The next day dawned too early for Mason Williams, and the obnoxious sound made him squint his closed eyes.

“What the hell!” Mason cursed with a groan, his voice muffled by the comfort of his blankets. The sounds of heavy footsteps echoing down the hallway jolted him from a sleep, and as he lay there, wishing to dissolve back into the warmth of his bed, the whispers from the other side of the door made it impossible.

"Why don't you knock on his door?" the unknown voice asked. The unknown voice said.

"Why should I do it?" Another voice asked.

"Because Mrs. Williams gave you an instruction," the first voice reminded, making the other groan softly.

After a few seconds of contemplating, a soft knock came from the other side of the door, making Mason rub his sleepy eyes. He squinted at his alarm clock, and the harsh red numbers revealed the early hour of morning.
