46The Punishment

“Austin is fine.” Austin shrugged, walking towards the middle of the hall, while Jay followed closely behind him.

“Your punishment has yet to be removed, by the way. “

“You and your father disobeyed my command.”

“Your command?” Jay halted in his tracks as he tried to make sense of what Austin meant.

“I'm… we're sorry… we never received any command from-”

“What's your relationship with Sarah?” Austin glanced back with a sharp glint.

Upon hearing that name, Jay sucked in a long breath. He felt his stomach twist, and his heart stopped beating for a second. He didn't need further information to know where Austin was heading to. Otherwise, he himself would agree with his father over how stupid he was.

“That was an oversight from my part.” Jay dropped to his knees as cold perspiration flooded his suit.

'Shit, why didn't I think of this when I received that message.' Jay bit his lips, his face twisting in regret.
