As the horde of monsters with shining green eyes approached, the carriage horses began to get restless, trying to set themselves free and run.
The carriage owner did his best to calm them down and get them to pull the carriages to another direction for them all to escape, but the animals were too afraid to listen or make any sound decisions.
“Damn it! Damn it!” The owner bellowed as he tried to rein them in to no avail.
The people had given up on the horses and were about to start running on foot, when Elyenora stood up and shouted with a powerful voice.
“Everyone! Calm down and take your seats!” She spoke, taking her hood off. “Don't fear, because we will take care of these creatures! So suck it up and wait patiently over there!” She bellowed, brandishing her sword.
The Silent Wind Rapier.
An exquisite sword that even the common eye could tell it would be worth a fortune, with a snow white blade that glistered in the sun light and a handle that was seemingly made out of gold with emeralds placed in it.
Elyenora held it high up in the air which struck the people as if she were an imposing figure with her shining blade fashioned with gems.
“G-Girl, what c-can you possibly do?!” The owner asked, fear slowly creeping into his psyche.
“A lot, so just watch.” Elyenora replied and looked to Mon’Ter who was gazing into the distance. “Mon’Ter, help me out with those.”
“Alright... Ely...” He replied quietly, standing up from the carriage with his tall 6’4’’ frame, “Me will go... Kill the big one... What about... The man in the woods?” He pointed towards the forests.
“A man in the woods?” Elyenora questioned, “See to him after dealing with the Troll. Bring him to me for questioning.” She said, jumping out of the carriage high into the air and towards the monsters.
Mon’Ter nodded, then quickly followed with swift steps on the ground as he rushed towards the horde’s leader, the giant four meter tall troll.
It had blue skin and many scars darting over its entire muscular body, with an ugly face that had a big nose and tusks coming out from its mouth.
The troll had long ears and a bit of black hair on the top of its head, it wore a leather loincloth with many big bone ornaments placed all over it, mostly skulls which acted as a show that it had defeated many opponents thus far.
Over all, it struck as an opponent worth fearing in the eyes of many.
“Ah...! Wait a minute!” Shana spoke in surprise as she reached her hand out, thinking that this was supposed to be her job to do as well as that she’d been saved from doing said job.
The people on the other hand could only watch in awe as they saw the two seemingly maniacs rush towards the horde of monsters instead of running away from them, they watched as Elyenora landed on the ground and ran towards the pack of giant wolves as if they were mere half dead starving dogs found on the streets of some slum.
The scene they had all pictured in their heads was one where she was torn to shreds after trying to play the hero, however reality can often times be surprising.
The frail looking young girl brandished her sword, pulling it closely to her chest and pointing the tip forwards as she ran.
In front of her stood a dozen dire wolves that were the size of bulls, their dark fur gave out a dreading feeling while their canines struck fear into the passengers who watched them growl at the nearing Elyenora.
Without delay, they all ran towards the rushing girl with full intention of tearing her to pieces the moment they laid their teeth on her.
However, a sudden surge of wind began circling the blade which she held, going faster and faster until it became akin to a rapidly moving saw that could slice even boulders in half with but the slightest of touches.
Elyenora’s movements suddenly accelerated as well, her blade’s enchanted capabilities spreading out to her own body, giving her what was essentially the blessings of the wind which only served to make her dash faster.
With a sudden gust of wind blowing, Elyenora passed through each and every wolf in but a second, her body appearing nearly ten meters away from the wolf that was furthest back from the front of the pack.
She straightened her back and moved her sword to the side, with a glance, she looked behind herself and towards the wolves, seeing that they had all halted their movements.
A second gust of wind then blew, seemingly delayed from the sheer speed of her movements.
Suddenly each and every one of the wolves’ bodies had been pierced cleanly through both head and heart, killing them all instantly and sending their corpses falling to the ground, bleeding profusely from the big holes that had formed.
Elyenora breathed out a huff of air, “That’s one group of enemies down.” She said and switched her gaze towards the rest of the enemies, giant Spiders, Bears and Deer alike.
‘Seems like this won’t be as easy as I had thought...’ The princess thought, raising her blade to her chest area and preparing for more deadly combat.
On the other side of the battlefield, Mon’Ter had reached the front of the troll and simply stared at him as if he had found a new toy.
“You seem... Fun...” Mon’Ter murmured as the Troll raised its stone club.
The troll had no remorse for the tiny ant before it, there was simply a small pipsqueak that needed to learn its place there after all, a lesson that would send its skull to the troll’s belt no doubt.
“GRAAH!!” The Troll bellowed, swinging the club down towards its tiny adversary and smashing the ground beneath.
The strike had been so powerful that it cracked the ground to as far as five meters away from the center of the hit, creating a small crater in Mon’Ter’s location, gusts of strong winds blew in all directions which even reached the carriages and forced the passengers to protect their eyes from the wind with their hands.
Once they opened them, they saw a scene unlike any they had ever even imagined before.
The tall man who had been dwarfed by the giant troll to the point he seemed tiny in comparison was sitting under the club’s tip and holding it with his one only right hand, as if it were a mere stick with no weight whatsoever.
“Don’t bore me... Big blue thing...” Mon’Ter whispered and vanished from his location with inhuman speed, as if he were never there in the first place.
The troll’s confusion was apparent, as it had thought it had smushed the tiny person. In its confusion it failed to realize that Mon’Ter had moved behind it and jumped high enough to reach the top of its head.
Mon’Ter’s hand then suddenly grew, tearing apart the bandages which hid his dragon like claw and reaching a size big enough to grasp the Troll’s entire head.
To put it into perspective, this troll with a size of four meters had a head as big as an elephant's! Yet Mon’Ter simply grabbed it with his elongated claws and pulled back, accelerating himself downwards by using the enemy’s own weight itself against it and with enough force of strength to raise the troll’s feet up into the air!
He then took the troll with him towards the ground, fiercely swinging towards it as the beast roared in fear! “GRAAAHH!!”
With a thunderous slam, Mon’Ter smashed the head of the beast with far greater force than it had shown previously, creating a giant cloud of dust in the process that covered everything from view.
The ground formed cracks which reached as far as twenty meters away, gusts of wind blew that were powerful enough to blow the nearby trees’ leaves into disarray and even clearing the floating dust from the air up a bit at the same time it had formed.
Blood slowly dripped from the head of the before seemingly undefeatable troll, his skull having been crushed from the indominable force that Mon’Ter had put into his hand.
Mon’Ter let go of the creature’s head, “You... Done? Boring...” He spoke and hid his hand underneath his cloak, the dust cloud having made it so that he had enough time to do so.
‘Showing hand... would be bad...’ Mon’Ter thought, as he turned his gaze towards Elyenora, ‘Should me... Help her?’ he thought once more as the dust cloud cleared completely.
The girl however didn’t seem to need any help, as the giant monstrous deer rushed towards her with their claws and steel antlers, she simply moved slightly with her feet and dodged all incoming charges with gracious movements.
Each deer that charged at her passed by while just almost grazing her, only to fall to the ground by the next step they took due to her swift stabbing.
Soon each one had fallen, and the big mob of giant spiders finally reached Elyenora’s location, completely filling her vision with their bodies.
She however quickly made her way through them with nimble steps while still managing to kill half a dozen on her way out of their barrage of bodies.
Without further notice, she ran towards the group of bears with sharp needle like red fur, as they growled at her and shot a multitude of needles in her direction, trying to skewer her alive.
With seamlessly flawless footwork, she passed right through all their needles while guiding the air around her to protect her from any she could not dodge via a small barrier of rapidly moving wind that spiraled in front of her.
After reaching their location, Elyenora brandished her blade once more and instantly made five holes in the five skulls of the bears, killing them on the spot before they could even raise their paws in defense.
The spiders then neared, and she turned to face them once more.
The result here, would be too obvious to explain.
‘Seems like she is owkay...’ Mon’Ter thought and shifted his gaze towards the man in the woods, who had now turned tail and ran along with his last companion.
“You’re not... escaping...” Mon’Ter muttered and rushed towards the woods with frightening speed.
He had found a prey to hunt, and so it would never escape his grasp.
…
‘Sh*t! Sh*t! Cr*p! What the hell are those people?!’ Thought the man with emerald green eyes that were currently still bloodshot crimson red.
He had auburn brown short hair and wore some exquisite clothes that were obviously rather expensive, he didn’t seem to have ever had any physical training done so his running speed would have been negligible before an apex predator of Mon’Ter’s caliber, however the man was not alone.
He rode atop of a gray dire wolf, the would be alpha of the previously decimated pack which was even bigger than the already giant wolves from before.
Its eyes, like the many other creatures, glowed with an emerald green light.
The speed this wolf ran at was quite impressive, as even the best of horses would pale in comparison to it. This gave the man a rather big head start towards his escape, however would it truly be enough?
‘Father’s request was supposed to be simple...! How did this happe-’ Before the man could finish his thought process, the wolf’s running came to a halt and sent the man flying across the air.
“Aaagh!” He screamed, falling down and landing inside of a nearby bush, earning himself a few scratches and bruises.
The man slowly rose up, looking back to his would be steed that had, had its head cleanly cleaved off. “Oh, cr*p baskets...” He uttered, as a cloaked figure landed beside him.
Leaning in, Mon’Ter whispered in the Man’s ear. “Found you~” His crimson red eye glowed from underneath his hood as he did so.
“Eek!” The man screeched, moving back a few steps in a panic, “Wh-Wha-What do you want?!” He stuttered.
“Me wants... Your compliance... Come with Mon’Ter back to Ely... So she can do talking...” Mon’Ter muttered and walked closer towards the man who began sweating bullets.
“Yo-You can’t seriously expect me to do that now can yo-” The man spoke while still backing up, but stopped once he saw the claws underneath the cloak.
Gulping, he thought to himself. ‘That... That’s a monster... No wonder it took out my troll so easily if it too is a high ranking beast as well...’
The situation seemed grim for the man, but after a certain thought crossed his mind he simply smirked and began laughing like a mad man.
“Haha... Hahaha.... Hahahahaha!” The man laughed, holding his forehead while pulling his head back a bit.
“What’s... So funny...?” Mon’Ter asked, confused at the man’s actions.
“Oh... My silly little creature, you had me fooled there for a second. I was thinking that you were a human... This changes things quite drastically.” The man spoke as his emerald green bloodshot eyes glowed, bleeding all the while, “Seeing as you’re a simple Monster.” He gazed into Mon’Ter’s eye and vied to take control over him!
‘If it is a monster... then I have nothing to fear!’ The man thought, smiling maniacally, ‘I’ll take its mind over with my magic eyes and use it to slaughter that woman and the rest of the travelers!’
“...” Mon’Ter stood silently, looking at his adversary with his red eye sharpening further into a slit and turning more menacing than it was before, “Me is... Not monster...” He barely uttered with a whisper.
“W-what was that?” The man asked with a squeak, surprised to hear that the ‘monster’ could still speak despite his eyes supposedly acting upon it.
“Me is... Human... With name...” Mon’Ter spoke in reply, his crimson eye glowing ever so brightly as a shadow loomed over the opposing man’s vision.
Everything he saw tunneled onto Mon’Ter’s eye, as sweat dripped down his face like rain drops falling from the sky.
His feet began to shake and his eyes began to quiver away as he took a step back and fell down on his arse.
“Aa...! Aaah! AaahhHH!!!” He screamed in rising fear, trying to back up by kicking and flailing his arms as an enormous dark shadow loomed over him and consumed all of the surroundings into an abyssal darkness.
All he felt was horror, and a nearing end looming over him with silent anger.
“Me is Mon’Ter... Remember that... You weakling.”
Trembling all over his body in terror, the man with bloodshot emerald eyes was thrown to the front of Elyenora, quivering at her feet. Smiling slightly, Mon'Ter stared at her with his one right eye lightening up a bit as he spoke to her, "Ely… Me caught the man… He controlled the things." “Good job!” Elyenora beamed with a smile as she kneeled down to look the man over, “Now then, mind telling us what that was all about?” She asked cheerily. Still shivering, as if in a trance, the man muttered “... Dark shadows… Red eye… Help... Me...” Looking at the man's incomprehensible answer, Elyenora turned her gaze back towards Mon'Ter and asked, "Mon'Ter, did you just bring me a disabled person or what?" Shaking his head, Mon'Ter denied the accusation as he pouted a little, "No... The man is... Okay... Try... Wake him up…" Sighing, Elyenora then raised her hand and slapped the man's cheek repeatedly while she spoke, "Hello, princess, wakey wakey." “W-What? Where am I? Who are you peop
Crowds of people could be seen on the street, walking around the markets, stalls, and many more. It was still broad daylight, with the sun at its zenith. A cloudless sky reigned upwards while winds blew gently, this was the season of summer, it gave high temperatures to most places which made heavy labor work and especially farming rather difficult under the rays of the sun. Inside of a certain shop, a middle aged man grunted angrily while he stared at a particular few customers. Two young girls and a weird looking young man in tow. The three of them had been disturbing him ever since they had walked into his shop with their endless questions. "Like I said, a lot of children have been missing but that is a usual thing in the slums! Who cares about those stinking, poor rats? I have no one nor anything to feel suspicions of!" bellowed the middle aged man in an annoyed tone. "Come on, old Bobby. You are always the one who is interested in gossips like this the most. My friends here n
In the middle of the night, Mon’Ter stood before the opened entrance of a staircase which led beneath the city. The reality of the fact that Elyenora was already inside was still sinking in, as he wondered. ‘Why did she go down without me? Is she safe...?” A bit worried over the prospect that his new found companion might be in danger among the people they’d call enemies down there. Mon’Ter quickly rushed down the staircase with high speed, his visage having the semblance of a shadow. ‘Need to catch up to her... Could be bad...’ Mon’Ter thought, running down to the bottom of the excessively long staircase and into a wide maze. This underground maze was nearly fifty meters down beneath the surface, which seemed like an overkill even to Mon’Ter who didn’t understand much about these things like underground hideouts or cities and their buildings. The walls of the dark hallways were old and mossy, many cracks showed to have spread across each surface over the long years since
Approximately Ten hours ago, before Mon’Ter stumbled onto the large room inside of the underground hideout. … Mon’Ter had just left in search of clues on his own, he had wanted to help contribute somehow since all he had been doing till then was just walk along together with the two girls, Elyenora and Shana. After he told them that he’d go look around, his visage quickly vanished among the crowds and the two girls went on along their own way. Shana had advised they go visit one of the shadier people among the brokers, it was a ways away from where they stood now however within an hour or so they managed to reach their destination. They walked down a few old murky alleyways which got progressively dirtier the more they walked through them, in the end it led them to a cover made out of some old dark red rags made of fur. Upon moving past the cover, Elyenora and Shana stumbled onto a small clearing between the city buildings. There seemed to be a small market place here, with a de
Having spent the better half of her time waiting for the clock to hit ten around food stalls, Elyenora had a happy smile on her face as she chewed on some barbecue skewers. ‘It’s almost ten o’clock now, I should head towards the red-light district.’ Elyenora thought, munching on the last part of her food as she shifted her gaze towards the turning streets. The night had already fallen and many magical street lights had begun shining to illuminate the surroundings, the crowds around the main streets lessened significantly however the absence of people didn’t last long. After walking for a while across the streets, Elyenora finally entered the red-light district which was filled with its many night time activities. The people there were once more abundant and there was a bountiful number of loosely dressed women vying for the attention of the passing men, seeing them as potential customers. Walking through the thick crowds, she hummed in a low tone since she was pleased at th
“T-The crown...?” Nadia stuttered, shock filling her visage. Why wouldn’t she be shocked? Elyenora was not only the second born, but also a princess. So how could she possibly dream of taking the crown for herself? “Yes, the crown. Due to some circumstances my brother cannot be allowed to officially ascend to the throne, he cannot be crowned.” Elyenora spoke in a determined voice. “W-What do you mean?” Nadia questioned, the situation having risen by several dozen levels. “Let’s just say that he would make for a terrible ruler.” Elyenora answered, pushing the contract paper closer to Nadia. “Go ahead, read it.” “Okay then...” Nadia said, grabbing the paper while trying to regain her composure. ‘Is this woman nuts...? How does she ever plan on taking over the kingdom?! Is that why she’s travelling alone...?’ Nadia thought as she carefully read through the contract. Nothing was wrong with it, Elyenora would help her ascend to the position of city lord by killing her father
The raid assault group which had been formed from Nadia’s endeavors and Elyenora’s ‘light’ push now numbered seventeen people, they all had good equipment on them and gazes that radiated with confidence. While walking down the steep staircase that slowly lost any semblance of light which the moon had been providing, Melissa raised her finger and wrote a couple of Runes in the air. Shortly after, a ball of light shone and moved in front of the group, acting as a sort of lantern for them in the dark. “Nice spell Melissa, definitely beats using torches.” Trygg, the leader of the knight group commented. “Yeah, and it paints us as a big bright target in these dark hallways.” Jorky added with an annoyed tone. “So, you’d rather we trip over holes and stones or smash our heads in walls? Get ambushed from the dark from missing a turn filled with enemies? Yeah, no thank you.” Melissa countered, sneering at the comment. “Just stay on guard at all times, we need to be ready for anything.” El
During the combat against the remaining seven enemies, three knights each occupied one assassin, pushing them back long enough for someone else to swoop in and decimate them. Three such cases ended with Drull, Siya and Jorky ending an assassin each. The other four fell at the hand of Elyenora and Trygg, three to the princess and one to the knight leader supported by arrows. It was a swift victory despite facing powerful adversaries. “Booyah!” Jorky exulted excitedly. “Good job everyone, nice fight!” Trygg heaved, wiping some sweat off his forehead. “These guys are from the assassin’s guild, no wonder they were so tough.” Drull commented. “Aye, but we got em good!” “Assassins or not we showed them who’s boss!” “Ain’t nothing like a good ol’ round of team work, ey guys?” Some of the knights bantered, proud of the achievement. Assassin guild members were no joke, their speed and agility in combat is second to none amongst the other factions, they’re feared as silent killers tha
Just as Mon’Ter was busy rotting on the inside, Samuel and Sereia were finally able to get back on their feet. Samuel could now see properly and move around, and Sereia had drunk a high grade healing potion that brought her back up to speed. “Agh… My back was killing me there…” Sereia said as she stretched, trying to get herself back into shape. “Do I even need to mention my head…?” Samuel held it, he still felt like it would start spinning again but thankfully it was over. “We really need to go and help Mon’Ter out,” Sereia mumbled out loud. “It seems like he got two of them but he’s facing that guy that my dad said was the best assassin in the world…” Still, they were a bit far away from the chimera and couldn’t assist him right away, especially since Mon’Ter’s fear came true. “It seems like we have our own troubles to deal with first…” Samuel pointed out as he gazed at the sky above them. “Huh? That guy again?” Sereia said in annoya
As Mon’Ter stood in a confrontation between himself and the three assassins, Sereia and Samuel did their best to catch their bearings and get to assisting him rather than being a burden for him. Thankfully, Samuel had some recovery potions on him, but due to his issue with coordination caused by Hendrick’s eye ability, he couldn’t move his arms in the right direction much less find where he’d stored the bottles. And as for Sereia, she actually did try to get to Samuel and find the potions for him, but, given how wounded her back really was she was having some difficulty pushing herself to stand back up and move towards his bag. Of course, this would only take her seconds to do in real time, maybe ten or twenty, but in the moments of combat those seconds would be more than enough for her and him to lose their lives at once many times over. They were dealing with assassins after all, and while these assassins were definitely slowed down from the g
Just as Elyenora was dealing with Alinesia with the help of Randus’ Gravity Zone spell, so were Sereia and Samuel working on using the spell to their advantage too. Seeing as they were able to outmaneuver their respective match ups and bring down two specters, they had now managed to get away from the other two old men who’d targeted them and made their way towards where Mon’Ter was being held down by Alinesia’s parents. That, of course, didn’t take long at all with the help of Samuel’s teleportation magic.Sereia quickly landed right over the female assassin with super long nails, Allison, while Samuel waltzed right into her husband, Hendrick, and swung straight at his arms that were holding Mon’Ter’s head up close to his eye level. On Sereia’s end, things were quickly and easily dispatched. Having had the jump on the opponent she was able to instantly get Allison to dodge her first blow and leave Mon’
With Alinesia’s light blinding everyone, Randus was able to easily move about by practicing a simple spell to allow his eyes to perceive past the blinding shine of her. He had basically created pseudo shades on his face which he used to escape from Lerroy’s immediate reach.During the course of the battle so far, the two of them had been flying high up in the air and blasting each other with all manner of magical spells, it had gotten to the point that most of the soldiers down below were getting nervous just by standing underneath them. However, Randus hadn’t just been mindlessly flying about and chucking explosions at his old master, no, of course not, he wouldn’t be where he is at today if he did something so basic. The whole time they were moving around the air space, Randus had been leaving small sigils in specific locations high above the ground and laying out a layer filled circle of magic large enough to encompass most of the existing su
Alinesia had completed her transformation, however, she wasn’t the only one making moves during that last minute of action. There were still many people on the battlefield, and the ones who made the biggest change aside from her, were definitely Randus, Samuel and Sereia who all made good use of the previous minute or so of time.On their side of the field, just as Elyenora and Alinesia were having their clash of wills, Samuel and Sereia both found themselves pushing against their respective spectral opponents. It had gotten to the point where they were chasing after these Low ranking Arch Lord Class entities as if they were hunting rabbits. It was at this time that both Gandar, the court mage of the Royal palace and the elderly master of the assassin’s guild intervened on their little chase. Gandar shot through the sky atop a conjuration of wind and flew near enough to be within his range of Samuel, he weaved his staff and made a spiraling motion with it b
Back to the princess’ side of the field, where she was facing off against a previous foe. Elyenora could feel that things weren’t going her way at all, she knew it in her heart with every strike she sent towards Alinesia and every second she wasted on fighting against her. But what could she do while everyone was being held back like this? There was one and only thing she could really do to try and help out.Ending the fight swiftly.Alinesia had certainly grown significantly since their last fight, she was more than the princess’ match even after Elyenora had gotten her significant growth spurt after releasing the spiritual cultivation shard from her body. However, it didn’t seem like the Lioness would be able to keep up with Elyenora if she just made a simple action and unleashed her newly acquired artifacts.“I’m sorry, but I’ll be ending our little rematch early,” the princess said as she pushed back on the fla
Cazimir fell, cut in half and in a completely stupefied state. Someone meant to have been on his side, an ally, had just taken him down. His bloodied eyes shone with a bright light and created shadow soldiers that tried to hold him back together, barely, even as his own blood and organs left his body to splatter down on the ground. “W–wh–y…?” Cazimir asked as only one of his eyes barely managed to move and look at Finn. “Because you interfered where it was not your place, stupid assassin,” Finn said, his eyes wider than an open door and staring the vampire down with intense pressure behind his every word. “Couldn’t you follow simple instructions? I told you. Don’t interfere with my fight. Leonidas is mine to do battle with.” “Bast–ard…” Cazimir barely mumbled out, and with another glow of his eyes he forced the soldiers to move him about ten meters away from the now enemy. With yet another glow, he summoned out a potion that fell from a litt
Alinesia glared at Elyenora with her fiery blade burning at her side. “It’s sure been a while, hasn’t it?”“You again?!” Elyenora clicked her tongue, she had been forced to stop right in her tracks by her once again, for the second time. “Why are you here!?”“Why?” Alinesia grit her teeth. “Did you seriously ask me why, you blond bimbo?!”“What?” The princess felt a little taken aback by the assassin’s words. “Don’t you understand what you’re working towards right now? Do you even know what my brother is trying to do!? It’s all foolish! Why would you work for him? You’re smarter than that!” Elyenora tried to change her mind if she could, though, it didn’t seem like Alinesia was here for money or anything of the sort by the look on her face.“You think I’m here just because that prince twat brother of yours asked t
“We kill all of them to get to him,” Mon’Ter’s voice reverberated throughout the entire space, being heard by everyone that surrounder him and his comrades. It caused several laughs to erupt, which then continued into multiple more and more until the entire enemy legion made a laughing stock out of Mon’Ter’s words.“Bold words from someone bound to die,” Gandar, the royal court mage, snickered at his words. “Who even are you, boy? Another knight? Not with that get up you’re not. Perhaps a mage? Shall I teach you some proper manners in speech?”“I’d actually like that,” Mon’Ter said truthfully. “But it’s not the time to be learning manners.”His hand extended and his fingers grew as his nails elongated into sharp swords capable of piercing the thickest of hides and slashing the hardest of steels. The strange development caused many to put their guard
