Chapter 6 : Autopsy

The sexy woman grabbed James' wrist, forcing him to stand up. Anne didn't give James a chance to think bad things.

"What's wrong, Anne?" the confused man asked.

"Saving you. We haven't taken care of one thing yet," Anne said as she pulled James' hand out of her room.

James was resigned to what was going to happen. He realized he was helpless out there. Like it or not, James needed to follow the orders of this woman he just met to face all the dangers.

They went back out of the house and got into Anne's car. A silver metallic luxury car. Anne held the steering wheel while James sat next to her.

The woman was driving with great focus. James sweated, looking at her beautiful face, worried about what would happen. His heart felt uneasy, he felt like every place was becoming unsafe.

"Where are we going?" asked James.

"Where to? To Jessica's place, of course. She should still be at the hospital," Anne replied, keeping her eyes on the road.

"Jessica?"

"We must ensure everyone doesn't find out that Jessica was murdered! Including the person who autopsied her! You remember, right? Monsters only target humans who know their secrets."

James gasped at Anne's words. The short blonde woman was right, James needed to keep a good secret. If anyone else sniffed out the strangeness of Jessica's death, those horrible monsters would definitely hunt him down.

Anne smiled a little after seeing James' surprised face in the tail of her eyes.

"You realize that, handsome? We're saving your ass now."

It wasn't long before they arrived at the hospital. They both exited the car and immediately headed to the autopsy room. A few nurses were looking at them, but Anne didn't seem to care, she kept walking forward. James followed her anxiously.

Anne opened the door to the autopsy room, pulled on James' arm to force him inside, then closed the door tightly. Then Anne controlled the metal on the door so that it was locked.

A woman in her twenties was stunned to see them. She felt something was wrong with the two people who had just entered, even though she didn't want to be disturbed when examining a corpse like this.

"Sorry, this is not a place you can enter. I need you to get out immediately!" he ordered, pointing.

Anne then took a step while raising her hand in front of her chest, then her right hand turned into a long metal rod on one side.

Then Anne quickly pointed the sword from her hand right in front of the woman's eyes, leaving her stunned and unable to move.

"Shut up and follow my orders if you want to live!" she threatened.

The woman raised her hands tremblingly. She smiled unwillingly, frightened by the beautiful woman who threatened her.

James walked around and found Jessica's body on the autopsy bed. He looked carefully, there was nothing strange about the body. The body was still the same as a human body.

"Anne, there is nothing strange about Jessica's body. No one should have known she was a monster," James stupidly said.

Suddenly Anne's eyes widened, looking at the careless James. James realized he made a mistake. He could only bite his lip.

"Stupid!" complained Anne.

On the other hand, the woman was surprised by what she had just heard. Her brows furrowed in surprise at James' words.

"Monsters?" she asked in surprise.

Anne lowered her metal hand, and she sighed as things got worse. James felt guilty for what he had just done.

"What's your name?" Anne asked the woman.

"I'm Lisa."

"Lisa, don't you know about monsters?"

Lisa shook her head.

"Jessica, did you do an autopsy on Jessica?" asked James.

"I was just about to start work. But you guys just walked in. And this woman...your hand suddenly appeared a sword!" said Lisa pointing at Anne's hand.

"Are you a monster, too?" she added.

"Don't be stupid. I'm one hundred percent human!" replied Anne irritably.

Lisa was silent, not wanting to say any more about Anne. She was still afraid of Anne's abilities. The woman gradually retreated towards the exit. But with just a few small steps, her hand was held by James.

"Don't go, Lisa. It's very dangerous outside. Tons of monsters will hunt you down," James said.

"Le...Let go!" Lisa flailed at James' hand, but the grip was still firm. Finally, Lisa bit James's hand so that Lisa was released. The woman with the bangs ran for the exit.

"Anne, why did you let her?" asked James when he saw Anne folding her arms while looking funny at Lisa, who grabbed the door handle.

Lisa tried to open the door to the autopsy room, but it was stuck. It looked like it was locked from the outside. She tried to push it with all her might, but it wouldn't budge.

"It's no use, Lisa. I control that door! It's all locked," Anne said with a frivolous smile.

Lisa turned to look angrily at Anne and James. "Shit!"

Lisa then took a coin from her pocket. She grasped it and stepped towards throwing it at Anne and James.

Anne didn't stay still, she sensed something dangerous about the coin. The blonde girl extended her metal hand to grab Lisa's wrist, making it impossible for her to let go of the coin she was holding.

"Ack!" cried the woman with bangs, feeling the pain in her hand.

"You...the resurrected human?" asked Anne with shocked, bulging eyes.

"I have the power to turn coins into bombs. I have this power, but I never u it because I might hurt other people," Lisa explained.

Lisa sat in a chair, and James and Anne stood before her. Anne folded her arms and watched Lisa's explanation carefully.

Beside them lay Jessica's corpse, the large hole in her chest still not dry, her blood still emitting a fishy odor.

"You're superhuman, why are you surprised to see me?" Anne asked.

"Of course! I've never met a superhuman other than myself!"

Anne held her forehead. She had encountered something unusual again today.

"HORNET...what are you doing?" she complained.

"HORNET?" asked James in surprise.

"HORNET, a superhuman organization formed to protect superhumans from monsters. Superhumans can get information and contacts to protect themselves from the monsters that have become too numerous," Anne explained.

"Monsters? Aren't you the monster, Anne? Your hand can extend!" said Lisa.

"No, silly, do your job as a medic, and you'll know who's the monster here!"

"Huh?"

"Lisa, trust us. We need to avoid these monsters together. Jessica is a monster. She attacked us a few hours ago, check her out, and you'll understand," James said persuasively.
