Chapter 5: Dungeon

Chapter 5: Dungeon

With a throbbing headache, Han Yichen scoured the chatroom in search of an elixir that could aid his recovery. However, his efforts proved futile as viable options were scarce. Frustrated and feeling hopeless, he decided to make a desperate move.

"Argh! My head is killing me!"

Han Yichen's frustration grew as he realized the scarcity of the elixir he desperately needed to heal his injuries. The pain in his head intensified, further fueling his determination to find a solution.

Unable to locate a suitable remedy through his search, Han Yichen decided to take matters into his own hands. He composed a notice in the chatroom, expressing his urgent need for the specific elixir required to heal his damaged meridians and QI veins.

"Looking for the legendary elixir to heal crippled state. If anyone possesses or knows of its whereabouts, please contact me immediately. Willing to negotiate a fair price."

With a mix of hope and uncertainty, Han Yichen posted the notice, hoping that someone within the vast virtual community might hold the key to his recovery. To heal a cripple stage was equivalent to regenerating every external and internal body part. Thus only a legendary Elixer could be of some help.

"Sigh, now I can't speed up things," Han Yichen muttered to himself as he gazed at the towering structure that seemed to stretch into the sky, reaching hundreds and thousands of meters above him.

His ultimate goal was to enter the enigmatic tower, a structure steeped in mystery and said to have been constructed by the ancient civilization.

Legends surrounding the tower whispered tales of endless opportunities and abundant resources awaiting those brave enough to venture within its walls.

This tower, known as the Tower of Evolution, was currently under the control of the Heavenly Dragon Sect.

In this ever-changing world, where kingdoms once reigned supreme, sects and organizations had risen to become powers as influential as empires.

As a result, many kingdoms had ceased to exist, with only a few, including the Leon Kingdom, Moon Kingdom, Sun Kingdom, and the formidable Kingdom of Hopes, managing to survive.

However, none of these kingdoms possessed a tower. Out of the five towers that existed in the world—the Tower of Souls, the Tower of Destruction, the Tower of Dead, and the Tower of Evolution—only the Tower of Evolution had been conquered by humans. The other towers were either claimed by intelligent ferocious beasts or inhabited by other races.

Currently, Han Yichen had set his sights on visiting the Tower of Evolution. Although he knew he lacked the strength to conquer the entire tower, he believed that with the assistance of the bronze fighter, he could at least reach the tenth or twentieth floor.

But to enter the tower, he had to become a member of the Heavenly Dragon Sect, preferably a high-ranking one.

In this vast world, strength was the key to survival, and without it, one could perish at any moment.

And so, Han Yichen returned to his daily routine, venturing into the forest in search of the bones of powerful beasts. A week passed, and during that time, Han Yichen made an interesting discovery—he could convert valuable items and possessions into system points. He also dedicated himself to physical training, and he could visibly notice the improvements in his body.

"Sigh, even with the system, life is still so challenging," Han Yichen mumbled as he collected the leftover bones of a slain beast. "I'm still quite unfortunate," he lamented, continuing his journey deeper into the forest. However, at that moment, an angry roar echoed through the air, sending a wave of fear surging through Han Yichen. He hurriedly fled from the source of the noise.

Despite possessing the bronze fighter, which could potentially kill beasts in a single strike, Han Yichen was reminded of its cooldown. Just like any ordinary human, the bronze fighter required eight hours of rest before it could be used again.

"Damn it! Previously, I had the means to cultivate but lacked resources. Now, I have the resources but cannot cultivate," Han Yichen grumbled in frustration.

Leaving the forest behind, Han Yichen returned to the kingdom. He looked around and found the Adventurer Guild. After selling ten bones for 50 Tin coins, he turned to leave. Just as he was walking away, a notification chimed in his personal communication device.

Ding!

Han Yichen hastily checked the message, and his eyes lit up with excitement. The sender was the Dungeon Overlord, and the message piqued his interest. "Hey, Mister ABcD12a@a23. I heard your request. You must be from a cultivation world, right? Well, I don't have a legendary elixir, but I have something that might interest you," the message read.

ABcD12a@a23: I'm interested. Tell me about it.

Dungeon Overlord: MR ABcD12a@a23, since you're from the world of cultivation you might not be familiar with the term dungeon. It's not like a dungeon where prisoners are captured. It's a place filled with monsters and many floors. As one descends the floor they will face stronger monsters.

ABcD12a@a23: So?

Dungeon overlord: You see any creature who enters the dungeon and dies their soul is used to create treasures. It's up to you to decide what kind of treasure. On top of that the monsters within the dungeon will be loyal to you. Upon their death their soul will return to the first floor.

"Hmm, interesting." Han Yichen muttered.

ABcD12a@a23: What about the monsters? From where will I get them.

Dungeon overlord: You will have to buy them from me. In a dungeon there should be treasures which attract others. It's like a lottery. Any random monster could posses a treasure in it's body while the bos monster will defenately posses one.

ABcD12a@a23: How much does it cost to buy a monster?

Dungeon Overlord: The price depends on the strength and rarity of the monster. We have a range of options available, starting from low-level creatures to powerful boss monsters. The cost can vary from a few system points to several thousand system points.

ABcD12a@a23: Are there any restrictions or limitations on the monsters I can purchase?

Dungeon Overlord: As the dungeon owner, you have the freedom to choose the monsters you want, as long as you have the required system points.
