Aaron was surprised and a little disappointed to see such a small piece of meat on his plate. However, he decided not to show his disappointment but to ask the old man who owned the tavern.

"Is this really enough for dinner, sir?" Aaron asked.

"Yes, this is as much as we can give you, the young customer. This little piece is worth a quart of water in this town," replied the old man seriously.

Aaron realized that the condition of Deadwood Town was indeed very poor and the people there had to struggle to survive. He felt guilty for not knowing the true situation in the town earlier.

"It's okay, sir. I understand the difficult situation in this town. I'll pay it," Aaron said as he took out a water bottle from his bag.

The old man smiled and nodded. Aaron poured the water into the cup provided by the old man and started eating the piece of meat on his plate. Despite its small size, the meal was surprisingly delicious and energizing.
