Chapter 77:

Ethan sat down on a couch in his living room and had his eyes fixed on the ceiling. He wasn't sure what he was thinking about, but he was certain that something was coming to him.

"Fuck!" He groaned as he punched the bridge of his nose in frustration and sat up on his couch. He reached for the wine in front of him and, without a second thought, took a large gulp from it.

He didn't look fine, and his mother saw it, but she wasn't sure how to ask him what was wrong. It was obvious that he wouldn't bother opening up to her, and it made her feel bad. So she resorted to doing one thing: calling one person she knew he'd talk to once he was available.

Just as Ethan kept taking larger gulps from each glass he poured, the doorbell rang out so loud that it disrupted his thinking for a split second.

"Who could that be at this hour?" He asked as he looked at his wristwatch. It was pretty late for anyone to visit, but someone was at the door.
