The air surrounding Leonidas began to change, and the glow which emanated from his pupils began to soar in luminosity, it started creating a flaring aura that came out of every pore in his body. The old man grinned gleefully, his grip tightened even more than before, and he could even feel his muscles bulge from underneath his armor.
“Let’s get to it, Mon’Ter! I'll force the one of Elyenora away, you can go all out with Samuel's shadow entity!” Leonidas roared as his legs launched him from the dark nothingness of the realms of memories, straight towards Elyenora’s shadow with the intent of killing it.
He did not go for a conventional attack, no, instead as he flew towards it with sound shattering speed, he turned his body horizontally and began spinning like a top with his arms outstretched, the scimitars in his hands turned him into a cyclone that would butcher anything in his path.
And as the first blade nearly reached its target,
“Wh–What?!” Leonidas bellowed from the far reaches of the branching gold path. Even from that distance, he could see that Mon’Ter must be dead. The shadow entity had torn his arms off, half of the lower part of his torso was also missing and there was only a gaping hole in its place. Even his wings were only at half length at best. And as mentioned before, his face was more or less gone, with only half of his head still there.“Kid!” Leonidas’ eyes shone with a bright hue, he forced out the aura and vigor to once more surround him even if his body couldn’t quite take the pressure and exertion these eyes of his caused. Still, as his skin burned through the pores, he bit his lip and held out through the searing pain. The old knight grasped both his scimitars as tightly as his fingers could latch on, his legs stomped onto the paths and he bolted straight towards the seemingly dead chimera. Within a fraction of a secon
A few moments after their discussion concluded, Mon’Ter screamed out at the top of his lungs. “Dash!”The two of them instantly ran in the direction they were facing, and in that same moment, an insufferable amount of energy landed on the location they’d been in the second prior. Samuel’s shadow entity flew right above them, watching with its abyssal gaze whilst they scurried away from the attack. As Mon’Ter evaded the blast, he found himself sensing another strong sensation of danger shaking his very core up. And in that moment, the entity appeared before him with its hand slightly raised to its chest. Hoving above its palm, in that split second, he could see a tiny sword shaped figure of light. The entity sent that sword of light straight towards Mon’Ter’s chest. He grit his teeth as the blade of light traveled closer and closer to him, Mon’Ter could see it almost in slow motion as it moved towards him with
“Are you two okay?” Elyenora said, looking over them from above with her usual grin.“Ely?!” Mon’Ter stared at her with eyes wider than an open door.“What! Princess Ely, how did you get here?” Leonidas instantly rushed to try and get to his feet.“Ah! Gramps, calm down!” and the princess hurriedly sheathed her rapier and tried to get ahold of the elder. She grabbed him by the sides and attempted to keep him up as he was still quite wobbly from exerting himself so much.Leonidas grasped her by the shoulders as he managed to balance himself, then looked at her straightly so that he could speak with at least a semblance of strength behind his voice. “How can you be telling me to be calm! You’re here! Much less than just being awake and moving around, you even saved our butts! Hahaha! Oh by the gods! You don’t know how happy I am to see you!” he hugged her, tightly as he could, eve
Within due time, all four of them awoke in the room of serenity’s midst. Mon’Ter was the first to rise up, and the first thing his eyes met with was a rather familiar man dressed in quite the lavish clothing attire. “Ah, it seems my tall gold mine has awoken from his slumber!” the man clapped a few times with his hands. “Rise and shine then, up you go,” the pope, George, spoke with a hint of sarcasm to his voice. He seemed to be enjoyed the trade-in goods Mon’Ter had given to him as payment for the spell he’d used to help them. “Tell me, did things proceed as you’d planned?” “I believe so…?” Mon’Ter said, a tad wobbly as he sat up and supported himself with his arms. He glanced at his three comrades who were currently still laying down. Still worrying, he furrowed his brows in silence as he waited for them to move as well. And slowly, Leonidas nudged his eyes open and rose up to a sitting position. Though he looked to be in need of holding his head, as visibl
Hours later, after Elyenora and Samuel had woken up from their long stupor, the four party members found themselves sitting in chairs around a table as Pope George waltzed around left and right with his hand on chin, seemingly in a deep muse.“Considering everything you’ve told me,” Pope George said, “we can’t have your brother continuing any further with his plans than he already has, princess.”“That is why I believe we should land a decisive strike as quickly as possible,” Elyenora said, lightly tapping the table with her fist.“Indeed,” Leonidas nodded her way. “That child doesn’t get what he’s gotten into, working with the remnants of the dragon cult will only result in trouble for the nation, and he certainly won’t be accomplishing much in the military aspect like he hopes to. If we don’t get to him now, it will be too late by any other time.”“Yeah
It only took a little longer for the party to finish their conversation with Pope George. They agreed that he would arrange for his holy knights and paladins to be at the ready for a climactic battle in the case of the Dragon Cult’s forces returning, whenever and if they made an appearance in the capital. As for the main party of four, they went back to the mage’s guild through their allocated to Anabas city gateway. Through there, it was more than easy to return back to Weylorn, and in the confines of the Lioncrown Gaia manor’s grounds.“Finally back,” Samuel mumbled out as they got to the inside of the manor, they found themselves in a rather dark room, though there were many bookshelves around and some other magic items and that sort of nonsense.“Yeah,” Elyenora mumbled back. “It’s still hard to believe that Weylorn is in a really sorry state outside of here, despite being in the city now. Though that is
“You do?!” Mon’Ter looked at the old arch mage with eyes wider than an open door. “Wait, how? I thought you said that tracking him down wouldn’t be easy for you at all?”“Did I?” Randus said with a smug expression, obviously full of himself. “In any case, you needn’t worry about tracking him down. He’s headed to Banul city right now, even as we speak.”“Oh, so are we!” Mon’Ter caught on.“My, that simplifies things,” Leonidas grinned. “I’ll kill the fucker the moment I see him once we arrive there.”“Give me a rip and tear at him too,” Mon’Ter said as he raised his claw up to flex his fingers.“It’ll get to that, but firstly, we need to arrange everything,” Randus said as he walked on over to the room’s center. “Sereia, Elyenora, Samuel, reunion is over, we have work to do.”
“Wha–” Samuel was taken aback by Mon’Ter’s predatory comment. “Of course you can’t eat it!”“Aww…” Mon’Ter’s eyes drooped a little bit in disappointment. “It’s been so long since I hunted something and ate it, though. I miss deer meat.”“No means no! What are you even going to do? Eat the blade?” Samuel felt like facepalming.Elyenora chuckled at the whole conversation. “Hahaha!” she laughed a little, then commented on them. “In any case, that sure is interesting… You said it’s a baby deer? Maybe it's some sort of spirit?”“You think?” Samuel raised a brow. “So would that make this a sort of… spirit bound weapon?”“Ohh! That could be the case!” Elyenora exclaimed.“I don’t think I’ve ever heard of such a thing before… Perhaps durin
