30 Dinner

“Hey… wait.'' A man in his late sixties gestured at Austin to stop.

Austin turned, seeing a man in a white, baggy shirt and grey pants.

Forcing a smile, the man extended his hand to greet Austin, but the latter kept staring at him, refusing to take his hand.

''I-I.'' The man gulped.

''Will it be too difficult for you to help us get back our money too?':he asked.

''Yes it will.'' Austin nodded, turning his back against the man.

Sighing in defeat, the man bit his tongue, masking his dissatisfaction as he distanced himself from Austin.

Left alone with Alice, an awkward silence enveloped the room, the sound of their breathing breaking it in a calculated rhythm.

''How did you do it?': Alice frowned, narrowing her eyes in scepticism.

She still found it difficult to believe what just happened earlier. Just a while back, she was all over the place, humiliating Austin, thinking she had arrived.
