Aaron looked at a fine sword of medium quality displayed on the wall.
The sword was made of black steel and looked shiny from the torches in the room. They covered the hilt of the sword with some kind of black rubber that made it non-slip when someone held it. Meanwhile, the scabbard was covered in tanned leather with some beautiful carvings on it.
The sword looked perfect for a level 1 player.
Aaron read the <status> of the sword.
[Night Sky Sword made of black steel combined with some magic potions]
[Damage +30]
[Resistance 200]
[Speed +10]
[Price 150 gold coins]
Aaron nodded slowly. This sword had a much higher damage rate and speed than his broken sword. It only had a +10 attack and +3 speed.
If he faced an opponent with 100 HP, then Aaron would only need less than 4 attacks to defeat him.
But, it would be harder if the opponent was high level.
For example, a player who has reached level 10 has a 200 HP capacity. So killing him, Aaron must land 7 attacks.
For every additional 10 levels, 'Martial Universe Online' will give players an extra 100 HP capacity.
Currently, Aaron is still at level 1, so his HP capacity is only 100.
If Aaron fought an expert with a high-level heirloom weapon that even has a damage level of 1000, he would die by just touching the tip!
The giants in this game world were truly terrifying!
Aaron took the sword and paid immediately. The shopkeeper gave him a bonus of a special belt because he didn't negotiate much.
The sky was dark when the young man left the sword shop. The streets of the city were deserted; anyone knew that being on the streets at night was risky. Ordinary citizens would be powerless in the face of danger.
The quiet and deserted atmosphere gave Aaron a slight advantage. He heard footsteps that were so quiet he could barely hear them.
Aaron stopped walking and closed his eyes. That way, his hearing could function better.
The footsteps were coming from the rooftops.
Assassin!
Accompanied by an icy smile, Aaron said, "Why are you stalking me?"
Aaron's voice was so terrible. It was very cold and piercing. The silent night added to the mess.
Whoever heard it would tremble violently.
Unfortunately, the assassin didn't answer but attacked immediately!
Aaron bare his sword and twisted his body. While laughing at himself, he remembered that the assassins were a secret group of killers who wouldn't tell anyone about the background of their missions.
'Clang!'
An explosion of fire was created when Aaron's sword and the assassin's dagger collided with each other. Due to the immense force, both were pushed back several feet.
Facing the sword from Aaron, the assassin's dagger was broken in half, but it was easily replaced with 2 new daggers. Even now, the Assassin held a dagger in each hand.
Aaron prepared. Again, he applied samurai fighting techniques, even though his sword was not a katana.
Using daggers, the assassin had many disadvantages, but that didn't mean he was without any advantages. Aaron would consider him a fairly evenly matched opponent. He would not underestimate him at all.
The assassin returned to attack after releasing cold vapor from his nose.
He took zigzagging steps randomly to confuse the opponent, but that didn't apply at all to Aaron, who already had a lot of experience with such tactics.
By moving the assassin's eyes, Aaron could guess where he wanted to go.
'Clang!'
Aaron slashed his sword when the assassin suddenly moved to the right, but the assassin still can parry the violent attack. As a result, both of the assassin's daggers were shattered into pieces, leaving him open with no defense at all.
Aaron again attacked with all his might. In just two seconds, he managed to launch 10 attacks at once, making the assassin lose more than half of his HP.
"What the hell?!" Unable to believe what was happening, the assassin snapped. "You're still at level 1! How could you hurt me this much?!"
"More than that..." Aaron smiled widely as he continued his words. "I can even kill you!"
Aaron jumped high, sending his opponent's mind into chaos. After that, his body suddenly swooped down very quickly. He shouted as he plunged his sword!
'Splash!'
The black steel blade struck the assassin squarely on the forehead, making it the final blow. The assassin fell to the ground before his body slowly became a grain of light and disappeared.
[System: You killed another player for the first time. EXP -20]
Aaron let out a long breath. Since the glory days of 'Martial Earth Online' more than a decade ago, killing fellow players was not encouraged at all. For that reason, they made a rule to deduct EXP for those who killed other players.
The amount of EXP cut depended on the level difference between the killer and the killed, as well as on who attacked first.
However, this EXP cut did not apply in official match arenas, or between players who had made a fighting agreement and then proceeded to the Martial Online Company.
But after all, killing fellow players is still discouraged. The Martial Online Company even creates special events for educating players to kill more Destroyer Beasts, Spirit Beasts, orcs, and goblins. Even if there is a level difference, the players will get more benefits.
The assassin left a lot of equipment. Unfortunately, the player K.O. without leaving a spatial bag. But at least Aaron still got armor with level 10. Not bad!

Flying Star Restaurant, the western part of Gray Stone City.
Aaron found Alice after ascending to the second floor of the restaurant. Of course, he didn't forget about the dining agreement with the person in charge of orc and goblin affairs in the Gray Stone City.
Apparently, the beauty had been waiting at the restaurant for quite a long time, as evidenced by the drink in her glass being half empty. Her face displayed annoyance when she saw Aaron coming.
Meanwhile, Aaron could only smile awkwardly. He did come late because he had to sell the armor and some of the assassin's weaponry at the thrift shop. He couldn't bring it all to this restaurant.
Aaron pulled out his chair while apologizing for his tardiness.
"It's okay. You must have encountered something on the way." Alice displayed a faint smile at Aaron for the first time. "I've ordered food for you, but if you want another menu, then just order it. I'll pay for everything."
Aaron smiled faintly while shaking his head. He felt that his presence here was not for just dinner.
"What is the important thing you want to tell me, Alice?"
The beauty was stunned for a moment, as she did not expect Aaron to ask such a question so quickly. Almost everyone who met her would make long pleasantries, making the meeting last for a very long time. But this young man was different...
After coughing a few times, Alice began to convey the purpose of this dinner.
"It's about orcs and goblins which has come to an alarming number. The Rangers said that they found orc-owned caves about a hundred miles from the Gray Stone City. They appear to be organizing a massive force to attack the town."Alice exhaled a troubled breath and explained that the Gray Stone City could still hold more than 100,000 orcs, but it would be reached by internal conflicts within the town."The mayor has good relations with several large clans. In the orc attack, those clans are willing to send help to this city. However, recently there have been several assassination attempts on the mayor. The best assassins in the entire territory of the Falling Stars Kingdom have joined forces and are trying to assassinate him every time. If the mayor wasn't such a genius swordsman, his life would have been taken long ago."When he heard that, Aaron instantly remembered Old Man Janson.Alice spoke again."I don't know, but the 'Martial Earth Online'
Aaron tried to say calmly and quickly, "I didn't kill him, instead I'm looking for the killer. I guess that the killer is heading towards the mayor's residence, so please don't confront me."Alice was still staring at him in disbelief. "How do you know about that?""It's a long explanation, I won't have time!" Aaron tried to take a step back and go run, but she grew bolder with her sword, leaving him stunned again."I'll go to the mayor's residence, while I'll tie you up in this place, there's no need to go anywhere." Alice began to take a chain from her spatial bag, which Aaron knew to be a spirit tool. It wouldn't be easy to destroy it!"No way!" Aaron pulled out his sword, and with a swift movement parried Alice's sword at her neck.Being parried with such a move, Alice couldn't believe it at all. Aaron's speed was simply beyond reason, it was impossible for a player who was still at level 1.Aaron jumped back to keep his distance. He hel
Aaron was still waiting when someone suddenly drifted down from the sky and landed before him. Aaron couldn't help but be amazed. The person's movements were perfect, even for an intermediate level. The person had it back on Aaron. Its hair was long, fluttering in the wind. From the curves of her body, she looked like a woman. "Get out here." The woman's soft voice. Aaron did not move from his place. He didn't know the woman at all, so how could he trust her so easily? In a precarious situation like this, almost no one can be trusted but oneself. "Who are you?" Aaron asked, keeping his sword ready. "You don't need to know," replied the woman as she slowly took out a cloud-white sword from her waist. "Don't ask for more questions, run quickly right now!" Of course, Aaron was eager to ask other questions until he got enough clarity, but he realized there was not much opportunity and time. If he didn't leave right now, it was very likely
Aaron punched the fork out of the mayor's hand, instantly sending it flying free along with the piece of grilled meat. Smiling with relief, Aaron landed on the floor uneventfully. Slipping and falling. He did it like a goalkeeper deflecting a ball! When he wanted to get up, he pointed several swords at his neck. Aaron raised both hands while standing up slowly."That food was poisonous," Aaron said quickly. The mayor was still sitting calmly when he asked, "How did you know?"Everyone in the dining room looked at him in confusion, including Alice, who had just arrived after desperately trying to catch up with Aaron.Under all those intimidating stares, Aaron still had to be thankful that the mayor's family hadn't eaten yet. Tradition made them swear not to touch the food before the head of the family shoved the food into his mouth. In some circumstances, that tradition could be their salvation."I hunted the poison for this meal." Aaron chos
After parting ways with Alice, Aaron rented a room at a low-class inn in the western section of Gray Stone City. There, he could even get two nights for one silver piece. However, no need to ask about the quality. It was so bad!Not only were cockroaches and rats roaming everywhere, but Aaron also heard sighing noises from the amorous lovers in the next room.It was very disturbing to his mind to sleep peacefully. While staring at the ceiling, he thought about his fate. He was 27 years old but had never experienced that.Even just to have a girlfriend, he had never. Was that normal? His peers might have children soon. If they met Aaron, who still had this pathetic bachelor look, they would make fun of him."Should I find a lover?"In the end, Aaron managed to sleep, despite having to familiarize his ears with all those sighing sounds. To himself, Aaron promised never to rent a room at a cheap inn aga
"Alright, let's go!" SnowWolf exclaimed excitedly after he made sure all the guild members were ready. He strapped his sword to his waist and walked in the front row. The rest of the guild members followed him while chatting cheerfully, as if they were about to enter a playground. Meanwhile, Aaron took his distance and walked to the back of the line. Rather than chatting, he chose to pay attention to his surroundings. During his time playing 'Martial Earth Online', Aaron visited the Vast Gray Stone Field several times. Even so, he had never explored the deepest part. Even for experts, it was too dangerous. Like many other players, Aaron was curious. There wasn't much information about the deepest part. Experts who managed to explore it could be counted on the fingers of one hand, but they don't want to tell much. It was so mysterious that not a few players conspired about the Vast Gray Stone Field. They said that it was the headquarter
The ground beneath SnowWolf's feet suddenly shook violently!Realizing that he was under threat, the man prepared to jump as high as he could. But he was pulled into the ground before he could do it."Brother Snow!""Hold on!" Aaron exclaimed as a guild member ran from his hiding place. But since that person didn't stop running, Aaron immediately chased after him. He ran and jumped up and down the extremely steep slope. Utilizing the potential energy of gravity!Just before touching the valley floor, Aaron managed to catch the swordsman. They rolled on the ground for several dozen meters before coming to a complete stop. And just before the orc army came charging in and realized their existence, Aaron had already brought the young man to the back side of a boulder to hide."You can't be stupid!" Aaron whispered with high emphasis. "If SnowWolf has to die in this game, that doesn't mean he'll die in the real world too!""Shit! Why only
Being trusted by Hans more than his guild members, Aaron could hardly believe what he was hearing. However, he could still understand it as fairness in the guild.Every player must have a special intention when they join a guild. Most of them wanted to collect as much treasure as possible. Thus, almost no members truly had pure and sincere intentions in the guild.Meanwhile, you did not need any special intentions when you decided to have a best friend. Since you weren't interested in your best friend, the friendship became very pure. Hans might have thought that when he heard that SnowWolf had been friends with Aaron."SnowWolf rarely said anything like that before," Hans continued as he run along on the cave ground. "Other than to you, he's only ever said the same thing for me."Aaron nodded his head slowly. He knew SwordWolf-who now had the name SnowWolf-as someone who did not easily pass judgment on others. But if he had issued a judgment, it was alwa
