Large round boulders flew toward the city wall, before hitting it with great force.

Thanks to the diligent efforts of its builders in the past, the city wall has not been toppled by boulders from enemy catapults alone. It still stands, at least for now.

However, some boulders managed to get past the fortifications and destroyed the city buildings, and killed the soldiers in the rearguard.

Cedric in the watchtower looked on with a stunned look, but he was unable to do anything to prevent the catapult attacks from the enemy troops. Casualties would still fall.

Stonehaven Town had been stuck in peace for hundreds of years. Without warfare. That made them care little about battle readiness, leaving the town with no large catapults for defense.

Huge boulders flew toward the city wall, before hitting it hard. Loud booming sounds filled the air, making the townspeople feel uneasy. They tightly closed the doors and windows of their homes while praying that the battle would end soon.
