The head nurse, forcing out a smile, watched as the figures of Mason and Mr. Charles approached her. The look on their faces gave her a hint that Mason had exposed her corruption to Mr. Charles, who must have believed him as he wore a frown while staring at her.

Thinking of a way out of the situation, she quickly stepped forward. "Mr. Charles, is there a problem?” she asked, facing a surprised expression as she shifted her eyes from him to Mason, who also wore a similar expression.
