As the king gazed at the necklace he asked "So you're a mage now?" as he turned his head away and walked up to his throne.
Andrey stopped just before the steps which lead to the throne. "I'm not exactly sure. I do have the energy within me, or so Dea'n'ha told me. I can feel it, though." he answered as he stared at his hands which as if emit power.
"And that necklace?" The king asked as he crossed his leg and looked arrogantly at Andrey. His head held high.
Could it be that the king feared mages? Andrey couldn't help but let this thought run through his head.
"It's..." he took a few moments to think over his words closely before replying and continued "to help me control my power." Well, it wasn't a lie. It wasn't the real reason it was there, but it did indeed help him with his anger issues.
"I see. Does this mean you have grown THAT much in strength?" the king asked extending his head forward in surprise.
"I can't really say. I know I'm better than when I first came here."
"Don't be so stiff, come on." the king said. The truth was that the king really looked strong and arrogant. He appeared to be such, but he wasn't really. He was just different.
Behind the throne, a man came out and lowered his head towards the king. It was the royal servant. Almost as if he was hiding all of this time there. The king whispered something in his ear and said "Andrey, I'll ask of you to wait a while until my servant returns. He's getting something you would need."
Andrey nodded after which the king asked the bird's name.
"Dea." and then came laughter following the reply. The king facepalmed as he didn't really expect something so basic.
"You sure found an original name for it." the king joked.
Honestly, it was kind of depressing to be in his company, especially alone, as somehow even the air was heavy.
"Yeah... thanks. Everyone keeps telling me that." the boy replied with a bored facial expression.
"It's here, my king." the servant appeared through the gate carrying a book and a feather.
It was apparently full of notes sticking out of it.
The king opened it and browsed through it. Then he stood up from the throne and gave it to Andrey.
Browsing through it, the book had many drawings centimeters and different design patterns.
"Use this book to pick something for yourself or just write in your own." the king said.
"But I've never done anything like this in my life? Does everybody.." as he continued complaining Dea'n'ha 's voice sounded in his head "Wait. Let me try something."
He felt the urgent need to put his hand over a blank page. The bird's eyes started glowing and spiritual energy started coming out from Andrey's hand.
"I took the sizes from the mage which conjured your robes. Now I want you to imagine the best version of you so you can project that into the book's page." the calming voice of the sorceress rang straight inside his head.
Andrey thought about it for a second and closed his eyes. Suddenly to the king's amaze under Andrey's arm the blue light started to draw a professional design for clothes unseen by anyone.
"So you are a mage now, that's for sure." the king said and took the book in his arms to see what happened after the magic was over.
There was a perfect drawing of the clothes he imagined. It was supposed to be custom clothes, but it looked more like what the king defined as animal hunter clothes. Although, it still looked nothing like it.
The upper body was dressed with a black shirt with an opened chest, underneath was revealed a black lacework that covered a part of his chest. The shirt featured detachable sleeves.
The lower body was straight black elastic pants.
He had two belts that were connected to a stand on his back which was made for the black blades to fit in.
Right behind his neck a long cloak with a black top and dark red bottom. On top of the cloak, a white cross shape with a black line inside it was formed.
"What is this?" the king asked stunned.
"This is what I want tailored, king Goodlie." Andrey said confidently. Though still pretty amazed by what he just did. "Thanks, Dea'n'ha!" he replied to the female beauty on the other side of the telepathic conversation.
It sure does look like a superhero outfit and I didn't really expect that, but I always found this style to my appeal. I can't believe how all the anime and fantasy have impacted me. What I can't believe more is the fact that just now I used a spell to do all this which I don't even understand the basics off. I'm not even that good at drawing. Was it even my doing, though? Dea'n'ha as if channeled this through me.
"You heard him!" the king yelled and gave the book to the servant "Tell them to get it done as fast as possible."
The servant obeyed and left in a haste through the gates.
"Now tell me about the blades. These are your mage-crafted weapons?"
"Who knows? They have my name written on them. I don't know more than you do. I know they can't hurt me."
"What do you mean they can't hurt you?"
"They can't pierce through my skin." Andrey explained.
"What?!" the king couldn't believe such blades existed.
"I am honestly more amazed by how amazed people are in this world rather than the world itself." Andrey said with slight irony. "There's something about them, king Goodlie. I already feel attached to them. I don't know if it's because my name is on them or because of else."
Trying to avoid the topic as it might lead to spoiling the truth about the evil inside him, Andrey quickly switched topic " Actually, where is Nyadzel? I went there to leave my luggage, but he wasn't home."
"He is traveling to the battlefield. Somewhere around now he should be in the deserts where he found you. After getting your outfit done, you're going to go to him. That'll be your first mission. You will have to escort a famous merchant to Ribas. There you will take a ship to Irisvil and meet Nyadzel at Fronthornis."
"I'm glad you trust in my knowledge, but unfortunately I have only looked at the map a few times. I am not too familiar with it yet."
"Don't worry, you'll get used to it quickly. Nyadzel is with his squad at Fronthornis. About to go to battle. You'll join him and travel with him for a while." the king foretold the boy's feature as he didn't really have any other choice.
The conversation was so tiring that Andrey preferred to go to Mage-Mountain and back instead of talking with the king again. Gladly, it was over. The king gave the key to Nyadzel's home and the boy went over to stay the night.
The king is really odd. I still can't really wrap my finger around it, but he is somehow strange, but I can feel that he is good. What is this strange sensation? It's as if I can't really feel anything negative towards him...
Whatever. They said that my outfit should be done by a few days. I'll read some of the books I got at Mage-Mountain and prepare myself for what's to come. I really better prepare some geography knowledge. Arghh, it's so much to learn, yet so little is known. It's making me mad. I'll just resume my training schedule and learn whatever I can until the time comes.
After leaving his luggage at Nyadzel's place, Andrey really wanted to just shake off the stress. It was getting dark anyway, so he had to think of something to eat before he started training.
He didn't really have any money. He just sighed and started searching for money in the house. Of course, Nyadzel had left some on the chessboard. There was a small letter underneath the coin.
"For that one time you beat me"
"Hah! It wasn't just once, but sure, I'll take it." Andrey replied in the empty room as if Nyadzel was there to actually hear.
After going to the nearest shop Andrey bought some veggies and fish then came back home. Andrey didn't really like fish, but as it's always fresh he picked it for health's sake.
Grabbing a few bites from the cabbage he realized that this cabbage tasted great. It seems that the lack of pollution really does make a huge difference. Or maybe it was just that he was extremely hungry.
"Why didn't you ever buy cabbage, man?" Andrey spoke out loud as if talking to Nyadzel again.
Okay, I won't get stuffed, because I have to train first.
Andrey went out in the lawn and started with a small jog. He realized his body felt extremely light. As if he could run all the way to Philius and back. What was really strange is that he should be exhausted from walking all the way from Mage-Mountain to Princepsius. Not to mention the fact that it was a few hours of fast walking.
Andrey continued his natural training, but he managed to do it with extreme haste. He was faster, stronger, and more enduring.
The training dummy. It was time to test the two-hand sword on it.
The sword is light?
Andrey didn't feel the sword heavy. He could hold it still with a single hand.
What is this feeling? It's as if I can feel something come out of my arm? he spoke as he moved his arm around to check if there's anything there. His movement completely ignored the weight of the sword. The next moment he realized this fact he was mind-blown again.
What's happening?
As he asked this he suddenly felt a huge pain in his chest in a matter of seconds resonating through his whole body. Black sparks started coming out of him as his whole body's muscles become stiff.
"AAAAAAAARRRGHHHH! " he screamed in pain not able to even fall to the ground because of his body as if frozen in pain.
The wooden sword in his hand got crushed to pieces. The necklace was floating, the skull's eyes red and small black needles coming out of it.
In incredible speed his hands as if on their own grabbed him by the rib cage and as if were trying with all their force to spread him in half.
"D...Dea!" he managed to speak out just after which closed his eyes - unconscious. But his body's self destruct hadn't ended. The fingers already half an inch inside had been covered in blood.

Small bubbles of blood floating around Andrey as the black aura kept them mid-air. His flesh about to be split open as his eyes closed - lifeless.Such is the sight nobody but the bird Dea could see. It took long, almost too long for the sorceresses to open a portal for Dea'n'ha to go through and appear right before this menace.Strong wind immediately applied amazing force upon her body, a little more and she would have been blown away. Her years of experience in sorcery gave her a hand and she managed to form an arcane shield in front of her. "Andrey!" She screamed, but then noticed that his eyes were closed as if he was in deep sleep. She closed her eyes for a second and her lips moved casting a spell. She could see Andrey's body and from his back large black hands gripping his chest open. What is this? she thought as she concentrated on the hands to see what formed to be a mouth. Both hands had mouths! Did this mean they could speak? This negative energy would kill anyone. What's
"Calm down. You're not a monster." Dea'n'ha replied, trying to start explaining. "Do you know what could have happened if this black creature were set free?!" Andrey, still in shock, spilled out his worries. "I have another bet on this. Sit down and let us think this through." she said with her calming voice, which as if was a spell to Andrey's mind. "Okay, you are right. Let me try to listen." he said as he realized the blades were in his hands. He tried letting them go, but he couldn't. His hands were so stiff that he just couldn't release the blades. "You saw that I could hear the blades speak too, right?" she began explaining her idea as Andrey nodded to confirm he was following her. "I think that the blades and that being inside you are connected. It is no wonder that you are attached to the blades, that you can NOT be hurt by the blades and at the same time those hands and the blades seemed to talk to each other. They were craving for each other. They NEEDED each other." De
It's been a few days of training and studying the arts of manipulating mana. Andrey received basic lessons from Dea'n'ha in spiritual energy control. What was most important is that the boy now could tell the clock. The spell for the biological clock wasn't really something hard. It was a great start to learning magic because it really didn't require much energy and was beginner-friendly as it allowed the caster to fail many times without tiring out. The young mage didn't really fail much. The hardest part for him was to learn how to expose the energy and get it to flow out of him. What was harder was manipulating it outside his body. He defined it as "It's the same as blowing air into the wind and expecting you will manipulate its direction afterward". There was a big relief, though. Dea'n'ha told him that in time he will learn to feel mana in the air. First, he will, of course, feel his own, and then sense others. She then shared that the Eyesight trick would give him a vision of
Ah, missed it this time. Andrey spoke as he realized he failed to see the beautiful sight in the King's Hall, as it happened at 12:00 exactly. Andrey thought having a clock is really amazing. He really enjoyed being organized and all his life he has always tried to be early or at least on time.Well, the king didn't really tell him at what time he should arrive so he wasn't really late.Passing by those great statues of war Andrey gazed upon them again. Spending a few moments looking at one of them he realized that there aren't any statues of mages around. Why? It was really weird as mages were obviously really amazing! Such power and potential! Does this mean they never went to war?The royal guards moved aside their weapons and invited the young man inside. The great doors opened up and the glorious throne was as if bigger than the whole room. The King's Hall was so beautifully made and the engineer behind it was more than just a genius. The king with a crossed leg and a glass of
Meeting Polkas Reven in the early morning was important. The road to Ribas wasn’t really that unsafe as there were many people traveling. It was the second-closest village to the capital, after all. The road to the village goes near a forest and the forest means wild-life. The dangers of nature should always be kept in one’s mind unless you want to be pray to an innocent hungry predator. Andrey prepared for the road with a bag of supplies he bought from the marketplace. He had a few books and the map he got the previous day from the accessories shop. Now the only problem the young man had was that he had no idea where The Grand Shrine of Philius was located at. Due to all the excitement for his new gear or as he joked about it “super-hero costume” or simply called it “clothes”, he completely had forgotten to ask how to get to the desired location. He went out at 05:00 and started walking towards The Market-Plaza to ask about the location of the shrine. His unusual look attracted ma
The businessman with huge hope muttered to the guards.“There was a black-dressed boy, he -” as the guards intercepted him “Silence!”The guards were heavily armored and prepared to fight. The one who seemed to be the leader of this patrol walked towards the girl. While taking a few heavy steps towards the pray, he took a second to notice the businessman full of jewelry and expensive clothes.“Th… the… the man with the robe tried to rape me!” she said in tears.Andrey hiding underneath could hear this. Smart girl! He thought as he smiled slightly.“What!? I would never! I came to get my money from her!” the businessman said and continued “there was a boy who came here and beat us down…”, but the noble guard fell to his knees and looked at the wounds the girl had received and the fact her dress was slightly torn was enough evidence. “Shut up!” the guard yelled and made a few signs with his hands. The other two representatives of the law and order understood the order and quickly restra
The man standing in front of the shrine was really old. He wasn’t expensively dressed as Andrey expected. His face was covered in wrinkles. He was about a meter and sixty in height and a-top-of-that he was hunched over, making him look even shorter. The giant mole on his forehead made it hard to keep eye contact. He deeply reminded Andrey of the monks on Earth. Orange kimono and orange sandals. He had only one accessory and it was some small wooden form tied to a simple rope on his neck.“I am really sorry for being late!” Andrey quickly apologized in a rush. “It’s okay, young one.” the merchant replied with a high pitched voice. Andrey felt some familiar tone to his voice. It genuinely reminded him of the Father at the church he grew. Of course, they looked nothing alike, but this old dried out from talking voice was truly something you remember easily. “Polkas Reven, right?” Andrey asked just to confirm. He was certain that this was the person, but still, he was known to trade wit
“And what would the name of this little black-good-for-obvious-nothing pretending to be high-and-mighty sent by the great King Goodlie to do what he’s best at-nothing?” Galera continued to try to insult Andrey.“Now, now… well... whatever.” the old geezer tried to stop them from fighting, but in the end just gave up.One of the shady figures behind there stood a bit to the side. Andrey didn’t manage to focus on each individual enough, therefore he failed to notice that it appeared to be a woman. Not any woman, actually. “Andrey Makiya. From Earth.” the boy replied to his challenger.“Earth?” a visible confusion was on everyone’s face. One of the voices chuckled, it was exactly the woman. Only then did Andrey notice there was a female amongst them. “Dea’n’ha, may I know what’s so funny?” Galera turned to the female.“Galera, you shouldn’t mess with the boy. Don’t get us all in trouble!” she warned and walked towards Andrey lowering her hoodie. She stood by him and caught him by the ha
“Immortal douche, my ass.” Amryr’s voice sounded behind the cracking noise.Andrey could see only darkness after the shattered mirror-like world of Golehanei’s game, his young student being his light in the confusing, lightless tunnel.Inhaling deeply, Andrey opened his eyes. The sight of the ancient being rotting right in front of him was the answer to the many questions that had just arisen. A black-and-white splash of energy cracked open the shell just seconds after Lord Red Eye’s awakening.“Amryr…” Andrey whispered. The loyal follower’s contrasting mana widened, making a splash, completely opening half of the shell.“Well, what can I say? The shell grew a lot from the moment that Golehanei noticed we had an ace up our sleeve.” Onyx smiled.Andrey’s eyes wandered from person to person, landing lastly on Dea’n’ha.“I see. Your eye technique. But… what happened?” Just as he spoke, a strange tingle in his right palm pulled his gaze. “The Abyssal Crack Magic… It resonated…” As he obs
Oh, great! If I get his characters killed before mine die, then I’ll be the obvious winner, won’t I? Does this mean that I won’t die even if my Main Character dies? If I win first, then the game is over, right? The Thief Class struggled as his neck cracked multiple times due to the twist he did on his own. The opposing Knight Class screamed in an angry tone, “This is a living abomination! Die!” Seeing how The Thief Class’ body wouldn’t let go of the mighty sword, punches started raining on his face. The armored gloves dealt a lot of damage to the poor Thief Class, but it didn’t really matter. He had no mind left to notify him of the pain. All he had was one thing - desire to kill.
“Let me see how you fare now. This one can’t be decided on sheer luck, descendant. May the fun and games… continue…” The ancient spoke, as a voice coming from nobody knows where announced, “Round Two.” A dialogue box appeared before Andrey. Yeah, like hell, this one’s gonna take you down even the better. “Round Two. For this round you may pick only two cards. Mage Thief Knight UNAVAILABLE CARDS: Demon Maiden”

“The game… begins, challengers.” The start was announced by a mysterious voice and all of a sudden Andrey could see through the eyes of his main character. Interesting. Somehow I am seeing both what she sees and what I see as well. How does the human brain even manage to endure the simultaneous cognition stress? // Letters in BOLD are the main character’s telepathy to Andrey// My Master, what shall I do now? A most seducing and alluring voice resounded within Andrey’s mind. Oh! Is she actually capable of reasonable communication? Impressive. // Letters
Conjured by nothingness in the air, five cards appeared, twice the size of a human. The terrain reshaped and all of a sudden, it appeared that Andrey was standing in a theater. Looking around, he could see many empty seats, but more importantly, the scene was incredibly vast. The things that were easily seen were a well in the middle, a tower next to it, a few chairs along with a wooden table. They seemed rather medieval and old, but that seemed to be the idea behind the whole game. Playing a medieval role in a theatrical scenery. “We already started!? How about you tell me what the game is about first, eh!?” Andrey shouted, his eyebrows narrowed due to his annoyance. Golehanei’s voice replied to him with a cold tone. “Be not so rushful, Andrey Makiya… de
Besides the sound of an incoming wind torrent, Andrey appeared like a black thunder, piercing through the clouds, right after jumping off from the conjured black-and-white tower. After restoring his vision past the clouds, he immediately navigated at the ancient human, who was patiently waiting in his cradle. Swinging just slightly. A massive barrage of a hundred walls of rock erupted from the ground, creating a mighty shielding to protect Golehanei from the incoming battle-mage. The rumbling noise in addition with the ancient being’s impatience slowly arising worked as proof that Andrey had been passing through his defense effortlessly. A sword landed right next to the ancient’s throat. Stopped not by Andrey’s will, but instead by the incredibly precise and strong grip of Golehanei’s finger tips.
Andrey put on a little smile in an attempt to mock the man, who claimed to be greater than them. “Does the superior being deal with conflicts with force or with wisdom? Time we found out, I say.” He expected his taunting words to provoke the being, and at least see an eyebrow get narrowed, but instead Golehanei spoke calmly. “Young Andrey Makiya, when wisdom finds its end, the forces of power take over. Such would seem to be the case, descendant.” A fist coming straight at Andrey’s face was immediately countered as the red-eyed battle-mage deflected the incoming knuckles by punching his opponent’s arm in the triceps with an upper-cut. Although unexpected, suddenly Golehanei forced his arm downwards, overpowering the fist, in an attempt to strike Andrey’s head, as if to slash it with a blade.
“Dea’n’ha!” Andrey startled at the sorceress. “Y-yes!” She replied in a frail voice. “Can you communicate with this golden-dressed freak!?” Dea’n’ha lowered her head and spoke. “I can only convert information with my Abyssal Crack magic… I can’t really drain the language abilities out of it. It’s like attaining something from the void.” “Tsk.” Andrey clicked his tongue and looked at the buffed, half-naked man, who had only black pants, golden belt, and a golden collar that went all the way from his neck to covering half his back and chest. The ancient human had a golden ring on his left pointing finger, and dark brown leather bracelets with gold imbued in them on both his wrists.
