Soon after the enflamed magnificent sphere hid behind the horizon, a crescent shaped moon convoyed by an ocean of stars claimed the night, and an icy chilling breeze arrived soon after.
Within the city of Meden, precisely in a town situated in the heart of the dirty and dreadful area known as shantytown, there was an peculiar looking street accommodating a plethora of buildings aligned in a zigzag pattern. Those buildings were built without any consideration of the environmental hazards and health related impact it would create; it was solely built with the objective of making money. They buildings were poorly built, each of them looking like a ton of blocks stacked together with no planning whatsoever.Well there’s a reason it’s called the slums, I guess.Anyway, one of those half-baked apartment housed a caramel brown haired youth with pale white skin, and tugged in shabby clothes. And when I say pale white skin, I mean he looked unhealthy as hell! From his unkempt hair, worn out cloths, and let’s not forget where he lived, consisting of only two stools, a tumult of clothes stashed in a sack by the corner, a table ridiculed with scratches, a tube TV, and a mini fridge, which obvious was emptyIt wouldn’t take a genius to deduce how wretched he was.His comatose azure blue eyes were absorbed in a laptop a few inches away from him, and he looked like someone suffering from an ailment as his body lacked fat or rather, meat, making him look like a skeleton draped in skin.He buoyed his tall scruwny body on his right hand whilst gulping down a bottle of liquor with the other.Bottles upon bottles was all that could be seen as it congested the place, how he got the money for those, well, a mystery. There were some containers of noodles littered by the side too, but only one of those was eaten on that very dayWell, he probably never takes out the trash.
He sat on the floor and kept cussing, while the other stool besides him was flipped over, and crowded with clutters of bottles which previously held liquor.“Stupid idiots, you.... all!” He cussed, motioning with the bottle at the laptop. From his actions it was quite palpable he was drunk to stupor and needless to say, lost all form all reasonableness.“Tsk” he clicked his tongue, and assessed the content of the last bottle of liquor in his arsenal.-TankRealizing it was empty, he threw it to the corner of the room and stretched.Yearning in exhaustion, he wiped off the little tears his eyes had accumulated, then turned his gaze back to the glittering screen of the laptop
On a single glimpse his already pale and unhealthy complexion turned flushed red with anger as he lowered his brows in utter annoyance
After cussing and yelling like a mad man, he was satisfied and he staggered to standing
With sleepy vision and torpid limbs, he staggered to the miniature room by the side barely able to tell his left from his right.
-ClankWobbling forward half conscious, he bumped over a couple bottles on his way to the tiny room housing only his futon, with nothing but the sheer luck, he fell on the futon as his quivering limbs gave up on himRolling back and forth till comfort was achieved, he then permitted his heavy eyelids to descent, and plunged deep into the darkness beyond.
______________________________-Grururururururu“.......”“Ahhh! Ha.... Hik!”Alarmed by the abrupt jerk, I woke up with the intense gasp for air.It was all so quick, one instant it was all serene, the next, I was instantaneously sapped of oxygen.I struggled, dragging and wriggling, trying my best to breathBut the more I drew, the more it choked and squeezed out the little I had left.
Dangling in mid-air, a grasp of the severity of the situation dawned on me, but my body still couldn’t get over the sudden shock of it all.I looked down and caught sight of the tiny framed stool right underneath me, and from what I saw, I was at least ten feet from the groundThe situation was already so clear, but still, I couldn’t help but ask, how?
How did I get here? How was I now a few feet from the ground? The last thing I recollect was heading straight to bed, so how?How the heck! How the heck am hanged with a rope! from my very own ceiling which clearly has no ceiling fan!?Yes!No ceiling fan!
SO HOW!?!?!?In that instant, it further stiffened its hold around my neck and my eyes turned blood-shot with tears.“Help! ... Help!!” I squawked in high pitch, completely drained of oxygen. But yea, shouting was only a waste of oxygen, I mean there is no way anyone would help me.Why am I so sure?Well why wouldn’t I be, I mean the term ‘neighbor’ doesn’t exist in this part of the slums. And even if, even if someone heard my plea for help, am pretty sure they would wait it out and come in when am pretty much dead. Why?Well to get their filthy hands on my sack! That’s why!Darn it! I can already virtualize it, some crazy dude barging in here and nabbing my sack.Ah….. they might even steal the rest of my cloth from my corpse….Okay maybe not that extreme, I mean everyone in this slums may be an ass, but that doesn’t mean they don’t respect the dead. It’s 3:00 am
In reality who in their right mind would still be awake by this time of the night…... well, except…. Neets…. ME…… People in brothels….Okay scratch that last part, but you get the idea. And yes! Burglars! How could I forget those dudes? I mean aren’t the basically night crawlersAnd It’s also the auspicious time too; 3:00am, the perfect time to burgleHow do I know this?
Well, ahem…..
Anyway, I guess this marks my endArgh!
And let’s not forget this being THE most infuriating and awkward way to die too.
I mean I can’t even tell how I got here in the first place, was it the influence of the alcohol or just my true intent taking center stage.Well, at least my death will remain a paradox to everyone.…….
In no less than a minute, I couldn’t feel my lower body anymore.I tried significantly as I could to at the very least hold onto my cognizance, but even that much posed a difficult feat.I have heard a great deal of death by hanging, so much so that I regarded it as an easy way to die, but being in the predicament myself, I can now attest just how painful it is, from the sharp piercing and crippling pain round my neck every time I opted for air, to the numbness and cold chilling from both arms and legs, it was nothing short of dreadful. Was it a dream?Nope, it sure as hell wasn’t.
The pain, the slow eating away of my sentience, and the bloodcurdling feeling of death approaching slowly, with this much, am pretty sure it’s real. That only meant one thing, this is the end, the freaking end!So much thoughts ran wild in my head, was I going to die without exacting my revenge?Yea, just nice.I achieved nothing in this life, and my family who were murdered didn’t even get justice they deserve.*Sighs*Wa, wait! What da heck!
*Sigh*Seems like my death won’t be an enigma to any one after all, there goes my compensation.
Why the sudden flare-up?Well simple, my laptop is still freaking on!Yea, that’s right. It’s still fully on beaming with light, and let’s not forget, my web-novel account, which by the way, IS STILL ON AND ACCEPTING NOTIFICATIONS!I mean what would those god-damn ‘neighbors’ say if they saw this.I bet it would appear on a ton of news channels and a bunch of talk shows that some crazy dude killed himself over something as trifle as hate comments!Bu, but that wasn’t my true intension, I never wanted to die, and I still don’t want to die.I mean would I go to hell. After all, I’m pretty sure I was a bad boy while alive. As melancholic thoughts and the intense pain claimed my mind, warm bead like tears forming on my eyelids, and trickled down my chic all the way to my chin. And though discomforting, I was too feeble to wipe it off.Life was never in my favor, and I always blamed fate for all my misfortunes, always have, always will.I literally have no family, friends or end a loved one.Well am just a broke ass twenty-three years old drop out, owing an absurd amount of money.Yea, it was really a pathetic life, a frustrating monotonic life. if I were to die now and end up in heaven, which I highly doubtI would find fate and give whoever it is a good piece of my mind.
With the sad thoughts claiming my mind like a dam blown open, I steeled my mind, and close my eyes in anticipation of what was to come.________________________Instead of consciousness dwindling into the darkness, the crippling pain only got worst. What!I’m not dead yet. Why!
Ahh!God dammit it hurts!!!
I tired shaking off the pain by dwelling on melancholic thoughts, but I couldn’t, In the end I just had to blame someonesomeoneanyone
I had to get my mind off the heart-wrenching pain by building up unparallel hate on someone’s head.Yes! Finally, a sense of calmness came to me as I found a culprit to pin the blame on.How could I forget that fucking bastard, if only he and his idiot bunch of friends didn’t mock my work of art, I wouldn’t have ended up in such a dire situation.Yes!it’s entirely his fault!
I mean what were they even criticizing on it to begin with?I mean the settings were seamless and impeccable, the only problem were the numerous cliché scenes. And yes, the usual concept of an OP protagonist, saving the world with a large harem of beauties.Huh?*Sighs*Okay, I guess it was a cliché after all.
If I knew things were going to turn out this way, I would have gone with my past idea of a psychopath protagonist who NTR’s the main protagonist harem.I mean that’s the trending genre after all, right, Right?Yea! and maybe…. Maybe I would have spice things up with a bunch of those yandere stuff.*Sighs*Now I have so many regrets.
Just great
Ah!I-I think it’s starting to set in.my cognizance and vision slowly but painfully went dark, and my sight was blinded by the darkest shade of black. In an instant, it happened, I…… was dead. After a week, Zach miller’s corpse was found in his apartment after numerous complaints of a horrendous stench emanating from his room. And the strangest thing was, someone already stole his sack before then, not even sparing his corpse the cloths it rightfully wore.So yea, he was found stark-naked.<>“Wuaaaahh!” I yelled, springing up to a sitting posture.“Where in the world am I? …. I died, right” I muttered, tossing and turning. With every survey, my eyes met over grown trees and sharp green blades dancing in resonance with the wind.‘is this……. Heaven’That was the next thought that came to my mind. The whole atmosphere was serene and it brought me a strange sense of tranquility which was almost baffling, coupled with the bright yet tender ray of the sun, the scenery was picturesque.I was happy about being in heaven, but suddenly, the scene of my death hit me. And the calm feeling was replaced with that of dread, I mean even if this is heaven, I still just experienced death, and it wasn’t a pleasant experience in any sense.“Huh? Wait, What the heck……!” I blurted out, staring at my hand in utter incredulousness.I had pale waxen skin; smooth and spotless. For a fact, this was awfully weirdbut I can’t help but admire these hands, it’s just so….. spotless.
This wasn’t my hand; I mean mine were a whole lot tanned from sun burn, and nowhere near smooth, not to talk of spotless.Or perhaps, this was just how things are in heaven.[COMMENCING HARNS REFORMATION AND DATA ASSIMILATION…]A blue translucent screen suddenly surfaced before me.“Huh?”[PROGRESS 10%]“No, NO FREAKING WAY!”[PROGRESS 30%][PROGRESS 40%][PROGRESS 50%]....[PROGRESS 99%][ASSIMILATION COMPLETE][COMMENCING SYNCHRONISATION][SYNCING 10%][SYNCING 20%][SYNCING 30%][SYNCING 40%][SYNCING 50%]“Oh shit, I think am getting a SYSTEM!!!” I yelled, lost in exhilaration.I mean who wouldn’t be excited.I somehow ended up in heaven even after committing all those crimes, like who would have thought, right? And not just that, am getting one of those system I always read in novels. This is just so intense!Hahaha! This going to be exciting!

But then, just when I was about getting up, my mind blanked out on hearing the raging sound of something headed my way.And not just that, the sound was accompanied by a tumor whose intensity only kept increasing by the minute. Something was coming.I knew that for a factBut I didn’t want to find out whatI got up and without even giving a look at my bruised and battered body, I scampered off towards the adjacent direction of the source-sound.-GUDUUUUM!!!The earth kept quaking as trees which were launched out of the ground, came back down with raging speed, causing deep craters to be formed.I couldn’t really make out what had such brute strength, and yes, I didn’t want to find out, either. After running for only about an hour, I felt like a planet was placed on my shoulder, and the realization dawned on me, there was no was no way in hell I would be out-running such monstrosity with my feeble physical abilities, it was purely impossible, so I opted to for something else, with sheer luck and the help of a huge tree I spotted, I was able to hide and let it pass by.Surprisingly, it did pass by.I didn’t see get to see what it was, but at least it didn’t see me too.Leaping down from the tree, I was suddenly assaulted by an intense pain from my cranium.“Mmuuuuummm!!!”The pain was so intense that I had to bite down my wrist to muffle down the scream. After a brief horrendous minute, it subsided and I was able to exhale in relief.[SYNCRONISATION COMPLETE][=======STATUS=======]Suddenly, a blue translucent screen surfaced once more.“Huh, no way, this can’t be”[ _______________________________-----SUPREME SURVIVAL SYSTEM------======= STATUS======Name -------> Sam Rondel [Image]Power Level --------> Iron [Level 1]Strength --------> 20/ 1000Intelligence--------> 500/ 1000Looks --------> 500/1000Endurance --------> 30/1000Vitality --------> I/R (Influenced by power level)Mana --------> NilAbility ---------> NilSkill --------> Processing….Attribute --------> LightAffinity --------> LightningItem -------->Nil _______________________________ ]Shinning with blue light, the words brought more confusion and fear rather than relief. This can’t be possible……. Finally, thanks for reading this authors’ Babbling, and please, if you like the story, comment]As a jolt of raw energy crackled through his veins, Leo's eyes snapped open, wide with shock and disorientation. He found himself sitting upright, his gaze flitting around the opulent bedroom, each unfamiliar detail prickling his senses with disquiet. A nagging unease, like a forgotten melody on the tip of his tongue, hummed beneath the surface."Mel?" he rasped, reaching out into the echoing silence.Only the ghostly whisper of his own voice answered."Guid..." he started, but another voice, sharp and laced with annoyance, cut him off."Don't! Not that name," it snapped, her tone daring him.Ignoring the sharp rebuke, curiosity warred with apprehension within Leo. "What's happening? Why am I not flat on my face?" he demanded, his voice laced with urgency and a hint of fear.A pause, then a reply tinged with frustration, "Honestly, I don't know. I more focused on the memory integration, and fixing some potentially lethal glitches, so your physical state slipped my mind.""Potentially
Words alone fail to capture the sheer grandeur of the mansion. It wasn't just a building; it was a living testament to extravagance, a symphony of opulence that commanded attention with every gilded detail. The sprawling estate, a marvel of manicured gardens framing its imposing facade, whispered tales of wealth and power. In the distance, the arena, a coliseum where knights clashed in monthly spectacles of valor, echoed with thunderous cheers.Butlers and maids, their movements precise and practiced, flitted like silent shadows, attending to their duties with unwavering dedication. The setting sun, a blaze of fiery hues, cast a radiant glow upon the scene, as if bidding farewell to another day in paradise.Leo and Anna, the maid, disembarked from the carriage, their footsteps echoing against the cobblestones as they approached the mansion's entrance. Awaiting them was another maid, her practiced smile guiding them towards the dining room with an efficiency that bordered on the uncan
