"Are you surprised at what I have just said to you?" Leen raised an eyebrow. Her sharp gaze caught Aaron's.

"No, I'm not. It's just... you're so independent and strong, it's as if you've never had any need for a man," Aaron replied with a sly grin.

"You're just like the others." Leen looked away to hide her disappointment. "Do you think a woman who hasn't had her father's presence since she was a child doesn't need a man?"

Aaron was completely speechless when he heard that. Did Leen have such a bad past?

"Just forget about it. There's no need to have a thought about it anymore."

Before she smiled again, Leen rubbed the corner of her eyes. As usual, she couldn't expect much from Aaron's answer. He was a young man, too innocent to understand.
