose eyes panned at the road, and even when she wore an expressionless face, he could tell she wasn't okay, and the words of those people ran through her mind."Nothing," she replied, taking the next turn. "We should not tell Mom," Mason mumbled, clearing his throat. Informing their mother would cause her unnecessary worries, and it was the last thing he wanted to do. Other officers listening to the whispers averted their glances toward Mason and Haley’s hands as they discreetly searched for any signs of handcuffs.“There is no cuff, but if the chief is involved, it is not a good sign,” another officer whispered, narrowing their gaze to the man in his early fifties. The chief, finalizing his call, pulled the phone from his ear and slid it into his pocket.
