Accepting the Challenge From Mrs. Moe

“Um, everything is fine.  I was just looking for you here because you left something behind. About this money… this money is my savings, I just took it from the bank and accidentally dropped it.” Miya tried to fool her husband, but unfortunately, her husband really believed her easily.

“Are you serious?”

“Yes. Do I look like I’m lying? That’s why I came here anyway, right? Do you think I have any acquaintances in this company?”

Alan melted again and then he nodded his head perfectly. He kissed Miya’s forehead and told Miya to go home.

All of these events were witnessed so realistically by Deryl, the man seemed to be smiling wryly.

“Will that woman really stop to look for you, Mr. Wiltson?” Sebastian asked.

Deryl glanced at Sebastian and he grinned. “Do you think that treasure-crazy woman will really keep quiet? Of course not, believe me that woman will do a thousand and one ways to get more money.”

“Then what will you do next, sir? Don’t let Mrs. Moe find out about this, because of course she will be really angry with you.”

“I will make the woman’s husband know what his wife’s true character is. And I will make that woman ashamed for dealing with me.”

With a sly grin, Deryl immediately stepped into the elevator, followed by Sebastian very obediently.

On the other hand, Mrs. Moe, who was seen sitting with Serena, looked at her granddaughter with a warm gaze.

“How is your marriage with Deryl, is he a good man Serena?” Mrs. Moe asked.

Serena smiled faintly, then she nodded her head perfectly. “Deryl is such a perfect husband, and I don’t know what to say about this, Grandma. Once again, thank you very much because you have met me with a man as good as Deryl.”

Mrs. Moe smiled, until Excel came closer again and looked at Serena and her grandmother with a scornful look.

“Which guy isn’t nice to you, Serena? You have a lot of wealth, you are the only recognized heir of Grandmother, let alone a cripple like this, even if you were ugly, Deryl would be fine with you.”

“Excel, don’t be so presumptuous! Deryl is a good guy!” Mrs. Moe snapped, not accepting it. Excel laughed again as if laughing at her grandmother’s words.

“Do you dare to bet, Grandma? A man as handsome as Deryl would willingly marry a paralyzed woman like Serena? This is something that makes no sense in the world. Don’t dream that Deryl will be sincere and that Deryl’s marriage to Serena will last. Does Grandma dare to bet? I can even confirm that Deryl will divorce Serena after he gets all the wealth in this family.”

“Okay, I will accept your challenge, Excel. If Deryl is that kind of man then I will give twenty percent of the Moe family’s wealth to you, but if your words are wrong then you can leave the Moe family’s residence without a penny.”

Excel was silent for a moment then nodded her head steadily in response to her grandmother’s words.

“Okay, I’m not afraid. I accept all your challenges, Grandma!”

“Mr. Wiltson, this afternoon you are waiting for Mrs. Moe at the head company.”

Deryl, who was busy studying several files, frowned perfectly.

“Aren’t we meeting at home?” Deryl asked.

“There’s a little problem, sir. The incident this morning was known to Mrs. Moe and it seems that Mrs. Moe will ask you about it.”

Deryl held his breath perfectly. It was really bad luck from Miya, that woman always made him feel troubled.

“Okay, I’ll be right there.”

After finishing his work, Deryl immediately rushed to meet Mrs. Moe. The two of them were now sitting in a private room and were enjoying dinner. Deryl looked at Mrs. Moe. He didn’t know what was on Mrs. Moe’s mind but the expression on her face didn’t look good.

“I heard this morning you had a guest, correct?” Mrs. Moe asked with that flat expression on her face. “Was she your ex-wife?” Mrs. Moe guessed again.

“Yes, you are right, Mrs. Moe. The guest who came to the company was my ex-wife.”

“Why did that woman come to you, Deryl?”

“That woman wants to come back to me, she is trying to come back to me. As you guessed, that woman saw me succeed so she felt very sorry for letting me go.”

Mrs. Moe was silent for a moment, she took a sip of the wine that was in front of her. “Then what is your response?”

“I gave the woman some money to stop, but I’m sure she will never stop. So I thought about making the woman get karma, not from God but from me.”

Mrs. Moe nodded her head, then took a deep breath.

“Deryl, I have such high expectations for you. I hope you don’t disappoint me. Therefore I thought of the best solution to this problem.”

“What do you mean, madam?”

“You know that Serena is the heir to my inheritance, right? And you know that I’m old enough to just live longer. I just don’t want, when I die, you will leave Serena and take all the inheritance away. I don’t want to take any risks.”

“Isn’t all this discussed in the agreement letter, Madam?”

“I don’t think this is all clear, and I see Serena really loves you. Seeing that Serena loves you so much, I’m afraid that she will be heartbroken and hurt because of you, Deryl.”

“Mrs. Moe, believe me that I will never hurt Serena. She is a very gentle woman who doesn’t deserve to be hurt. So it’s absolutely impossible.”

“So I need proof, Deryl.”

“What’s that?”

“What if it’s like this, I will give you all the trust to manage my assets, make you the head of my company’s main company, and include you on the list of Moe family heirs. However, with the condition, first you must be able to cure Serena from her paralysis. Even though Serena appears to be permanently paralyzed, the doctor says she can still be cured, and the second thing is that you have to be able to convince at least three new business contacts to join and invest in the company you currently hold. So, do you agree to my challenge, Deryl?”

Deryl swallowed hard, this was the most terrifying requirement. If the former was to help Serena recover, Deryl would still try hard to do that. However, can Deryl convince three new business relations with his abilities?

I am able to accept these two conditions of your challenge and I will prove to you that in approximately two years, I will get three new business contacts who want to invest in my company.” Deryl answered steadily.
