Mon'Ter and Leonidas stood in the midst of a void once more, their feet touching the shiny path of starry lights whilst the distance kept shimmering with bubbles of memories. The battle of the tournament had ended, and Mon'Ter had found out new things about his to be enemy.

"So, that's what he's capable of?" Mon'Ter mused with his hand reaching up to his chin. "Not particularly impressive, I'll be honest."

"You think?" Leonidas chuckled. "That was three years ago, he's already in Lord Class, same with Sereia, and his little army of specters has undoubtedly grown both in number and in overall strength."

"I know," Mon'Ter mumbled, "but I can't see him being nearly as strong as Finis was, we barely won against him in a six versus one."

"Finis?" Leonidas mumbled out. "Whom might that be?"

"He was the corrupted son of the world spirit, also the reason Ely and Sam became like that. We more or less had to get one of our party members to use his forbidden

In the sudden quiet environment, things had become a little awkward. No one really took the initiative to speak up, and so passed a good five or so seconds before...Chomp.Elyenora took a cookie."Wow, you three should try these! They're delish!" the girl spoke in a bubbly manner, causing Sereia to chuckle and take on for herself. She couldn’t be left out after seeing her happy expression, now could she? Nope, not a lover of sweets like her."Well, don't mind if I do," she took a cookie, chomped on it like the princess had, and found herself incapable of not putting her other hand on her cheek whilst exclaiming. "My! These truly are delicious!""Right?!" Elyenora said excitedly as she acted all giddy about it."Please tell me who made them! I need to get the recipe for my own abode back in Weylorn!" Sereia grinned at the princess happily."Of course! I'll ask the chef later, for now just enjoy yourself okay?" Elyenora pushed th

The expanse of the void, closed in on our two fellows yet again. Mon'Ter and Leonidas just finished watching the previous memory, and said memory had made one of them rather conflicted."Say..." Mon'Ter spoke, realizing he hadn't referred to the man in any way quite yet. "Sir Leonidas?" he blurted whatever felt right out, and turned to the old man."Just call me Leonidas, or Leon even," the elder shrugged his shoulders, "don't bother me with honorifics at this point, you can do that once we're in a royal court or in a public setting. Here, it doesn’t matter.""Okay, Leon it is then," Mon'Ter continued. "Is Aydian really the big bad in all of this?" he pushed his gaze down. "Honestly he didn’t look evil at all… Seeing that memory just now, while he was a pile of grumbling and annoyance, he seemed to be on good terms with everyone…"Leonidas sighed at that remark. "Aye... That he was..." he then continued with an upright attitude.

Not long after arriving back to the void of memories, Mon'Ter and Leonidas did another short walk till they entered the next memory. Really, it was rather close. Even closer than the ones that took place hours or even minutes after the previous ones. Perhaps, it was a memory that happened at the same time as Samuel's entrance to the academy.Perhaps, that idea wasn't too far off.The scenery manifested itself anew, though; it wasn't at the academy like the duo had expected it to be, no, they were back in the city of Banul. Far from Grevil city and its school of magics. Now, before them stood a very specific hallway within the royal castle of the capital, one that went along the farther reaches of the keep, and Leonidas instantly recognized it."Oh my, we're back at the capital this soon? But why are we at the royal blacksmithy's hallway..." he mumbled to himself, half musing half narrowing his eyes."Royal blacksmithy?" Mon'Ter quizzed, wondering what the

The two memory voyeurs watched as the dwarf went to some of his nearby chests, they were all filled to the brim with different bars of metal, each ranging in density, strength and magical properties. Certainly, he had it all from simple iron to legendary adamantium here."So, what is it that you'd like to have made?" Korgen said, his fingers running across a bar of mithril as he did. The voice which reached the princess’ ears sent shivers down her spine."You'll really make me a magical blade, right? Dwarven crafted techniques and all?" she grinned widely, nodding her head whilst tightening her cupped hands and their grip. She did it almost as if trying to affirm it by herself."Hahahaha! You're an excited lil buggah, ain'tcha?" Korgen laughed out loud, placing his hands on his hips as he shook up and down in laughter. "I'll have ya know, this next item I'll be making for ya ain't no slouched one like the previous toys you requested! No, no, princess, I'll

Mon'Ter and Leonidas roamed further amidst the memories, wondering what the next one might be."Maybe we'll see them working in the midst of it? Or how the sword was completed?" Mon'Ter mused whilst walking along the path of flickering lights. "Could be something else too, maybe the first time Ely got to use it?""Nah," Leonidas shook his head, "considering we skipped over Sammy, I'm willing to bet we'll go back to his point of view for the next memory," he spoke with certainty, though he didn't particularly care about these memories as much as he did of the ones which involved himself and those two. Those were the best to reminisce with."Hmmm, let's see then," Mon'Ter nodded and they reached the following memory, a not too hard endeavor considering they're barely moved since the previous one.Slowly, the scenery revealed itself anew. It was a grand hallway leading further into a glamourous building, the size of the hallway alone was huge, and at the end

“Director Gandar Livian is waiting for you inside, he’s also doing some paperwork but please don’t inquire about it,” Joline said as she pointed to the door.“I will be mindful of that,” Samuel smiled her way, then walked up the door, knocking thrice until he heard a voice from within.“Come in,” Gandar said, sounding busy just from the tone of voice he emitted. It sounded annoyed, tired.“Excuse me,” Samuel replied, opening the tall door and moving on inside. The person that greeted him from within was a rather old fellow, too old, honestly. He had a wrinkly face that practically hid his eyes, and a beard so long it was practically a wool woven sheath covering his frame. Almost like a mask, even.“Who’s that guy?” Mon’Ter thought he would ask Leonidas.“Ah… Right, that cranky old idiot,” Leonidas sighed. “Well, here he’s the director

"So, I guess I've seen one of our to be enemies?" Mon'Ter mused, tilting his head at Leonidas."More or less," the elderly knight nodded at him."But he seemed so nice though..." Mon'Ter argued. “I dunno, I feel conflicted seeing my friends being friendly with people they now consider as the enemy.”"In situations like this, character is often unimportant. What matters is the side you stand by," Leonidas shook his head.“But that’s just sad…” Mon’Ter felt his chin lower. “What I’m getting from this is that all that has been going on is friendships getting ruined…”"It's a sad truth, but we all fight for what we believe in, even if it is in complete opposition to another person's beliefs," Leonidas hoped to explain.“I don’t like that, I don’t like that at all,” Mon’Ter crossed his arms.“The world doesn’t care about your opini

"Well," Mon'Ter began. "The short man certainly gives good advice if anything, that's for sure.""Korgen is wise when he tries," Leonidas shrugged. "That daft idiot knows more than anyone about being arrogant and where that can get you, certainly, I mean the short ass is arrogant on his own. Remember the sign above his door? Can't say I know a more prideful guy than that one.""Yeah, definitely a tad arrogant I'd say," Mon'Ter nodded whilst he smiled slightly. "But, it did seem like Ely liked him.""Of course she likes em," Leonidas crossed his arms whilst speaking. "He's single handedly been responsible for spoiling both of Elduin's kids! Elyenora and Aydian both spent loads of time with the dwarf... I'm honestly jealous! He was with them on both of their first times of drinking alcohol! He bloody initiated it for them! Just as Mon’Ter was busy rotting on the inside, Samuel and Sereia were finally able to get back on their feet. Samuel could now see properly and move around, and Sereia had drunk a high grade healing potion that brought her back up to speed. “Agh… My back was killing me there…” Sereia said as she stretched, trying to get herself back into shape. “Do I even need to mention my head…?” Samuel held it, he still felt like it would start spinning again but thankfully it was over. “We really need to go and help Mon’Ter out,” Sereia mumbled out loud. “It seems like he got two of them but he’s facing that guy that my dad said was the best assassin in the world…” Still, they were a bit far away from the chimera and couldn’t assist him right away, especially since Mon’Ter’s fear came true. “It seems like we have our own troubles to deal with first…” Samuel pointed out as he gazed at the sky above them. “Huh? That guy again?” Sereia said in annoya

As Mon’Ter stood in a confrontation between himself and the three assassins, Sereia and Samuel did their best to catch their bearings and get to assisting him rather than being a burden for him. Thankfully, Samuel had some recovery potions on him, but due to his issue with coordination caused by Hendrick’s eye ability, he couldn’t move his arms in the right direction much less find where he’d stored the bottles. And as for Sereia, she actually did try to get to Samuel and find the potions for him, but, given how wounded her back really was she was having some difficulty pushing herself to stand back up and move towards his bag. Of course, this would only take her seconds to do in real time, maybe ten or twenty, but in the moments of combat those seconds would be more than enough for her and him to lose their lives at once many times over. They were dealing with assassins after all, and while these assassins were definitely slowed down from the g

Chapter 203: Mon'Ter back in action

Just as Elyenora was dealing with Alinesia with the help of Randus’ Gravity Zone spell, so were Sereia and Samuel working on using the spell to their advantage too. Seeing as they were able to outmaneuver their respective match ups and bring down two specters, they had now managed to get away from the other two old men who’d targeted them and made their way towards where Mon’Ter was being held down by Alinesia’s parents. That, of course, didn’t take long at all with the help of Samuel’s teleportation magic.Sereia quickly landed right over the female assassin with super long nails, Allison, while Samuel waltzed right into her husband, Hendrick, and swung straight at his arms that were holding Mon’Ter’s head up close to his eye level. On Sereia’s end, things were quickly and easily dispatched. Having had the jump on the opponent she was able to instantly get Allison to dodge her first blow and leave Mon’

    Chapter 202: Randus' Gravity Zone

With Alinesia’s light blinding everyone, Randus was able to easily move about by practicing a simple spell to allow his eyes to perceive past the blinding shine of her. He had basically created pseudo shades on his face which he used to escape from Lerroy’s immediate reach.During the course of the battle so far, the two of them had been flying high up in the air and blasting each other with all manner of magical spells, it had gotten to the point that most of the soldiers down below were getting nervous just by standing underneath them. However, Randus hadn’t just been mindlessly flying about and chucking explosions at his old master, no, of course not, he wouldn’t be where he is at today if he did something so basic. The whole time they were moving around the air space, Randus had been leaving small sigils in specific locations high above the ground and laying out a layer filled circle of magic large enough to encompass most of the existing su

Alinesia had completed her transformation, however, she wasn’t the only one making moves during that last minute of action. There were still many people on the battlefield, and the ones who made the biggest change aside from her, were definitely Randus, Samuel and Sereia who all made good use of the previous minute or so of time.On their side of the field, just as Elyenora and Alinesia were having their clash of wills, Samuel and Sereia both found themselves pushing against their respective spectral opponents. It had gotten to the point where they were chasing after these Low ranking Arch Lord Class entities as if they were hunting rabbits. It was at this time that both Gandar, the court mage of the Royal palace and the elderly master of the assassin’s guild intervened on their little chase. Gandar shot through the sky atop a conjuration of wind and flew near enough to be within his range of Samuel, he weaved his staff and made a spiraling motion with it b

Chapter 199: For how long with the balance of the two forces stay?

Cazimir fell, cut in half and in a completely stupefied state. Someone meant to have been on his side, an ally, had just taken him down. His bloodied eyes shone with a bright light and created shadow soldiers that tried to hold him back together, barely, even as his own blood and organs left his body to splatter down on the ground. “W–wh–y…?” Cazimir asked as only one of his eyes barely managed to move and look at Finn. “Because you interfered where it was not your place, stupid assassin,” Finn said, his eyes wider than an open door and staring the vampire down with intense pressure behind his every word. “Couldn’t you follow simple instructions? I told you. Don’t interfere with my fight. Leonidas is mine to do battle with.” “Bast–ard…” Cazimir barely mumbled out, and with another glow of his eyes he forced the soldiers to move him about ten meters away from the now enemy. With yet another glow, he summoned out a potion that fell from a litt

Do you even know what my brother is trying to do!? It’s all foolish! Why would you work for him? You’re smarter than that!” Elyenora tried to change her mind if she could, though, it didn’t seem like Alinesia was here for money or anything of the sort by the look on her face.“You think I’m here just because that prince twat brother of yours asked t

Another knight? Not with that get up you’re not. Perhaps a mage? Shall I teach you some proper manners in speech?”“I’d actually like that,” Mon’Ter said truthfully. “But it’s not the time to be learning manners.”His hand extended and his fingers grew as his nails elongated into sharp swords capable of piercing the thickest of hides and slashing the hardest of steels.
