Chapter 44

The next morning, a pair of intertwined legs were visible beneath a thick blanket. Both of them seemed deeply asleep, exhausted from the battle the night before. Their clothes lay scattered on the floor, and some of Gibson's furniture had been moved from its original place.

The sun began to rise slowly, with the melodious chirping of birds waking someone from their slumber. The sweet sound of the birds seemed quite nearby. The balcony door, left ajar, allowed the lively chirping to resonate clearly.

The balcony floor appeared wet due to the rain that had fallen overnight. The curtains covering the balcony windows couldn't escape the splashes from the rather heavy rain. It was still quite a challenge for the pair to get up after their eventful night.
