Chapter 43: Rejection

Ivan felt uncomfortable with the sticky gazes plastered on his body. He could feel Evelyn's anxious gaze on his face, causing him to break out into a cold sweat.

Rejecting her outright would invite criticism from the people in the bar who had been paying attention to them. There might even be someone who knows about his situation, and Lucy might expose everything.
