Marcus walked into the factory, slowly and leisurely, oozing with confidence. Everyone that saw him on his way to his office, greeted him, either in words or with their actions. It was a sight to behold for him. He remembered just less than forty eight hours ago, the words on the mouth of some of the people that greeted him. None of them had any good words for him, as they mostly castigated and insulted him, both on his behavior, and his eager attitude at work. Now, he was still in his usual work clothes, looking ragged and worn out, and still he was still being greeted by the people that passed him by. The only thing that was different now, was his status. Even though the fact that he was Juliet's sister, the heir to the throne of the Krafth’s was still not known, the fact that he was the manager of this factory, The Grammsville Breweries, was a very huge upgrade to where he was at before. Now, his workers saw him in a different light. Even thoug
Marcus had just sat down when the office intercom started blinking. It was Belle of course. What has happened, Marcus thought. She had just left his office. Whatever must have happened had definitely just happened and it must be urgent. Marcus pressed the button on the intercom and spoke, ”Yes Belle. What is it?” He asked. “Boss, there are people here to see you. They say they are from a magazine,” Belle said quietly into the phone in her hand. Belle was still trying to arrange the files on her table well, when she saw two people walk in. It was a man and woman. They did not look like people who walked in the factory, and they for sure did not look like people who came to the factory in search of jobs. Belle observed them as they walked up to her desk. She stood up to welcome them when they got in front of her desk. “Good morning. How may I help you?” Belle asked courteously. “Good morning,” the lady replied. “I am Miss Wuncler and this is m
“How close is your relationship with Miss Krafth?” Mr Riley suddenly asked. There was a flash of a sharp glint in his eyes. He quickly covered it up. What he didn't expect was that Marcus was a really sharp person. He had definitely started getting suspicious. The fact that these two came here from a magazine that mainly concentrated on young celebrities in the country, was just a little bit suspicious. But, Marcus was already starting to believe that was all there was to it. At least, that was until the question Mr Riley had just asked and until he caught that glint in his eyes. Marcus looked closely at Miss Wuncler to see if she was part of this, but it didn't seem like that. Miss Wuncler, it seemed, was fully engrossed in listening to everything Marcus said and writing it down. Mr Riley and Miss Wuncler actually worked at the Blaze Magazine. What was not known to Miss Wuncler, or anyone that worked for the magazine was that Mr Riley was planted i
Miss Wuncler had been staring at Marcus since she got inside. She was falling slowly for him, she knew. Everything about him seemed so good. Everything, except what he was wearing, she noticed. She wondered why someone at his level would be dressed like this. So, when her colleague, Mr Riley asked the question, she leaned forward in her seat. Miss Wuncler was quite interested in Marcus's reply to the question. Marcus sighed. On the ride to work this morning, he was actually thinking about this. It was just the abrupt call by his sister that took his mind off it. Now, the question had seemingly come back to haunt him. Marcus laughed. “My story has literally been a story of grass to grace, literally,” he started. “As you know, I just got this job the previous day. Before this, I worked in this factory, but I worked at the lowest level here”. “I could barely afford food and shelter, so clothing wasn't even high on my list,” he said. Mr Riley and M
Marcus walked into the building where his office was located in deep thought. Today was stressful, and quite eye-opening. He had observed his workers go about their respective jobs. Things had just seemed to change so fast for him. It was like a movie and he was happy about it. His only concerns now, however, was his identity being kept secret, and how to help his father, his family, bring down this long lasting enemy that had for the longest time tried to bring them down. Marcus kept thinking about his father. About how he must have gone through the amount of hard work and what else to get to the position he was at now. How he must have worked his ass off, with little to no help from anyone. Now that he, Marcus, had passed his test, he made a promise right there and then, on his way to his office to bring their enemy down. Another concern that kept playing out in his head was the issue with his wife. It didn't sit right with him. The way he was kee
Marcus, Luiz and Belle spent a long time in that almost unnoticeable room in the factory. They pored over the documents they had found and the things on the board in the room. It seemed like the factory his sister, Juliet had bought, had also been looked out for by the Oscorp corporation. In fact, it seemed like they were infinitely close to purchasing it right before Juliet did. With what they were seeing in the room, the corporation would have been a look out post for Oscorp, in investigating issues about the Krafth family in Edinburg. Of course, this was not the only reason Oscorp wanted the factory. The factory was looking like a good buy also. From their calculations, it seemed like the factory was on its way to be one of the largest in the country. This was the main reason why they decided to buy the factory. They had just been waiting for the stocks of the factory to go lower, then, they would have bought it cheaper. Unknown to them, Juliet h
Marcus paused in the middle of the road where he was walking. What was this dark SUV with tinted glasses looking for in front of his house, he thought. Was the Oscorp corporation doing their findings on his house and wife now. He hoped it was all fine though. Or was it, was it his wife again. Was Chantelle in the car with Richard Banks again. Were they about to get off and shatter his heart, he asked himself. It would be better, he thought, if it was the Oscorp corporation, rather than his wife in that care. All these thoughts passed through Marcus's head in a few seconds. With everything that had happened today already, this right now, felt like the most important thing that had happened to him today. It seemed like an eternity, but after a few seconds of waiting, the car zoomed off. The person inside seemed to have noticed Marcus at the back of the car, staring at the car. As the car raced off, Marcus heaved a sigh of relief. It seemed like hi
It was a series of explosions. Marcus and Belle could see bright sparks of fire light up the factory. There was no need to ask what had happened. The Oscorp corporation spies had launched a preemptive strike. Late yesterday evening, after closing hours, Dominic, Espinoza and Burn waited a while for their friend, Luiz, to come back from the inspection with their new boss, Marcus. They had all waited for over fifty minutes. When they saw that he was not coming, they decided to leave without him. Dominic, Espinoza and Burn proceeded to walk to the car park. They all walked there, entered their cars and made each other good night. They all drove off, one by one, with Burn up front and Dominic at the rear. Unknown to both Burn and Espinoza, Dominic had only driven for a while and lost both their cars and decided to turn back. Dominic did not in any way want to alert his friends to what he was doing in the factory. He had a secret meeting this evening and
