Chapter 49

With the auction over, the Smithsonian hall was emptied of guests and instead, the Smith family was left behind.

Richard sat at the place of importance with Miranda seated beside him on the right and Maria standing on the right.

Silence loomed over the hall as Richard regarded everyone present with light disdain.

Not even one of them had shown regard for the Smith family and had abandoned it to side with foreigners.

It was pathetic, to say the least.

Then, his gaze landed on Veronica who was glaring hatefully at him.

"Do you have something you wish to say?"

"Get off that chair, you bastard!... You aren't worthy of it." Veronica spat coldly.

Richard chuckled. "But I own everything now, even the clothes on your back. At this point, Veronica, I am your master."

"..." Veronica trembled, horribly angered by the fact that Richard was right.

Richard smirked. "I am your master and you will treat me as such. For your outburst just now, I believe it's right you stay without food for two days."
