The Gift

After eating lunch, Mason made his way to his room and settled on his bed. He glanced at the form Mrs. Sophia gave him and decided to fill it out later. He placed the paper on his stand and hit the shower.

The rest of the day, Mason didn't have anything else to do, and since Haley was out on a business meeting and Helen and Sally went out, he spent most of his time on his phone and PS5 to pass the time before retiring to bed.

The next morning, Mason opened his sleepy eyes to the sound that soared through his dream, raised his head to the morning light escaping into his room, and quickly shifted his gaze to the alarm clock, which was by his nightstand. 7:45 a.m., the digit blinked, and Mason jumped from his bed.

“Shit the event,” he muttered, remembering his department was supposed to arrive at 7:30 a.m. at the Williams Mansion before proceeding to the museum. Without wasting any more time, he made his way to the bathroom and exited minutes later.
