Mon’Ter walked alongside Spiritus Finis and king Agathon as they made their way towards the room connecting the Nature’s Keep with Mora’s realm of white. Along the hallway, Agathon did not forget to tell his servants about his plan of a grand feast in the nightly evening, he told them to make sure there would be lots of amazing food whenever they decided to return here. Once the servants boasted of how amazing the food would be tonight, Mon’Ter felt like he may very well go back on his word about skipping dinner.

‘You know, food does sound like a good thing to have tonight,’ the chimera thought with a finger on his chin, his drool slightly running. ‘Yeah, food would be good, I regret my earlier blunders and revoke them completely!’ he weirdly raised a hand as if making a victory pose, which shocked the servants and surprised the two people he’d been following. Mon’Ter didn’t mind, he simply thought more about t

Mon’Ter exited Mora’s realm together with Agathon after having accomplished his two goals. One obviously being the sap from the sacred tree and, as for the other, asking whether or not Mora knew how to unlock more of his untapped potential. Sadly for Mon’Ter, that answer wasn’t at all satisfactory and merely left him with more questions than answers. He was however excited to go meet up with his friends again, and even more excited to go back on his word. The silver lining, if you will. As they kept on strolling through the hallways of the Nature’s keep, Mon’Ter suddenly decided to turn to the elven king with a quizzical expression. “Oh, oh, king Agathon,” he spoke with a smile, quite obviously over excited about something. “Namir mentioned elven cuisine before! What types of foods do you have?” and quite obviously, that something was food. “Ah, well, the traditional elven cuisine mostly comprises a mixture of nature’s finest resources. Whether that b

“A mercy kill?!” Mon’Ter shouted at the king with a scowl. “So you just killed them?!” “I did, yes,” Agathon turned back to Mon’Ter to show his conviction, he’d furrowed his brows and wrinkled his brow. “I do not regret that decision, no matter how much I wish there was another way out of it!” the king grit his teeth hard, sharply in taking another breath before speaking again. “The sad truth is simply that there wasn’t. You are either able to overcome this addiction to magic power or you cannot! There are no in betweens when it comes to this, Mon’Ter!” The chimera clicked his tongue and marched to the wall on the side; he raised his fist and punched through it in rage as he roared. “DAMN IT!” his fist caused the wall to collapse and dust to flow into the air, more than a dozen rooms got destroyed in the process of the shock wave which ensued from his fist’s velocity. “Don’t cause such a ruckus now, Mon’Ter,” Agathon said as he weaved his finger with fast mov

Once the sun came up, Mon’Ter finally took his eyes off of Elyenora and looked at the impending light, softly gracing their skin and reaching for their eyes. “Finally morning,” he mumbled softly with a stagnant breathing, his gaze slightly narrowed and convicted for what is to come. “I wonder if King Agathon is ready with his teleportation thingy yet or not.” Mon’Ter moved his gaze to Sereia, who half napped, half just stood awake and recuperated. Hopefully, it would be enough to walk. He mumbled to her as he stood up. “He’d better.” “Yeah, definitely would better have,” Sereia groaned, doing her best to lift herself up from bed. “Ugh… I can somewhat move now at least, damn, I hate using the water Avatar state… And to do it twice in a row is just… Urgh…” “Could have been worse,” Mon’Ter concentrated on his left side, he placed his eyes on the stump and slowly caused a surge through his bloodstream. Within seconds, a second arm grew in place of his emp

After the teleportation process finished, the two still moving party members found themselves deafened and blinded by the execution of the magic and general transportation. Paired with the bright sky, it was a killer combo. Mon’Ter and Sereia both had to squint their eyes a few times to adjust as the sudden light from the sun had simply blinded them almost completely.“Ugh… This is too much light,” Sereia placed a hand over her eyes to try to adjust her vision more appropriately, albeit, it didn’t quite seem to work like she’d like it to.“Damn… Why is it so bright…” Mon’Ter, too, grumbled, but as his eyes finally adjusted, he gasped out in pure shock. “Wha-”There was a grand flame burning in the city center, multiple piles so tall they reached up to the roofs of buildings and so numerous they covered the entire view. At the base of some, he could see people scattering and scurryin

Leonidas Le’crysta Benulis, had finally, recovered. ‘So, that’s Ely and Sam’s grandpa,’ Mon’Ter thought as he watched the old man get out of his bed. Randus removed the barrier around the two of them and allowed Leonidas to walk out, now without issue and with relative ease, aside from the pains he felt from laying down for so long. “Damn it…” he rubbed the back of his neck, cracking and adjusting it as he did. After closing off one eye and grating his teeth in annoyance, Leonidas asked. “How long have I been out for?” he stretched his arms upward. “And what has been happening while I have been asleep?” “A lot,” Randus clicked with his tongue. “You slept for over a month by now, and it’s only been getting worse since. I’ve more than confirmed the dragon cult’s involvement by now. “What?! The dragon cultists have returned?!” Leonidas turned to the mage with widened eyes. “They have, it is quite obvious,” Randus nodded with a grimace. “Not only

The two old men began to plan their next actions together with Mon’Ter. With a clear sight for their next target, they would have to do whatever it took to assist Elyenora and Samuel. Randus came up with a way to do things, he would send Mon’Ter and Leonidas together through a long distance teleportation gate of his own, and he would remain here in Weylorn. By now, more than half the populace had succumbed to the curse. The survivors were quarantined, of course, but that didn’t do much in terms of bringing them peace of mind. After Randus began to succumb to the curse himself, the citizens no longer had a leader to turn to, and that devolved them into a sort of mindless mob lurking around the corners and straying far from people with the aim of survival. Seeing the bodies of your loved ones fall one after the other to an unknown sickness after a dragon attack will do that to people, and because of that, Weylorn had grown lawless. Now, with Randus awake and healthy again, how

Once Mon’Ter and Leonidas came through the gateway, they found themselves within an interesting environment. “Whoa!” Mon’Ter wowed as he looked at the scenery, a marble floor reached far and wide for as far as he could see, floating stairs going up to platforms in the air and large tables for robed men and women alike to sit together and discuss their affairs atop them. The roof looked to be a painted depiction of a magician walking towards the most colossal book in existence, it was supposed to be the knowledge of a lifetime that each mage strives to reach shown in artistic form. On one of the far off walls, there were multiple white doors with crystal knobs, each one had a name written atop it to mark whatever city it led to and its specific guild building. “Hm?” One of the older mages noticed the sudden visitors. “Sir Leonidas!” he shouted, gaining the attention of the majority of mages in the space. “You’re back on your feet?!” “Hello, Moses,” Leonidas wa

Eventually, Leonidas led Mon’Ter right to the base of the temple stairs, at which of course were stationed multiple knights of the holy order that stood guard.“Halt!” the holy knight placed a hand before Leonidas. “State your name and reason for going towards the Temple of Goddess Elene.”The old knight sighed at the youthful man, in truth he found it a tad amusing, considering he could see one of the other holy knights cringe back at the sight of his junior. That one obviously knew it was Leonidas, but he remained silent, and so the elderly hero of the kingdom played along normally. “Leonidas, Le’Crysta, Benulis,” he said slowly, trying to emphasize his name to the lad.“Wha-” the young knight gulped upon hearing the name.“Reason for coming is to seek aid in Princess Elyenora’s recovery,” Leonidas said, then shoved past the soldier with his shoulder. “Now move aside you

Just as Mon’Ter was busy rotting on the inside, Samuel and Sereia were finally able to get back on their feet. Samuel could now see properly and move around, and Sereia had drunk a high grade healing potion that brought her back up to speed. “Agh… My back was killing me there…” Sereia said as she stretched, trying to get herself back into shape. “Do I even need to mention my head…?” Samuel held it, he still felt like it would start spinning again but thankfully it was over. “We really need to go and help Mon’Ter out,” Sereia mumbled out loud. “It seems like he got two of them but he’s facing that guy that my dad said was the best assassin in the world…” Still, they were a bit far away from the chimera and couldn’t assist him right away, especially since Mon’Ter’s fear came true. “It seems like we have our own troubles to deal with first…” Samuel pointed out as he gazed at the sky above them. “Huh? As Mon’Ter stood in a confrontation between himself and the three assassins, Sereia and Samuel did their best to catch their bearings and get to assisting him rather than being a burden for him. Thankfully, Samuel had some recovery potions on him, but due to his issue with coordination caused by Hendrick’s eye ability, he couldn’t move his arms in the right direction much less find where he’d stored the bottles. And as for Sereia, she actually did try to get to Samuel and find the potions for him, but, given how wounded her back really was she was having some difficulty pushing herself to stand back up and move towards his bag. Of course, this would only take her seconds to do in real time, maybe ten or twenty, but in the moments of combat those seconds would be more than enough for her and him to lose their lives at once many times over. They were dealing with assassins after all, and while these assassins were definitely slowed down from the g

Just as Elyenora was dealing with Alinesia with the help of Randus’ Gravity Zone spell, so were Sereia and Samuel working on using the spell to their advantage too. Seeing as they were able to outmaneuver their respective match ups and bring down two specters, they had now managed to get away from the other two old men who’d targeted them and made their way towards where Mon’Ter was being held down by Alinesia’s parents. That, of course, didn’t take long at all with the help of Samuel’s teleportation magic.Sereia quickly landed right over the female assassin with super long nails, Allison, while Samuel waltzed right into her husband, Hendrick, and swung straight at his arms that were holding Mon’Ter’s head up close to his eye level. On Sereia’s end, things were quickly and easily dispatched. Having had the jump on the opponent she was able to instantly get Allison to dodge her first blow and leave Mon’

    Chapter 202: Randus' Gravity Zone

With Alinesia’s light blinding everyone, Randus was able to easily move about by practicing a simple spell to allow his eyes to perceive past the blinding shine of her. He had basically created pseudo shades on his face which he used to escape from Lerroy’s immediate reach.During the course of the battle so far, the two of them had been flying high up in the air and blasting each other with all manner of magical spells, it had gotten to the point that most of the soldiers down below were getting nervous just by standing underneath them. However, Randus hadn’t just been mindlessly flying about and chucking explosions at his old master, no, of course not, he wouldn’t be where he is at today if he did something so basic. The whole time they were moving around the air space, Randus had been leaving small sigils in specific locations high above the ground and laying out a layer filled circle of magic large enough to encompass most of the existing su

Alinesia had completed her transformation, however, she wasn’t the only one making moves during that last minute of action. There were still many people on the battlefield, and the ones who made the biggest change aside from her, were definitely Randus, Samuel and Sereia who all made good use of the previous minute or so of time.On their side of the field, just as Elyenora and Alinesia were having their clash of wills, Samuel and Sereia both found themselves pushing against their respective spectral opponents. It had gotten to the point where they were chasing after these Low ranking Arch Lord Class entities as if they were hunting rabbits. It was at this time that both Gandar, the court mage of the Royal palace and the elderly master of the assassin’s guild intervened on their little chase. Gandar shot through the sky atop a conjuration of wind and flew near enough to be within his range of Samuel, he weaved his staff and made a spiraling motion with it b

Cazimir fell, cut in half and in a completely stupefied state. Someone meant to have been on his side, an ally, had just taken him down. His bloodied eyes shone with a bright light and created shadow soldiers that tried to hold him back together, barely, even as his own blood and organs left his body to splatter down on the ground. “W–wh–y…?” Cazimir asked as only one of his eyes barely managed to move and look at Finn. “Because you interfered where it was not your place, stupid assassin,” Finn said, his eyes wider than an open door and staring the vampire down with intense pressure behind his every word. “Couldn’t you follow simple instructions? I told you. Don’t interfere with my fight. Leonidas is mine to do battle with.” “Bast–ard…” Cazimir barely mumbled out, and with another glow of his eyes he forced the soldiers to move him about ten meters away from the now enemy. With yet another glow, he summoned out a potion that fell from a litt

Do you even know what my brother is trying to do!? It’s all foolish! Why would you work for him? You’re smarter than that!” Elyenora tried to change her mind if she could, though, it didn’t seem like Alinesia was here for money or anything of the sort by the look on her face.“You think I’m here just because that prince twat brother of yours asked t

Another knight? Not with that get up you’re not. Perhaps a mage? Shall I teach you some proper manners in speech?”“I’d actually like that,” Mon’Ter said truthfully. “But it’s not the time to be learning manners.”His hand extended and his fingers grew as his nails elongated into sharp swords capable of piercing the thickest of hides and slashing the hardest of steels. The strange development caused many to put their guard
