Marcus knew that wouldn't be possible. The Marcus they bullied is gone; this is the new Marcus.

“Hazel, it's alright. We have already told Selena we would be coming. If we decide not to attend, they will think we're afraid of them or hiding from them.”

Hazel understands all of that, but she is still worried. She was about to say something when Penelope walked right in. She heard a little of the conversation.

“Are both of you going out this evening?”

Hazel nods.

“Yes, Mother, our class will be doing a get-together at Lovi Restaurant in just three hours from now.”

Penelope smiles a little, knowing something might happen. She knows Hazel and Marcus have been avoiding their classmates; however, she sees this as an opportunity for her to make Marcus feel welcome, so she can strike him without him realizing it.

“You can go with my car.”

Everyone was dead silent; they couldn't believe what Penelope just said—she wants them to use her car, Hazel quickly utters.

“Mom, you want us to use you
