Slaughter in the Forest

"If you accept, it means you agree to all the risks of this assignment. Your death is beyond our responsibility. Understood?" The beauty said again, now more serious.

Once again Aaron nodded and replied, "I understand."

"Please accept this plaque." Out of thin air, the beauty took out a small plaque, Aaron took it without hesitation.

Aaron smiled with satisfaction. This is just like in the game of 'Martial Earth Online', where a new level started after the player accepted the first mission. If the player wasn't serious, he wouldn't have a level, and his status would be the same as an NPC.

The young man didn't wait any longer. He exited the Diamond Sword Pavilion and ran towards the nearby forest of this city. Aaron had already memorized the streets of Gray Stone City in his head, so he was able to reach the forest in a brief time.

Aaron didn't come across any orcs or goblins right away, but he found their tracks on the wet ground. The creatures were lurking around, but they didn't attack right away.

"They're so smart." Aaron smiled widely.

The orcs and goblins in the 'Martial Universe Online' were much smarter than those in 'Martial Earth Online'. Normally, orcs and goblins would directly attack their opponents without a second thought and with no strategy. But now, look at how patiently they wait for opportunities to open up!

Most players who died under the onslaught of orcs and goblins didn't really realize that they were being monitored by these creatures, so they take a casual attitude and eventually let their guard down. The reason for the orc and goblin attacks was a bug as they appeared suddenly in unreasonable numbers.

If only the players could realize this mistake early on, the chances of them K.O. would be very small, as they could dodge before the ambush happened.

But Aaron wasn't here to dodge. Instead, he wanted to lure those orcs and goblins to come for him!

The young man wandered around to gather some dry twigs as well as large rabbits. For a highly experienced sword master like himself, Aaron had no trouble at all. When a rabbit passed nearby, he simply threw his sword!

And it was right on target!

A sword master can make his sword into any weapon, as well as turn anything into his sword!

He managed to collect five rabbits before burning them all with the branches he had collected earlier. He ate only one piece of rabbit meat, while it left the rest in the fire to burn on. The smell of burnt rabbit meat filled the entire forest!

Faint sounds of leaves crunching could be heard. As time passed, the sounds became more numerous and closer. Aaron put down the rabbit meat onto the ground. He began to feel the take of the sword at his waist.

Aaron felt something sneaking up behind him, but he pretended not to notice. Until the movement was less than a meter away from him, Aaron suddenly rises to his feet and very quickly turned his body backward.

The blade slashed the head of the orc that tried to attack him from behind!

Just as the orc's body fell with its head, other orcs jumped out from within the thicket with loud cries. They formed a line and immediately surrounded the young man.

Aaron watched the orcs. They wielded jagged daggers made of bone. The armor they wore was wolf skins and fur, woefully inadequate for combat use except to scare the opponent. But Aaron wasn't afraid at all, even finding them very cute in their Halloween costumes!

One orc jumped up and attacked without much thought. Aaron simply flicked his sword once to knock his opponent down.

Now two orcs jumped simultaneously towards him but were immediately knocked down after Aaron made a circular motion. For the young man, one strike was enough to kill them!

More and more orcs were attacking him, but the young man had absolutely no trouble wiping them out with his sword!

After 30 minutes, Aaron successfully finished the battle and came out as the winner. He was breathing heavily. Even if he was a sword master, but with a low level like this, still slaughtering many orcs at the same time was something exhausting.

But Aaron didn't wait any longer, he began to collect all the orc heads he managed to kill. There were a total of 50 very ugly orc heads. The average orc defeated by him had a level of 1 to 5, but none exceeded level 10, or else perhaps Aaron would have had great difficulty.

"This whole orc... I'll get 250 silver coins. That's equal to 2 gold coins and 50 silver coins. I can replace my armor with a better one." Aaron exhaled slowly, he was sure that it had reduced the durability of his armor quite a lot. "Bring up my status!"

Aaron did not have any difficulties while facing the orcs, but that did not mean he did not receive any attacks at all. After being hit by several attacks, his armor resistance was almost depleted.

Diamond Sword Pavilion, Gray Stone City.

Aaron placed all the orc heads that he had killed on the ground. After straightening his waist from exhaustion, he looked around and found many other sword cultivators looking at him with disbelieving gazes.

An officer came over carrying several pieces of paper and a pen. Looking Aaron up and down, his gaze showed suspicion.

"These are all yours?" the officer asked.

"Yes. This is all." Aaron answered briefly.

The officer still harbored suspicions, but then chose not to care. If Aaron bought all those orcs and goblin heads from another sword cultivator, it didn't matter much. To the officer, anyone who brought orc or goblin heads to him can deserve the money.

He started counting and taking notes. But before giving Aaron his wages, a female voice stopped his movements.

"Wait a minute!"
