Spatial Space

As an individual who could have any woman he wanted, she still could not understand why Jabri Vaahid spent millions to marry her and have her carry his heir. But whatever the reason, she didn't care. After all, it wasn't like she would stick around to find out.

Ella opened the door only a small crack and cautiously peered out at him with a deep frown.

"Can I help you, Mr. Vaahid?"

Seeing her cautious manner, Jabri scoffed disdainfully. "You do know that I own you, right? If I wanted to jump you, do you think you could stop me?"

"Of course, I know. But I'm sure that's not what you're here for."

Her confident and no nonsense attitude stumped him. Jabri shifted his weight to his other foot and hesitated for a brief moment, then resolutely stretched out his hand. "This is an ancestral heirloom. According to my family's tradition, as my wife, it now belongs to you."

"Okay…?"

Heirloom? She was only his bought bride, that too, for only two years. So why was he giving the heirloom of his family to her?

Ella hadn't encountered this situation in her past life. Or...did she?

She remembered he visited her on this day. But at that time, her door was wide open, and she had laid listlessly on the wide bed, too absorbed in the pain of her husband's betrayal to pay him any attention. After placing something on her bedside table, he expectantly glanced at her as if waiting for a response.

Unfortunately, she hadn’t even turned her head to acknowledge him.

A silent sigh resounded in the room, and the next thing she knew, he was gone and she was on her own again.

"Take it." Jabri grabbed her hand and decisively stuffed the object in her palm. Before she could raise an objection, he turned and walked away.

Ella blinked and closed her door in confusion.

What was up with him? Were all rich men so eager to get rid of their family heirlooms?

Walking back to her bed, she sat on the edge and opened her fist to look at the object in her hand.

The moment her sight fell on the item, she almost choked on her breath. "This..."

In the center of her palm lay a dull purple jewel stringed through a silver chain. So…it wasn’t a treasure but trash that he was trying to get rid of?

Sigh.

She should’ve known.

As a bought bride, how could he give her his family’s precious treasure? For a brief moment, Ella had almost taken his ‘as my wife’ claim seriously.

“As my wife, my foot!”

She threw the pendant on the bed, and went back to the closet. It was better for her to leave. Only this way could she cut off all her hopes and desires for a family.

Grabbing her bag, she returned to the room and looked around to make sure she wasn’t leaving anything behind.

But her gaze was inadvertently drawn to the purple pendant. Ella hesitated for a brief moment, then sauntered over and decisively put on the pendant.

“He bought me for a million dollars, but the one enjoying all the money is someone else. I'll take this pendant as a form of compensation.”

She would sell it and use the money to buy more supplies.

Ella thought when the world was about to end, she shouldn’t care about anything else other than survival. As for that scumbag husband and slutty friend…

Heh…in five days' time, the money in their hands would be rendered useless!

At the thought, a beautiful smile bloomed on her face. She held up the pendant and carefully scrutinized it to estimate its value, turning it back and forth in great enthusiasm. Just as she was about to put it inside her blouse, she scratched her finger on the sharp edge. A drop of her crimson blood dripped on the purple gem and disappeared.

“Eh?”

Ella’s eyes widened as she stared at the jewel in disbelief. If it wasn’t for the acute pain throbbing from her finger, she would’ve thought what she saw was just an illusion.

Right at this moment, her head began spinning. Her body felt light and weightless, and she stumbled to the bed with her heart hammering in her chest.

“What...what’s happening to me!?”

The words barely left her mouth, when the scene before her eyes changed.

It transformed into a vast space with a large spring water beside a warehouse and a house. The water sparkled under the radiance of a clear and cloudless sky, while lush vegetables and herbs grew around it.

Chickens and ducks ran about, while cows and goats lazily grazed on grass.

Seeing this scene, two words flashed in her mind.

Spatial Space!

A portable space where one could store anything!

After the descent of the apocalypse, spatial superpower became one of the most formidable, envied, and sought after special abilities.

People with independent spaces could rob an entire store, mall, supermarket, and or warehouse without worry or fear of attracting trouble to themselves.

“I…I can rob a warehouse and a super mall in five days!”

So what if she didn’t have money? So what if she didn’t have a secret safe house?

So what if she didn’t have an expensive SUV?

She had a spatial space!

Ella’s violet pupils nearly shot out two beams of light as she heaved in anticipation for the arrival of the apocalypse!

Happily skipping over to the spring, she scooped a handful of water and took a sip.

"Sigh...how sweet!"

The spring water wasn't only sweet. It left a cool feeling in her body and a refreshing taste in her mouth. Spotting a shinny object from her peripheral vision, Ella turned and saw a...purple gem?

Thinking of the dull gem that bestowed her with this spatial space, her eyes glowed and she hurriedly picked up the gem. But the instant it entered her palm, the gem disappeared.

'This is awfully similar to when my blood disappeared.'

She knew now that the disappearance of her blood was probably some form of a recognition ritual. It should be the same with the gem, right?

As if triggered by her thought, a flood of memories rushed into her mind. The spatial space belonged to a...fallen angel!?

Da**! She did not want to get involved with those beings!

Ella clenched her fist and hurriedly suppressed her churning emotions. Jabri Vaahid was the one who gave her the purple pendant. Even if it belonged to a fallen angel, they shouldn't have anything to do with her...right?

With this thought, she vigorously shook her head and focused on digesting the memories. The independent space could be used to raise livestock and grow vegetables. Time in the house and warehouse stood still. In other words, she could take a pot of steaming soup into the house, and it would remain hot no matter how long she kept it inside.

Great! She wouldn't have to worry about her food going bad or spoiling after expiry dates passed!

The spring water had the ability to cleanse wounds, strengthen the body, boost mental and physical recovery, and heal...zombie bites!?

Ella felt her head spin.

The world had entered an era of survival of the fittest, because the zombie virus had no cure. It spread through saliva and bites, and the change began within 3 hours after infection.

But if there was a way to heal the bites, then...wouldn't half of the population be saved?
