Assassin Atack

Aaron looked at a fine sword of medium quality displayed on the wall.

The sword was made of black steel and looked shiny from the torches in the room. They covered the hilt of the sword with some kind of black rubber that made it non-slip when someone held it. Meanwhile, the scabbard was covered in tanned leather with some beautiful carvings on it.

The sword looked perfect for a level 1 player.

Aaron read the <status> of the sword.

[Night Sky Sword made of black steel combined with some magic potions]

[Damage +30]

[Resistance 200]

[Speed +10]

[Price 150 gold coins]

Aaron nodded slowly. This sword had a much higher damage rate and speed than his broken sword. It only had a +10 attack and +3 speed.

If he faced an opponent with 100 HP, then Aaron would only need less than 4 attacks to defeat him.

But, it would be harder if the opponent was high level.

For example, a player who has reached level 10 has a 200 HP capacity. So killing him, Aaron must land 7 attacks.

For every additional 10 levels, 'Martial Universe Online' will give players an extra 100 HP capacity.

Currently, Aaron is still at level 1, so his HP capacity is only 100.

If Aaron fought an expert with a high-level heirloom weapon that even has a damage level of 1000, he would die by just touching the tip!

The giants in this game world were truly terrifying!

Aaron took the sword and paid immediately. The shopkeeper gave him a bonus of a special belt because he didn't negotiate much.

The sky was dark when the young man left the sword shop. The streets of the city were deserted; anyone knew that being on the streets at night was risky. Ordinary citizens would be powerless in the face of danger.

The quiet and deserted atmosphere gave Aaron a slight advantage. He heard footsteps that were so quiet he could barely hear them.

Aaron stopped walking and closed his eyes. That way, his hearing could function better.

The footsteps were coming from the rooftops.

Assassin!

Accompanied by an icy smile, Aaron said, "Why are you stalking me?"

Aaron's voice was so terrible. It was very cold and piercing. The silent night added to the mess.

Whoever heard it would tremble violently.

Unfortunately, the assassin didn't answer but attacked immediately!

Aaron bare his sword and twisted his body. While laughing at himself, he remembered that the assassins were a secret group of killers who wouldn't tell anyone about the background of their missions.

'Clang!'

An explosion of fire was created when Aaron's sword and the assassin's dagger collided with each other. Due to the immense force, both were pushed back several feet.

Facing the sword from Aaron, the assassin's dagger was broken in half, but it was easily replaced with 2 new daggers. Even now, the Assassin held a dagger in each hand.

Aaron prepared. Again, he applied samurai fighting techniques, even though his sword was not a katana.

Using daggers, the assassin had many disadvantages, but that didn't mean he was without any advantages. Aaron would consider him a fairly evenly matched opponent. He would not underestimate him at all.

The assassin returned to attack after releasing cold vapor from his nose.

He took zigzagging steps randomly to confuse the opponent, but that didn't apply at all to Aaron, who already had a lot of experience with such tactics.

By moving the assassin's eyes, Aaron could guess where he wanted to go.

'Clang!'

Aaron slashed his sword when the assassin suddenly moved to the right, but the assassin still can parry the violent attack. As a result, both of the assassin's daggers were shattered into pieces, leaving him open with no defense at all.

Aaron again attacked with all his might. In just two seconds, he managed to launch 10 attacks at once, making the assassin lose more than half of his HP.

"What the hell?!" Unable to believe what was happening, the assassin snapped. "You're still at level 1! How could you hurt me this much?!"

"More than that..." Aaron smiled widely as he continued his words. "I can even kill you!"

Aaron jumped high, sending his opponent's mind into chaos. After that, his body suddenly swooped down very quickly. He shouted as he plunged his sword!

'Splash!'

The black steel blade struck the assassin squarely on the forehead, making it the final blow. The assassin fell to the ground before his body slowly became a grain of light and disappeared.

[System: You killed another player for the first time. EXP -20]

Aaron let out a long breath. Since the glory days of 'Martial Earth Online' more than a decade ago, killing fellow players was not encouraged at all. For that reason, they made a rule to deduct EXP for those who killed other players.

The amount of EXP cut depended on the level difference between the killer and the killed, as well as on who attacked first.

However, this EXP cut did not apply in official match arenas, or between players who had made a fighting agreement and then proceeded to the Martial Online Company.

But after all, killing fellow players is still discouraged. The Martial Online Company even creates special events for educating players to kill more Destroyer Beasts, Spirit Beasts, orcs, and goblins. Even if there is a level difference, the players will get more benefits.

The assassin left a lot of equipment. Unfortunately, the player K.O. without leaving a spatial bag. But at least Aaron still got armor with level 10. Not bad!

***

Flying Star Restaurant, the western part of Gray Stone City.

Aaron found Alice after ascending to the second floor of the restaurant. Of course, he didn't forget about the dining agreement with the person in charge of orc and goblin affairs in the Gray Stone City.

Apparently, the beauty had been waiting at the restaurant for quite a long time, as evidenced by the drink in her glass being half empty. Her face displayed annoyance when she saw Aaron coming.

Meanwhile, Aaron could only smile awkwardly. He did come late because he had to sell the armor and some of the assassin's weaponry at the thrift shop. He couldn't bring it all to this restaurant.

Aaron pulled out his chair while apologizing for his tardiness.

"It's okay. You must have encountered something on the way." Alice displayed a faint smile at Aaron for the first time. "I've ordered food for you, but if you want another menu, then just order it. I'll pay for everything."

Aaron smiled faintly while shaking his head. He felt that his presence here was not for just dinner.

"What is the important thing you want to tell me, Alice?"

The beauty was stunned for a moment, as she did not expect Aaron to ask such a question so quickly. Almost everyone who met her would make long pleasantries, making the meeting last for a very long time. But this young man was different...

After coughing a few times, Alice began to convey the purpose of this dinner.
