38 A War Reporter

Antonio brushed his long, thick beard, as his thick shade reflected the intense sunlight.

He had a camera in one hand, and a tripod in the other, along with a small, black suitcase.

From afar, one could guess his identity as a reporter, who would go anywhere just to get the juiciest news for his editorial team.

He was currently at the border of Middle East and Farez, the only neighbouring country that allowed entry to Middle East.

Because of the ongoing civil war, aircraft had been banned, following the shoot-on-sight order that the three major powers tacitly agreed on.

To enter Middle East, Antonio could only follow a train, and that was after being scrutinized at different checkpoints.

Feeling the thundering sound of the train as it roared to life, Antonio momentarily closed his eyes, treating himself to a brief moment of relaxation.

As the journey continued, Antonio could feel the change in atmosphere, as everywhere felt melancholic, the tension in the air, high at its peak.
