Chapter 31: Looking for Trouble

"Damn, Lucy, it's been so long. You look more beautiful than before. I'm so envious. You're doing so well now. I want to be like you," Evelyn yelled excitedly. But Lucy pushed her away, rather harshly.

"You will dirty my gown," she said simply and brought out a white handkerchief from her small bag to wipe her dress.

Her face showed annoyance at being hugged, and when she looked at Evelyn again, there was a slight disgust in her eyes.

Lucy's reaction made Evelyn stiffen, and her countenance turned rigid. She was unable to regain her composure for a while and stood still.

Ivan cursed Lucy inwardly when he saw how Evelyn became awkward because of what Lucy had done. He cleared his throat and spoke up. Evelyn was the one wearing white, so she was the one who was supposed to be in Lucy's position, avoiding hugs so that her gown wouldn't get dirty. He knew that Lucy was just looking for trouble.
